“This is my first review, and I’ll be showing you my new shoe: the adiZero Rose 2.”
The proponderance of affordable digital cameras in recent years has resulted in a sharp increase in the amount of sneaker review videos floating around on the internet. You’d expect to see an enthusiastic young collector when you check out these vids, so seeing the guy whose signature rests on the shoe itself is quite the rarity. And that’s where the latest Derrick Rose x adidas Basketball video comes in, a relatively candid look at D-Rose in a home theater where he’s getting down with his boys on some NBA2K11 and taking a quick timeout to discuss the new adidas adiZero Rose 2. Click on the jump below so you can see the video in its entirety and let us know what you think about NBA ballers reviewing their own shoes to take up some of their free time during the lockout.

When Sneaker News showed you the first images of this new collaboration back in July, word was that we could expect them at retail during the first half of 2012. That’s a long time to wait for any sneaker not titled ‘Air Jordan Retro’ or ‘Nike Mag’, so luckily, it turns out this new Hanon x Asics Gel Lyte III is headed out to store shelves rather soon. And the timing feels right for a shoe whose colorway could just as easily represent falling autumn leaves as the torch they preport to represent, this Gel Lyte III ‘Wildcats’ release much closer to Arizona State’s Sun Devils than the Arizona Wildcats. Check them out in a fairly extensive series of detailed images after the jump and watch for these to release on October 28th.

The 1996-born original upon which it’s based is unquestionably among the Air Jordan Legacy’s very most elegant designs, but did anyone expect the Air Jordan XII to be remade as a chukka? The signs were there with the CMFT Max Air 12 and coming up next year there’s a Jordan 12 Runner on the way that along with the above pictured Air Jordan XII Clave go for a more casual approach. Despite their name, these don’t appear to be your traditional autoclaved/vulcanized sole, either, as these appear a carbon fiber springplate away from the OG bottoms; could more surprises be in store for the AJ12 Clave? Look more closely at this Light Graphite, Stealth and white one coming up for next summer and let us know what you think of the Air Jordan XII Clave. via CK

Upon viewing these new Nike Air Max NMs yesterday, Sneaker News readers began offering up suggestions for nicknames. ‘Steelers’ and ‘Pirates’ were some, as was the ‘Wiz Khalifas’, in reference to the Pittsburgh native’s ‘Black & Yellow’ single. Truth is, Hideo Nomo never played for the Pirates (or the Steelers), and it’s unlikely that Nomo’s got hip-hop in his blood, but Black/Yellow’s been a popular sneaker colorway for a while – the Air Max DT ’96, the entire LIVESTRONG catalog, and so on. This new detailed look at the Air Max NM ‘Wiz Khalifa/Steelers/Pirates’ should give you a better idea of ‘cop’ or ‘pass’, so check out the gallery below and let us know if these are a must-have for you. via kicks-lab.

With so many variations available and hightops currently en vogue, the good ol’ fashioned Nike Dunk Low is enjoying a bit of time away from the burning spotlight. Here’s a new drop that combines a versatile colorway with a classic blocking pattern to obtain a timeless look you can keep in your rotation into perpetuity. So long as you don’t go crazy with black pants, you really can’t go wrong with with white leather topped by Obsidian and Neutral Grey, and the full grain look on the latter two gives a nice textural contrast as well. Click on the jump below so you can see this Yankees-leaning Dunk Low up close and personal and look for them at Nike Sportswear sellers like Titolo.

The twenty-first birthday is always a significant one and Nike will celebrate the Huarache series’ ‘adulthood’ with a variety of new releases for 2012. We’ve seen how the Zoom Huarache 2K4 will return alongside the new Air Huarache Basketball 2012, but it’s this one that’s closest to the originals that started it all. The Nike Huarache Free Run looks great in a sextet of colorways ranging from an OG-style ‘Sprite’-like look to a couple of soft blue-accented editions more in step with today’s casual sneaker trends. Check out all six after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the Huarache Free 2012 Run release dates. via CK

Among the great crimes against basketball fans perpetrated during the NBA’s latest lockout is how we’ve been robbed of one of the best crop of young point guards the league has ever seen. These past few years have been absolutely electric as we’ve seen young 1s like Chris Paul and Derrick Rose take the position to new heights in the wake of Steve Nash’s back-to-back MVP awards in the middle of last decade. The list goes on with guards like Deron Williams and the two guys pictured above all relying on the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 for their player exclusive sneaker needs. Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook’s PEs are made to match ‘home’ looks for the Celtics and Thunder, respectively, the kind of thing that’d make Kendrick Perkins come to tears. They could be tears of joy though, because these white-based Hyperfuse 2011s look quite crisp, especially Westbook’s ice-soled edition. Click through for more images of both pairs and stick with Sneaker News for the latest NBA PE sneakers, 2011-12 season or no. via Kenlu

The fact that Vans has squeezed so much out of a silhouette so simple as the Vans Era is a testament the strength of this no-frills sneaker. You’d think that there isn’t much more to do with this ubiquitous model, but Vans is here to prove us wrong again with the aptly titled Tri-Tone Pack. These three Eras each throw up a different color on the toe, mid section, and heel, with two of the three mixing in some contrast stitching for extra pop. Follow us after the jump for a better look at each and let us know if you’ll be copping these. If so, long time Vans supporter DQM in New York has them in stock as of now.

We’ve just seen Supra offer ‘Neon’ Air Max 95, ‘Infrared’ Air Max 90 and ‘McFly’-leaning colorways, so what’s behind this latest trio of releases from the crown brand? Well, Jordan Brand just released a ‘Stealth Pack’ of CMFT 11 hybrids and that trio was organized around each pair’s extensive use of a particular shade of grey first made famous on the Air Jordan XX pack. One look at the green full grain leather Supra Society Mid and you’ll realize something different is at work here, and in Supra’s exact words, “the holiday 2011 Stealth Pack aren’t going to jam anybody’s radar, but the lustrous, premium, full grain leather uppers look like they should.” So even if you don’t have a real tangible theme to fall back on, so long as the quality is on point, perhaps it doesn’t really matter. Check out all three pairs after the jump and look for these at select Supra stockists today.

Weather across the country has been cooperative with those looking to extend summer a few extra weeks but with October over half over, you know the cold grey slop of winter is right arond the corner. With that in mind, we can expect a variety of sneaker designs aimed at keeping you looking and feeling warm, and what better material to convey that cozy feeling than a pure wool? The atmos x Puma Clyde‘Survival Pack’ brings together two of the German Cat’s iconic lowtops with a woolen and leather combo whose side panel striping suggests a macro plaid pattern. Both red and black pairs are slated to release on Friday, October 21st; are they appealing enough to import or pay extra from a reseller?
