The Nike Zoom Kobe VII takeover began last week, as we got a first detailed look and a thorough release schedule for the Kobe VII in its three forms. In addition to the “regular” $140 version, there will be a Supreme edition (pictured here), priced at $180, and an Elite tier, weighing in at a solid $200. As we get another look at the Kobe VII Supreme (in more of a ‘photoshoot’ style rather than a detailed look), we notice once again the shining detail of the Supreme – the removable ankle lock-down sleeve, attached to the cushioned insole (word is there are two types – ‘Play Fast’ and ‘Play Strong’). A heel-shot also reveals what appears to be visible Zoom Air and Kobe’s customary signature. Continue reading for a lengthy gallery of this upcoming 2012 release and let us know what you think – $180 for a Nike Zoom Kobe shoe worth the money? via kickz-lab.

I'll be honest I like the Kobe VI I felt they were really comfortable but I'm a big guy and after playing in them it wasn't for me at all. The new shoe is a little creative and I should know I work for the company however the shoe may look, the number one reason they set the price tag so high is because they know sneaker heads will buy 2. Kobe is more popular overseas in China and in Europe than LeBron is so he adds more coin in Nike's pocket. To me the shoe reminds me of a version of the Glove sneaker only with a detachable sock liner thats all.
$180 wow that's crazy. If they cushioning is full length zoom double stacked in the heel then i might consider but whats the difference between these and the $140
these are pretty bad!!! i want the GR or the subtle mamba print joints..those rock!! hope we get some cw pics of those
i liked these from the first pics, and i'm really interested in the sock liner since i like to play in hightop, but my ankle get suffocated easily so i can never tie the shoe lace to the top laces for long., I think these are really nice for me, but common, 180 is just a little too much....
WTF is that sole air windows opening in the heel?!!!! It looks like the Soviet locomotive train in James Bond movie "Goldeneye"...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I recommend Nike to get their sneaker designers go back to school or mass FIRE THEM!!!!
Why are people hating...the shoe is very innovative...taking steps forward in design and aesthetics, also price, but it beats designs like Lebron's shoe. Both are growing on me, but Lebron's shoe is not really jumping up in tech. And the sockliner in this shoe being modular is a step up in design. 180 is pretty steep, but that's the way things are. You dont gotta buy it yaknow?
You call that sockliner thing innovative? You obviously love Kobe too much and born in the millenium. Have you heard of the shoes called Air 2 Strong? or maybe the Gloves? Pippen 5 or the Zoom Kidd?
First off...I wasnt born in the millenium, im probably a decade older than you....And yes all these shoes were great, but even then...try any of them on at this point, and i guarantee you they wouldn't be anything compared to the tech that nike puts in today. I didn't say that this shoe was the best or anything, but it's nice to see silhouettes evolving. It's great to see different ideas being implemented. Keep in mind, this isn't the only version of the shoe...
Let's be honest. The Kobe logo is the ugliest and the sock liner with that huge ugly ass logo makes it look worse. Plus $180 price tag makes it look like a garbage.
im not going to pay $180 for these when i could get a hightop shoe that would do the sam ething and save me money
@kstaud: Dude, nobody fucking care of your lame sugarcoat. keep that nose growing Pinocchio!!!!
these are ugly. and nike had the nerve 2 beat people in the head with that $180 price tag. fuck outta here smh
The more they show details of these 7's, the more I'm having withdrawal syndromes. I guess I need an aspirin now. ....add the $180 sticker price..now I'm vomitting!
obviously they said it will be 180 for that model of the VII the regular version will be 140. pay attention
i would have to see these on someones feet to be able to say if i like them or not yet
These shoes are AWEFUL! And I guarantee its not comfortable to play in a bootie thats seperate from the shoe and sliding around. So not only do they look crazy, they're not even functional
Yea, cause they would release a signature shoe to an all-star NBA player that has no functionality. Its a performance shoe! Fuck how the VIIs "look", it's a great concept and I guarantee that the bootie will not slide around. Only possibility to even coming close to that is overuse of the shoe will stretch the bootie permanently.
the bootie is attached to the insole.... please know what youre talking about instead of being ignorant next time.
