Nike Street Gato CR7 Cristiano Ronaldo

Nike has given increased attention to indoor soccer shoes over the past year or so, starting with the Lunar Gato that offered its take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s completely Safari’d Mercurial Vapor Superfly II.  From the Lunar Gato emerged the Street Gato, a decidedly more aggressive pyrimidal traction surface on the medial toe and instep among the more unique design elements we’ve seen on any shoe in 2011.  The name of this shoe is still the Nike5 Street Gato, but now there’s a CR7 attached to the end as we come full circle for a Ronaldo-inspired edition in Light Bone leather that references his Real Madrid jersey number.  The addition of a vibrant red sockliner underlines the Street Gato’s capacity for both performance and street-level casual style; look at them in more detail by clicking on the jump below.  via SF

NBA Lockout Feet: LeBron James & Kevin Durant In Akron

ESPN’s Top 100 ranking of NBA players has been the hottest topic in NBA news (with the exception of the lock-out). Food for thought – one team has #1 and #3, while another has #5 with his best teammate coming in at #37. Who wins in a series? The NBA is a league of superstars, but NBA champions are determined by teams, and while LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were placed #1 and #3 overall (respectively), Dirk Nowitzki, who led the Mavericks to a championship in just six games, was ranked at #5. The controversy surrounding ESPN’s rankings should keep NBA fans busy for some time, but the players themselves have kept busy with work-outs and scrimmages (as well as making plans for the 6-game world tour); #1 (LeBron) and #6 (KD) were recently spotted in Akron shooting some hoops, with LeBron wearing the Air Max LeBron VII ‘Kentucky’ PE and KD wearing the Zoom KD IV (releasing in December). They were also spotted pool-side, with LeBron wearing a pair of low-cut, mid-foot strapped Nike Trainers. Check out the images of the NBA stars below and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Lockout Feet! via terezowens.

Jordan Post Up Carmelo Anthony iPhone App

With the introduction of the Jordan Brand Post-Up iPhone App, Carmelo Anthony’s takeover of New York City now goes virtual! Take pictures of your favorite NYC scenery (the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Chicken & Rice carts on 53rd St. and 6th Ave.) and super-impose images of the Knicks superstar, his Jordan Melo M8, or his new Jordan Brand logos onto the images. It’s a little fun App to keep you busy during your commute (or your boring History lecture). Look for it in the App store!

Nike SB Dunk Low Entourage GR New Images

Recently Jerry Ferrara, who plays the role of ‘Turtle’ in the hit show Entourage, was spotted in the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Loon’ while strolling around NYC with his girlfriend Alexandra Blodgett. One common question among our readers was: “Why didn’t he wear the Entourage Dunks?” Turtle definitely has a few pairs in his stash, and Nike SB fans were supposed to receive this ‘GR’ version on Black Friday, but it looks like the release has been pushed back yet again. Until that date is confirmed and concrete, bask in these new images of the Entourage SB Dunks, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates. via N-SB. If you’ve got the dough to drop on the Friends and Family version, cop a pair now on eBay.

Converse First String Straight Shooter Spec Hi

The first Flywire-equipped Converse sneakers are on the way soon, and it looks like that’s not the only Nike, Inc. innovation being shared across brand lines.  It’s not just that the new Converse First String Straight Shooter Spec Hi looks like a cousin to the All Court with its asymmetrical toecap that connects these to the Swoosh, because they also have a LunarLon-cushioned sole for one of the nicest combinations of classic-turned-modern style and premium tech elements we’ve seen in the lifestyle market.  The black and burgundy pairs are accented by white stitching to match the sole, a line that separates the mostly suede upper from a textile cutout and makes even more obvious how rich the former material really is.  Check out both pairs after the jump and look for these at Converse First String retailers like Foot Patrol.

Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield Rivalry Pack Army + Navy

The competitive nature among the divisions of the United States Armed Forces represents itself quite well on the college football field, as the Army/Navy rivalry is as strained and heated as some of the most noted match-ups in history. The Army/Navy game dates back to 1890 and is commonly played in Philadelphia (somewhat of a neutral ground considering the city is roughly equidistant to both academies), and is now played during the second weekend of December – the final game of the season for both teams. The 112th annual Army/Navy Game will be held on Saturday, December 12th, but preceding that historic bout will be the release of the Army and Navy editions of the Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield ‘Rivalry Pack’; both versions represent the academy colors perfectly, with both pairs featuring special graphics on the heel. The Army utilizes a tonal beige colorway with the signature Army typefont on the heel, while the Navy uses a dark blue digi-camo with flag badges – both accurate depictions of each respective division. Expect both to hit Nikestore on December 9th at a price of $115 (and be quick with your draw because these will clear out fast).

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Umber Boulder White

To suggest that the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski does well with two-toned colorways adn a white vulc sole is a gross understatement.  Janoskis come in a range of variants these days, but you can always count on the application of a simple new colorway to demonstrate how much a great silhouette can do with so few colors.  The latest is a tonal brown suede combination of Umber and Boulder whose piping seems especially seamless with embroidered Swooshes streaking across the side panels in the same shade.  They’re a great go-to design if you need a versatile shoe on any but the sloppiest of winter days, and you’ll find them available now at select Nike SB stores including Flatspot.

Nike Air Max JR Cincinnati Reds November 2011

The recent release of the Nike Air Max JR have taken an unofficial formulaic approach of tonal colorways attributed to the teams that Ken Griffey Jr. played for. The last tonal-black pair we showed you was dubbed the ‘White Sox’, although Jr.’s time with the South Side was rather short. Here’s another look at the Tonal Red ‘Cincinnati Reds’ colorway – one we showed you back in March; it features a sinister Varsity Red covering the entire shoe with a white swoosh on the the toe as well as on accents on the lace-hoops. If the tonal team theme continues, how awesome would an all-Freshwater pair of JRs be? Check out the additional shots of this November 2011 release below and let us know what you think.
