The biggest oddball topic of the 2010-11 NBA Season was easily the story of Gilbert Arenas and his sneaker endeavor. Roughly wearing a new pair of kicks for each game, Gilbert Arenas stayed at the top of the Sneaker News NBA Feet wire for debuting some notable kicks throughout the season – the D&G high-tops, the Air Foamposite One ‘Royal’, the Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’, and more. One notable NBA Feet moment was when he wore the Reebok Question Mid in a Blue/White colorway when he was with Orlando; as we all know, Gilbert Arenas is a free agent in the sneaker market, so these Question Mid PEs could’ve been presented to him directly from Reebok to Gil when he was a Wizard, or might’ve been a gift from former teammate John Wall, who wears the same size as ‘ol Gil. We’ve got extra shots of this autographed PE of the Reebok Question Mid below, so take a look and let us know what you think. via phase2x.

The legend of Penny Hardaway has never been more celebrated than it has this year. With countless Foamposite One/Pro releases already occurring throughout the year, Nike Sportswear will finally introduce to the public the Nike Zoom Rookie – the second Penny-centric hybrid model combining his Rookie Year kicks. One part Air Flight One, another part Air Go LWP, and a healthy dash of Foamposite will result in this finely tuned hybrid design, but before the customary Blue colorway hits, the Glow In The Dark colorway will be first to roll out the Zoom Rookie carpet. You can be among the first to grab these limited releases tomorrow at select Nike Sportswear retailers like 21 Mercer, Extra Butter, WEST NYC, and Moe’s among others, with a few more spots set to release the GITD Rookie this weekend. If you prefer to shop in the luxury and convenience of your Ikea swivel chair, you can get a pair right now on eBay.

The Nike Air Yeezy 2 is slowly becoming like the ‘Loch Ness Monster’ of sneakers. Is the shoe a myth? Unless you know the guy personally, you’ve probably only seen pictures of Air Yeezy 2 on Kanye’s feet when he’s out and about the city, but in a trailer of the ‘Watch The Throne’ Tour, we see the Air Yeezy 2 on the feet of Kanye while he’s coasting around on a skateboard. This latest viewing doesn’t exactly reveal any new developments, although it does shed some light on the interesting materials used for the upper on the Air Yeezy 2. Glow in the dark, perhaps? Check out the video stills of the Air Yeezy 2 and let us know what you think, and head to VOYR to check out the video for yourself.

Just yesterday Sneaker News showed you a Royal/Volt/White ‘Sprite’-ish colorway of the Nike Air Max Griffey Fury. If you’d rather not obey your thirst for super-bright colorways, here’s a look at two upcoming Fury colorways that are both Mariners-specific and easier on the eyes; the Teal/Black colorway boldly represents Griffey Jr.’s beginning in the Pacific Northwest by ‘retro’-ing the OG colorways of the Diamond Fury, and the second Black/Silver/Neon green is simply a classic colorway that experiences a welcome nod from sneakerheads of all types. Aside from the ‘wow’ factor that most Griffeys tend to possess, the Air Max Griffey Fury is as comfortable as it is ‘rockable’, as it supported by 360-degree Max Air. More images of both colorways await you below, so take a good look and let us know what you think. via kumastock.

Good news folks: The Nike Air Force 1 is returning to Nike iD this November 1st. If it’s going to be anything like the previous Nike Air Force 1 iD releases, expect them to limited to some degree with a first-come-first-serve basis. This teaser image, provided by Nike iD, suggests that maybe some new materials are on the way – possibly a luxurious wool for the fitting winter season. Got some ideas on hand, or missed out on previous Air Force 1 iD offerings? Don’t fret, because it’s returning next Tuesday!

After a few luxury-oriented releases floundered in Jordan Brands earlier years, they finally perfected the winter boot equation by ruggedizing some of the brand’s more popular hybrids. Winterized Spizikes and Six Rings have the Jumpman riding quite a bit of momentum into this cold weather season when they’re being joined by a couple of new Max Air-cushioned designs. The Flight 45 TRK is an obvious takeoff on the lifestyle sneaker that carries a similar name, but the Jordan City Air Max TRK is unique for its apparent lack of connection to anything that’s come before it. An Air Max 97-style cushion will bring about some CMFT comparisons, but none of those can rival the sheer earthiness offered by grey/yellow, brown/orange and blackout colorways, all of which are currently available at select JB retailers like Citysole.

“I waited my whole life to be the man of the hour . . . “
It’s hard to know exactly how long twenty-three year-old Detroit rapper Big Sean has been watching the throne, but just the name of his debut record should give some indication that dude feels like his time to shine is overdue. Following up on Finally Famous is the DJ Mo Beatz x Big Sean x adidas Originals Finally Originals mixtape, featuring remixes from . . . Famous by a variety of up and coming producers. We’d just seen Sean’s leopard print Superstar shelltoes last week, and the promo video for this new selection of songs shows that there’s a snakeskin adidas Originals Superstar High on the way as well. Click through for a sampling of both the tunes and the shoes and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all the upcoming Big Sean x adidas Originals projects.

Soulja Boy is one of the names that can be used to describe the current generation of hip-hop. He rose to fame during an era of music where catchy lines and claims of ‘balling’ are what constitutes the big hits, and his internet tune became a major success and reached the apex of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Four years later, Soulja Boy has more than an internet hit to jot down on his resume – in fact, his list of accomplishments and endeavors might be more impressive than artists groomed and bred by record labels. It’s a fact that Soulja Boy is a self-made millionaire, shrewdly putting the use contemporary modes of communication (uh, the internet), and he’s using that sweet money to buy himself some sick kicks, like the Nike Mag 2011 that he just recently ‘laced’ up on his feet. Check out more of Soulja Boy and the Nike Mag 2011 and let us know what you think of his kicks!

Jordan Brand is going H.A.M. for the launch of the Jordan Melo M8, introducing the Jordan Melo M8 Flight Lab 159 (still open, by the way) and presenting the Jordan Brand Melo M8 NYC Flight Event. If you missed out on the live show last Thursday, you missed out on one of the dopest product launch events we’ve ever seen; featuring a video of Carmelo Anthony projected onto water, splashing up from the Hudson River. Last week, Jordan Brand hooked you up with a behind-the-scenes look at this awesome set-up, and now you can check out the final video spot, set to officially debut later today and let us know what you think!

As we’ve detailed before, the upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VII will be introduced in three separate installments – a ‘regular’ Nike Zoom Kobe VII, a ‘Supreme’, and an ‘Elite’. Let’s focus on the base grade of the Kobe VII; featuring the removable insole/ankle sleeve, the Kobe VII features ‘Play Fast’ cushioning and support system, which utilizes a lock-down sleeve at the midfoot for a low-cut design. In contrast, the Zoom Kobe VII Supreme, which we will detail later, features a ‘Play Strong’ set-up. Additional details of the Kobe VII include the visible Zoom Air window at the heel, an XDR outsole for supreme traction, and a uniquely designed upper, exuding a snakeskin silhouette.
