Nike Air Force 1 Low N7

“Sport gives you self-confidence, enabling you to be a force for positive change in your community.”

The Nike N7 Collection is about to enter its third year with the goal of promoting sports and active lifestyles in the Native American and Aborigonal communities across this continent, and while the latest release isn’t in keeping with the traditional N7 lean toward performance models, but they do indeed push the series forward in terms of aesthetics. The Nike Air Force 1 Low N7 is easily the most detailed drop so far, its tonal brown patterned leather uppers taking over and leaving the traditionalvibrant red and blue tones in supporting roles. The angular leather detailing is great, but it’s up against serious competition with the metal-tacked Swoosh for the N7 AF1′s standout feature. Either way, is it safe to say this is the best N7 design so far? Let us know with a comment when you click through to see more shots and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the entire Nike N7 Collection.

Air Jordan III Jason Taylor Cleat PE

We recently saw the Air Jordan III get the yellow treatment on the ‘Pit Crew’ Air Jordan III’s, but this pair of cleats made for the Dolphins’ Jason Taylor takes it to another level. From the ankle collar all the way down to the elephant print, the boost of color on these really sets them apart, together with the one of a kind “JT 55″ embroidery on the tongue. Apparently made for him during his days with the Washington Redskins, the black and yellow colorway matches up much more with his hometown of Pittsburgh. Hit the jump for a better look and let us know how this Air Jordan III cleat ranks among the other non-basketball PE’s we’ve seen for the various Jordan models. via Phase2

New Balance HS77 Holiday 2011 Colorways

Further proof that you’re better off thinking of sneaker design in terms of modularity rather than being a staunch purist who stands against crosspollination: the latest New Balance is a classic runner turned trail shoe turned (arguably) even better trail shoe.  And even with advancements like a sonically welded upper and deeply-grooved Free-like outsole, the New Balance HS77 still absolutely resembles the legendary 574 upon which it’s based.  These three new colorways go for simple palettes like Leftfoot’s recent ‘Past, Present, Future’ collaboration, but a different colorblocking pattern suggests we’ve only begun to see what this model can do.  Click through to see more angles on all three pairs and stick with Sneaker News for word on their release date.  via mita sneakers

Usain Bolt x Puma Holiday 2011 Footwear

The phrase “The Michael Jordan of . . . ” is one of the more common sports expressions you might hear, though some have seen fit to rewrite it with MJ as the “Wayne Gretzky of basketball”.  Apples and oranges aside, both of these guys were lightyears ahead of their competition, a couple of luminary figures during the mid-’80s through the ’90s who dominated their games unlike anyone before or since.  And when the guy for whom this latest pack of sneakers was created is someone so fast he can gallop to a world record Olympic gold medal while looking back to taunt all the runners-up, you know there’s a valid comparison at hand.  Jamaican sprinting superman Usain Bolt hasn’t had as many signature shoes as MJ, but just like numbers 23 and 99, he is indeed among the sports world’s most impressive figures.  This new trio brings past and present together with the future of casual style as we see the Puma RS1Faas 400 and Hawthorne Trinomic in simple yet expressive neon-accented colorways.  Look at all three pairs after the jump, let us know which one’s best and pick yours up from a Puma retailer like Overkill.

ALIFE Fall 2011 Footwear Collection

When it comes to independent labels doing their thing in the footwear game, few names carry the weight of ALIFE. Longtime curators of the sneaker culture in the NYC area, the ALIFE team has been going hard with their in house collections and the Fall 2011 season is no exception. The drop spans a nice range of styles, with their ubiquitous Dunk tribute the Everybody High showing off some premium materials, and the group of lowtops rounding out the lifestyle look. Follows us after the jump for a full look at each sneaker from the Fall 2011 collection and get them now at any of the Alife flagships.

Jordan CMFT Viz Air 11 Concord Sample

Ever since the Jordan CMFT Viz Air 11 debuted in September of 2010 in the Sport Red and Varsity Royal colorways, the Viz 11 has experienced a broad spectrum of colorways, from the basic ‘Cool Grey’ to synthetic Carbon Fiber. Those who prefer a simpler approach to colorways would’ve enjoyed these unreleased White/Black samples of the Viz 11, which were originally destined for a release during the first three months of the calendar year. The similarities to the ‘Concord’ are obvious, although there is no patent leather or a translucent outsole on these. Would you have copped these if had they released? Check out the extra shots below and pay a visit to the live listing from oregonsole on eBay.

Air Jordan XI Space Jam C.C. Sabathia Cleat PE

Michael Jordan’s supremacy doesn’t restrict itself to basketball. The brand that began with one sneaker (that was subsequently banned by the league) has spread its wings to football, baseball, motorsports, and even jazz (yes, there is a jazz musician signed onto Jordan Brand). Even if dribbling a basketball isn’t your M.O., chances are you’ve wanted to ‘be like Mike’ in one way or another. C.C. Sabathia is one of the few Jordan Brand athletes in Major League Baseball, and we’ve documented his Air Jordan Cleat PEs over the years – one of the more notable ones being the Space Jams that he’s worn during significant outings. What makes this PE different from most of the PE Cleats we’ve seen is that the cleated outsole features a Jumpman logo, opposed to the Swoosh seen on quite a few others. Check out the extra shots of this deadstock pair of the Space Jam cleats and let us know who you would nominate to be the next Jordan Brand athlete in the MLB! via phase2x.

Air Jordan 2011 WAH DMP Inspired Custom

When seeking ‘amazing’, one doesn’t need to look beyond Michael Jordan. The ‘Where Amazing Happens’ slogan has been used to describe the dramatic events of the NBA, but davyc3 of Kenlu looks back to Michael Jordan for an inspiration of ‘amazing’, using the Air Jordan VI/XI DMP from 2006 as the inspiration behind this Nike iD custom. Davyc3 created this Air Jordan 2011 from Nike iD, then customized the Jordan logo on the tongue, heel, and outsole as well as the upper-most lace eyelets for that perfect touch of metallic gold – just like the Defining Moments Package that started the whole ‘Package’ craze. Check out the additional detailed angles of davyc3‘s customized Air Jordan 2011 iDs and let us know what other Air Jordans you’d like to see in that ‘DMP’ motif.

Nike SB Dunk High Cheech & Chong Gas Mask

What would life be like today without the stoner flick? Perennially overlooked by the Academy and inexplicably maligned by movie critics, the classic stoner film was a trail blazed by Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, resulting in some of the greatest visual stories ever told. All jokes aside, the duo of Cheech & Chong is a cultural icon that has been puffed and passed through multiple generations, serving as the inspiration behind this year’s 4/20 release of the Nike SB Dunk High. Freehand Profit, who you might recognize for his work on the Air Jordan 1 Gas Mask, rolled up a new gas mask made up of the Cheech & Chong SB Dunk High (with a custom attachment – what it’s for we haven’t the slightest *cough* clue). Check out the detailed shots of this sick project below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on these funky sneaker-inspired works of art!

Nike Dunk High Black Anthracite Medium Grey

If you’re a Dunk-fiend, like so many out there are, it’s hard to say no a clean and simple colorway like the Black/Grey joints you see here. On top of the great colorway is a nice set of materials – synthetic suede and leather – for the ‘perfect’ make-up of a Nike Dunk. Throw in nylon tongues and a faded medium grey suede swoosh and you have a GR release that is a throwback to the earlier years when the Nike Dunk reigned supreme. Titolo has these in stock right now, and U.S. stores may stock these as well (those Euro Dunks have been spotted on Nikestore), so check out the images below and let us know what you think.
