Could this be the best week of WDYWT of the year? This line-up this in the Sneaker News Blogs: Best of WDYWT is incredibly strong, with fierce offerings from all different genres. Air Max is represented well by the Atmos x Air Max 95 and the Homegrown Air Max 90, as is Nike Basketball with a sick pair of Zoom 2K3s and two eye-catching Foamposites. LeBrons are in top shape with the LeBron 8 ’112′ as well as the Miami Nights (both 9 Mid and 8 Low). But we always keep an eye out for Air Jordans, and the Air Jordan 1 is at center stage, with the Quai 54, Levi’s, and a pair of ’94 Retros from a WDYWT regular being worthy of votes. Check out this week’s twenty best and don’t forget to vote for your favorite on the final page!

There may be a lockout going on in the NBA right now, but the game of basketball never stops. Jordan Brand has embraced the current labor situation with good humor as seen in the ‘Love The Game’ video below. It appears that Team Jordan superstars Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul are indeed keeping their skills sharp in the meantime, participating in a variety of leagues around the world – from a Miami senior citizen league, to a Jewish under-40 league in NYC and even a New Orleans women’s league before eventually moving the fun overseas. The video will officially debut tonight during Monday Night Football, but you can check out some chuckles from all these scenarios and more now after the jump, as well as on the Jumpman23 Youtube Channel.

The Jordan CP3.V was officially unveiled earlier this month during the Jordan Brand Flight Forum that was held at the Nike Campus. While we won’t see the official release of the Jordan CP3.V until January of 2012, Chris Paul has provided a healthy preview of the upcoming sneaker as he’s worn them during the All-Star exhibition games (he wore the White/Black colorway during the most recent OKC All-Star game). Here’s a look at two Summer 2012 release of the Jordan CP3.V; the Varsity Red/White and Obsidian/Varsity Royal-White colorways could possibly denote All-Star Game colorways, although the shortened season my cancel the All-Star Weekend entirely. With CP3 in the final year of his contract, do you think he’ll stay with red (West) or move on to bluer pastures (East)? Check out the additional shots of both colorways below and let us know what you think.

Look up “bat speed” in a baseball dictionary, and you’ll likely see Gary Sheffield’s name listed; while in the minors, Sheff was actually advised by his coaches to slow down his bat because he would hit 400-ft. foul balls into the bleachers. Since he’s made that adjustment, Sheffield has bounced around to a number of teams, bringing with him his lightning-quick swing and menacing batting stance. Good for around 35 bombs a game while batting above .300, Sheffield finally reached the 500 home-run milestone during his last season as a pro. It came during his tenure with the Mets, during which Sheffield rocked this sick PE of the Air Jordan IX in the classic Metropolitan White/Black/Blue/Orange colorway. It features a white patent leather mudguard with white constrast stitching on the black upper, orange and blue accents, and his ’10′ stitched at the heel. These rare PEs are brought to us by Air Jordan PE extraordinaire Phase2, so take a look below and let us know what you think.

The trio of Nike LeBron 9 PE’s aligned with NCAA teams has assured us that King James’ latest signature sneaker will see some time in the court, despite the lockout status of the NBA. Even better is the fact they will be up for grabs for the public, albeit without the branding of the respective universities. Among the three, the above pictured ‘Miami Hurricanes’ version speaks the most to LeBron’s current status, repping the colors of the University of Miami with the military style combo of green and orange. Get a full look at this upcoming Nike LeBron 9 colorway after the jump, and although they’re not scheduled to drop until late November, be on the lookout as they’ve already arrived at spots like BX Sports.

The initial LunarSpider+ colorways were launched last winter when Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER collaborated with Nike Running on a capsule for the Gyakosou International Running Association. Jun and UNDERCOVER came back with a new duo of just-dropped releases for the upcoming Nike LunarSpider+ 2 that just released in Japan, the land whose institutions of higher learning now serve as inspiration for this latest pack. The Nike Ekiden Collection brings together five white-based LunarSpider+ R 2s in honor of a number of local universities’ running clubs, and also includes new full-zip AW77 hoodies and tees to complete the theme. Check out the entire capsule in additional images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on the release date. via Sneak-R

According to the traditional Chinese Zodiac, 2012 will mark the Year of the Dragon. Hopefully we’ll get to see Kevin Durant’s inner dragon emerge this NBA season, but despite the 2011-12 Season still in shambles, Nike Basketball is pushing as strong as ever with its three signature Nike Basketball sneakers – one of which is Kevin Durant’s Nike Zoom KD IV. Here’s a look at a special edition ‘Year of the Dragon’ colorway; it features that familiar Blue/Orange colorway (ahem, Nike LeBron 9 ‘China’) with a unique graphic on the strap as well as the tongue, signifying the beautiful scales of the powerful dragon. The ‘Year of the Dragon’ Nike Zoom KD IV is set for a release this Spring 2012, so continue reading for another look of these on-feet (alongside the ‘Nerf’ colorway) and let us know what you think. via Leo_Chang.

The debut of the Air Jordan 2012 (XXVI) is only a few months away, but thus far, we’ve only seen just two snapshots. Jordan Brand has done a great job at keeping its new designs under wraps, and today, we have a good look at a sample Black/Volt Green colorway of the Air Jordan 2012, which looks a bit different from the sample we showed you earlier this month. The sample featured what appeared to be a one-piece, seamless Flywire shell, but this sample version sheds light on some interesting materials on the upper, which fortifies the construction at the ankle, midfoot, and toe. Ample Flywire cables are evident all across the upper, with the midsole once again showing off a unique lasered detailing. We also have a peek at the outsole, which hints at a midfoot plate and horizontal grooves on the forefoot. Check out the additional shots below and stick with Sneaker News for more Air Jordan 2012 updates and developments. via 23RAKIM45 on NT.
