The recent Converse collaboration with Kicks HI showed that they’ve got love for the tropical locales. Lest the rest of us be left in the cold, Converse has cooked up a furry version of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star for those of us who have to endure the winter. Aside from the classic canvas upper, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Natarb Mid has a suede toe cap and of course the furry lining that is incredibly event with even a passing glance at the sneaker. Coming in both a navy and white colorway, this pair of Chucks should hit retailers in November. Get the full look after the jump and let us know if you approve of the latest from Converse.

And we thought we’d never see Supra drop a sneaker that wasn’t part of a pack again. Turns out they’ve still got it in them to drop a stand alone shoe, although you wouldn’t know it based on how pack crazy they’ve been recently. No crazy colorway or homage going on here, just some serious black joints dipped in a premium full grain leather. The mid soles on the bottom of this Supra Society Mid break up the black, coming in a pristine white for a bit of contrast. Follow us after the jump for the full look and grab the Supra Society Mid ‘Full Grain’ at your local Supra spot now.

The Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ with the ’45′ on the heel is one of the rarest Air Jordan samples out there. While this pair of custom Space Jams aren’t exactly a direct Jordan Brand product, it still captures that rare-sample mystique. Here’s a look at a pair of 2009 Retro Space Jams with MJ’s ’45′ jersey number lasered on the upper ankle of the medial side of the shoes; the laser customs were done at the Jordan Brand Experience during the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend, when Jordan fans were given the rare opportunity to add Jordan-centric laser-graphics on their items. The owner of these Space Jams got a bit creative and decided to add the ’45′ on this deadstock pair – an idea unlikely duplicated by anyone else! Check out a closer shot of the ’45′ laser as well as general shots of these Air Jordan beauties below, and if you like the concept behind the ’45′, check out the auction from noname2828 on eBay.

It’s been a while since the last Sneaker Cake, but every time these tasty treats surface, we can’t help but show ‘em! Here’s a look at a sneaker cake molded in the form of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Banned’, made for NT member CJDynasty’s 27th birthday, who shows off his celebratory masterpiece alongside the actual shoes. It’s apparent that these cake bosses are getting better and better by the day with these sneaker cakes, because the detail on this ‘Banned’ cake is rather impressive; the perforations on the toe-box, the Nike Air logo on the tongue, and the ‘Banned’ X logo on the shoes as well as on the box are all spot on! Sneaker News wishes a Happy Birthday to a fellow sneakerhead, but for the rest of you, enjoy the sweet pics below!

Like Eli, Nike just ‘did it’. Welcome back the Nike Air Speed Turf Max, possibly one of the greatest releases in the 90′s Nike Football era. It comes equipped with everything we loved about mid-90′s Nike Trainers – Max Air on the heel, a sleek midfoot strap, and a super-aggressive midsole design; we commonly associate the OG White/Teal/Orange/Black colorway to Dan Marino, long considered one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. Arriving in 2012 is the Nike Air Speed Turf Max in the OG Dolphins colorway and the OG Black/White colorway (but with a silver Max Air unit – the original was neon green). Also dropping alongside those two originals is a Navy/White colorway and a Grey/Green color-up. The Air Speed Turf Max has been one of most high-demand Retro releases for a while, but will that translate to box-office success, given the moderate success of recent Trainer Retros? Check out all four below and let us know what you think.

Bespokes have been churning out on the regular from 21 Mercer and Nike Harajuku from a wide variety of collectors and sneaker aficionados, but Bespoke-regular and ATF Crew member Mayor reminded us that he’s one of Bespoke’s best by tweeting his latest Bespoke creation, titled ‘Game Over’. It could easily be retitled as ‘Mayor Over’, as it features his signature graffiti-esque insignia printed all over the upper and on the insole of the shoe, and the basic colorway of royal blue and pink provides a simple, easy-going base for the eccentric print, with the customary gum outsole providing the classic Air Force 1 touch. Like what you see? Let us know what you think below.

The latest mashup we’re profiling here on sneakernews combines the unlikeliest of contributors. Never before have any but the craziest of sneakerheads even dreamed of Frankensteining the adidas ZX 8000, New Balance 580 and Nike Air Max 90 into one mega-classic runner, but that’s exactly what 3D artist and illustrator Chris LaBrooy has done with his ‘Sneaker Tectonics’. This work would be right at home in a world where the top brands continue to unite under larger corporate umbrellas, but are we really ready for a Nike x NB x Three Stripes collabo? Click through to see one form it could take and stick with Sneaker News for the latest sneaker-inspired art from around the world.

It’s been about six weeks since we’ve seen a new Reebok Kamikaze III Mid colorway hit retailers, but luckily, there are still a few on the way for the holiday season. This throwback to the mid-’90s takes on an interesting twist with a Freshwater-like colorway you might have expected to see from one of Nike Sportswear’s Ken Griffey Jr. retro line. A blue and red pair could be seen as a Sixers getup to move things back to a more familiar RBK territory, while grey, black and white is sufficiently neutral that no one can lay claim to it, yet the combo is essentially impeccable. Check out all three in greater detail after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates. via EK

Nike is treating the Ken Griffey Jr. signature line much like it is the Nike Air Penny line. Both players, who are highly regarded in their respective sports, still maintain a cult following years after their prime seasons. The Air Penny line has been mashed up to produce some notable hybrids like the Air 1/2 Cent and Zoom Rookie LWP, but the Griffey line has yet to see a multi-signature hybrid shoe (but stay tuned for 2012). Shoes like the Air Max Griffey Fury is a mere reconstruction of the Air Diamond Fury, with the re-make featuring a Hyperfuse-laden upper with a 360 Max Air unit with a silhouette similar to the Air Max JR. This upcoming Royal/Volt/White colorway (we’ll refer to it as the ‘Sprite’) is set for a Spring 2012 release, so check out the extra images below and let us know what you think. via kumastock.

Fall 2011′s Nike Sportswear Hyperfuse line featured classic Air Max models like the Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 redone in the Hyperfuse upper. While we haven’t seen other Air Max models with the same upper reconstruction (they are coming, though), the upcoming Air Max 95 360 appears to have the lightweight shell as the primary piece of the upper shell. Match that with a 360 Max Air unit and you pretty much have the the same cushioning and comfort of the Air Max 2011 or the Trainer 1.3 Max. These two upcoming colorways of the OG ‘Neon’ and a Grey/Orange will hit retail in during the Summer 2012 season, so check out detailed angles of both below and let us know what you think. via kumastock.

We’re happy to say that it looks like the Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is here to stay for the Fall/Winter season. This flashy boot with the sole of a runner does the hybrid thing correctly, with the lightweight LunarLon addition looking right under the tough ACG upper of the shoe. A typical theme for the Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is an earthy upper paired with a bit of flash in the lacing system, but this colorway takes it a bit further-giving the upper a lighter overall look for a unified feel. These are starting to pop up overseas at spots like Mita, but stick with Sneaker News for info on a pending US release date. Full pics after the jump.

One thing is for certain for 2012: Lot’s of Ken Griffey Jr. signatures. The Nike Air Total Griffey Max ’99 has already been confirmed for 2012, but we’ve yet to see a detailed look of the upcoming Retro until now, as it surfaces in an all-new Grey/Royal/Volt colorway. The upper features Dark Grey nubuck with electrifying Volt accents on the inner lining, swoosh, outsole, and Max Air unit, with Varsity Royal providing a nice cool contrast on the tongue tab and the ‘tidal wave’ on the heel section of the shoe. Continue reading to see these Air Total Griffey Max ’99s for yourself and be sure to keep in tune with Sneaker News for more Nike Retro updates. via kumastock.
