Air Jordan XIV White Red | 2012 Retro

Michael Jordan’s last shot with the Bulls came in the Black/Red Air Jordan XIV in ’98, but his legacy has remained strong and sturdy for generations thereafter. This White/Red OG colorway of the XIV was never actually worn by Michael, but the Air Jordan XIV is widely considered to be part of the ‘Championship Bulls-era’ of Air Jordans, even though Michael wore them for just 1.5 games. Following the December 2011 release of the Last Shot XIV is the 2012 re-release of the White/Red ‘Bulls’ colorway, which last released in 2005 alongside a slew of new and old XIVs. Continue reading a detailed look at the 2012 release and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more udpates. via MarqueeSole.

Supra Swamp Pack

Owing at least in part to the popularity of the Air Jordan Legacy and MJ’s loyalty to the University of Carolina, soft blue shades have been common on all kinds of sneakers for quite a while.  It’s easy to push these muted blues toward pastel or make them metallic the greyer they look, but considerably more rare to see the same attention given to equally capable shades of green.  So if you like the look of sage but don’t want the saturation of a mint green, Supra has a new swamp thing we think you’ll love for sure.  The Supra Swamp Pack is an icky name to apply to such a smooth trio of green gunny TUF’d and burgundy accented hightops.  The Supra Society, Sktyop and Thunder all look to be in peak condition and you’ll be able to get one or all three right now straight from Supra.

Converse First String Straight Shooter New Images

Because of both its brand legacy and current status in the world of performance footwear, Converse is a brand known for relying on its greatest hits.  We’ve seen the Jack Purcell and Chuck Taylor redone in countless themes and variations, but here’s one that’d gone so underutilized that it was released with an entirely different model name.  The Converse First String Straight Shooter is actually inspired by a 1950s version of the Chuck Taylor All Star whose asymmetrical toecap preceded the Nike All Court by quite a few years, but a LunarLon-cushioned EVA cupsole will remind you it’s 2011.  You can see more of the black and burgundy pairs after the jump and then look for these at First String retailers like Melbourne’s Up There.

Nike SB P Rod V Mid Olive Black White

The winter months typically aren’t very forgiving for skateboarders. With wet weather being a daily occurrence, skating in the rain or snow just doesn’t work. Fortunately that trend won’t be reflected in Nike SB‘s release calender, with plenty of new colorways dropping for their line up of signature sneakers in the coming months. The shown here is one of those, with the almost military-green olive on the upper coming as a nice neutral choice for Paul’s latest. Get a full look at the flat bronzed olive/black/white colorway after the jump and let us know if you will be scooping these up. If so, you can catch them now at Flatspot.

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 10/15 10/21

The third week into October, and still no NBA season. Around this time of year, fans of basketball and sneakers (a rather large overlapping sample set) typically prepare for the opening of the NBA season, waiting to see what new sneakers are on court. Unfortunately, we don’t have that luxury this year, but NBA stars have done their best to keep fans happy, and Sneaker News has continued its non-stop reporting of the best shoes of the present and the future. Starting off with Jordan Brand, Sneaker News gave you a look at two colorways of the Jordan Son Of Mars, a purported sequel to the Air Jordan Spiz’ike. Other upcoming sneakers like the LeBron 9 co-designed by Miami-based artist Freegums also caught our attention. Nike SB debuted its November collection, but news of yet another delay on the Entourages put a damper on eager spirits. Celebrities were out and about once again, with Kanye, Wale, Fabolous, and Entourage’s Turtle being spotted with some sick kicks.

In Retro news, a new Black/Yellow Air Max NM caused a stir, leaving our readers to debate on a nickname for the upcoming shoe. Penny Hardaway showed off an all-white pair of Foamposite Ones, which aren’t likely to release. The Nike Air Force 1 was a popular topic, as we brought you an exclusive look at some 2012 releases as well as the N7 colorway. Dunks will be ‘Deconstructed’ as well, as we showed you a trio of the Nike Dunk High Deconstruct, following last week’s Air Force 1 Deconstruct news. In adidas news, the ’98 All-Star colorway of the Crazy 8 released, and adidas Originals collaborated with an icon of a passed generation (The Muppets) and separately with a pop sensation of the current (Korea’s 2NE1). In sneaker events, Carmelo Anthony and Jordan Brand teamed up on a ‘takeover’ of NYC, with the FlightLab159 exhibit, a special event on one of NYC’s piers, and the debut of the ‘Post-Up’ iPhone app. Other notable events took place in Chicago, where D-Rose and adidas unveiled the adiZero Rose 2, and in Philly, where Sneaker Pimps made its latest stop. We’ve got plenty more from this week, so check out the Sneaker News Weekly Rewind and get caught up!

Vintage Sneaker Bonanza on eBay

If you’re looking for that age-old grail – that one shoe you had when you were a kid that you won’t stop until you get in your hands again, eBay is probably your best bet. Despite all the Retro sneakers that have released over the years, for most brands, the majority of the entire 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s catalogs have remained untouched. Some of the gems that have surfaced from one single seller are the James Worthy New Balance P700s, the turf-ready Nike Land Shark along with a grip of Nike Trainers and Runners, a pair of the Asics Gel Intensity, Ewing Rogues, and a ton more from various brands. Check out some of the bright spots from this vintage treasure trove and visit all these live auctions from rosker on eBay. Thanks to SF for the heads up.

Nike Air Max JR White Sox + Cincinnati Reds | Release Reminder

When we associate a superstar player with one team, seeing said star wear another jersey is a rather tough pill to swallow. Griffey in a White Sox uni, Patrick Ewing in a Sonics/Magic jersey, heck, even MJ in Wizards Blue/Gold was a bit funky. will always be tied to White/Teal Mariners colors, and although he poetically ended his career by returning to Seattle, we can’t overlook his years as a Cincinnati Red and his short span with the Southside White Sox. Just yesterday, Sneaker News gave you notice about the Cincinnati Reds Air Max JR releasing in November, but it looks like some retailers, like MrRSports, will drop them early tomorrow, alongside the ‘White Sox’ edition (which will drop on Nikestore). Still not sure which one you like better? Check out the detailed shots below and let us know your pick, and be sure to snag one of the two (or both) tomorrow at Nike Sportswear retailers or on eBay.

Nike LeBron 9 Miami Nights Arriving @ Retailers

designer Jason Petrie recently confirmed this Cool Grey/Cherry colorway of the LeBron 9 to be this year’s high-energy ‘Miami Nights’ installment. These are clearly a lot more subtle than the LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Miami Nights’, but convey the same message; Miami Nights are about parties. The Dark Grey/Black combo is a clear signature of night-time, which the Cherry and Purple point to the dazzling night-club colors (all you need is a bottle of your favorite spirits to get the night started). The ‘Miami Nights’ is currently set for a release on November 4th, but some LeBron accounts like Millenium Shoes has their stock in early, so check out these new shots of this upcoming release below and let us know if you like this subtler ‘Miami Nights’ over the previous version.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke By Matthew Lauretti

Nike iD allows sneakerheads to implement their favorite colorways onto their favorite sneakers. The Bespoke experience at 21 Mercer, with its wider array of colors and eclectic variety of materials, allows sneakerheads to go a lot further with their inspirations. Matthew Lauretti, a 21-year-old who recently relocated to New York from Italy, used his regional transition as the muse for his creation, utilizing NY-specific colorways, like the Blue/Orange combination, with traveler lizard leather in a rich blue coast blue. On the lace-dubrae is ‘New York’ engraved in a luxurious font, with the heel-tab providing an additional message with ‘New Life’. Check out the extra angles of Lauretti’s Bespoke and let us know what you think of this inspired design.

Asics Gel Lyte III Spring/Summer 2012 Releases

Much of the Asics retro catalog has been out of the reach of American sneaker heads for a while now. Historically commanding much more attention across the pond, their line of Gel’s and the like will thankfully see an increased presence in the US come 2012. Of course that means we’ll be seeing plenty of the classic split-tongue . We’ve got a quick preview of two pairs set for the Spring/Summer 2012 season that go hand in hand, coming in alternating black and white colorways. Along with the leather uppers are some nice canvas sections, a material that you don’t see too often on the Gel Lyte III. Get the full look at both pairs after the jump and stick with us for release info on these come next year. via Suede&Mesh
