Sneaker Pimps Philly 2011 – Event Recap

The Sneaker Pimps traveling tour continued this past weekend, stopping at one of the most historic cities in the entire nation. Philadelphia was home to this latest Sneaker Pimps event, which featured a live performance by Kendrick Lamar, the latest signee of Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label. Aside from the live music, Sneaker Pimps Philly featured a number of sneaker vendors and showcases for buy/sell/trade purposes. Where will Sneaker Pimps stop next? Event was good as a vendor, a lot of opportunity. BUT, sucked as a sneaker event. 87% of people in there were only there to see kendrick lamar.
shit looked retarded glad i missed it ...... ...... ...... sneaker events should be about vendors trading and selling sneakes and gear not some lamb rap concert if i wanted to eatch a beat show i go do that oooooo well maybe one day we might get a sneakercon type event that would be what im feeling ......

Sneakerpimps philly was lame. Wasn't what I thought it would be its just a traveling concert with oh yea sneakers there also. A big excuse for people to dress in their best kicks and freshest gear and strut around. I saw the guy wearing the movie props on his feet. They were sold for a good cause I'm not arguing that but that is the pinnacle of hype. Should have more vendors and make it more like a dunkexchange or sneakercon.
yea I agree with you. Im glad I didnt go. Id prefer a dunxchange type event. I dont care much to see any of those artists featured

Wearing Nike Mags in public feels embarrassing. i guess coz they're not really sneakers, more like movie props. Maybe if they had power laces it'd be all right. But it is a way of telling ppl you have a lot of money to spend on accessories though. I guess thats why ppl buy Ferraris. Looked like a fun event though!
I kinda agree... I would rock em as part of a Marty McFly costume with the auto dry jacket, blue jeans and snapback... I'd win any costume contest!

If was in Chicago on Sept 23rd didnt u hear of the Blackstar concert with Sneaker Pimps at House of Blues? I didnt think so because they did such a bad job of putting on the event....advertising/info etc and Im in Milwaukee

I'm pretty sure that vendor knows a bit about his kicks...So just because you overpaid for yours at FlightClub, and think you know a little something about sneakers don't falsely call someone out, and an entire city... That makes you lame
