One of the earliest PEs ever created was this Air Jordan IX created for Michael Jordan’s backcourt mate, the baby-faced B.J. Armstrong. In 1994, Armstrong made the All-Star team (in fact, he was a starter) and rocked the Air Jordan IX – an unofficial tribute to Jordan, who had retired from the game of basketball prior to the season. Just looking at the stats alone, you might wonder how Armstrong got the starting nod ahead of the three other guards on the East squad who had better all-around numbers than he did (Mark Price, John Starks, and Mookie Blaylock), but perhaps the coach was so accustomed to penciling in “Chicago Bulls – Guard” into the starting line-up and completely forgot that MJ was gone. In any case, these PEs are one of the rarest we’ve ever seen, so check out the extra shots as well as an in-game image of Armstrong rocking the kicks and let us know what you think. via phase2x.
