“John Strickland was street basketball for the last twenty years in New York City.”
Don’t forget to Finish Your Breakfast before you go out tomorrow morning to cop these super-clean Nike Air Force 1 Lows. Created as a form of tribute to John Strickland, the NYC streetball legend who passed away at the early age of 38, the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Strick’ captures the essence of NYC urban culture using the classic white-on-white as the base for the detail-heavy pair of Forces. With the NYC Swoosh logo stamped on the insole of the shoe, the AF1 Low ‘Strick’ is already off to a great start; add in the custom tongue labels and the molded leather imprints on the heel, and you’ve got a pair of kicks that can be celebrated by fans of Strick and followers of the sneaker game. These will hit select NSW retailers like Moe’s as well as 21 Mercer, Niketown NY, and House of Hoops on 34th and Harlem locations tomorrow, so take a look at these new detailed shots and don’t miss out on one of the best Air Force 1 releases of the year.

The unique removable bootie design of its successor has sneakerheads talking about the next upcoming model in Kobe Bryant’s Nike Basketball signature series, but don’t forget about the Nike Zoom Kobe VIjust yet. The ZK6 still has a sizeable run of dope colorways on tap including the truest Lakers editions we’ve seen since it launched last December, and one of those happens to be the above pictured model that’s been dubbed ‘Lakers Gradient’. The reasons are obvious, so the only catch with this one might be that it’ll remind LA roundball fans that the ZK5 versions commemorated a championship victory. They don’t represent a sixth ring but these new Zoom Kobe 6s are undoubtedly a win, so click through to see more of them and stay with Sneaker News for the US release date. via Kicks-crew

Not only is it the first release from Nike Basketball to combine a Hyperfuse upper with full-length LunarLon cushioning, but the Nike Lunar Hypergamer is also bringing some novel approaches to colorway design to the table. Now, to be completely objective, the Lunar Hypergamer isn’t the first basketball shoe to apply a camouflage print to its uppers, but applying this extra texture to NBA team colors is something we haven’t seen from even the Zoom Kobe VI. This latest model is the most subtle yet, its tonal black ‘camo’ an unassuming link to San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker. See more of TP’s latest PEs in more images after the jump and then pick up a pair directly from NikeStore.

Nike Sportswear has teamed up with the LeBron line to add a few lifestyle options to the King James repertoire, a move that makes sense given that the man doesn’t have a great need for basketball kicks at the moment thanks to the status of the NBA. We already showed you the Nike Air Force 1 Low from the drop and we’re back now with a Nike ACG Air Max Conquer with the familiar LeBron treatment. This blacked out boot gets just the lion logo embroidery on the tongue, staying in line with the minimal branding presented in the project. The Nike Sportswear LeBron James collection just popped up at Nike Harajuku, so a stateside release should be on its way. Get the full pics after the jump and let us know if you’ll be copping a pair in the comments.

By bringing back older models and introducing new ones, Nike iD is making a strong push for increased awareness of its capabilities. If you haven’t ordered a Nike iD yet, what are you waiting for? The Nike Zoom Brave V, a sneaker more commonly seen overseas than in the U.S., is the latest introduction to the revised Nike iD menu; the performance-friendly basketball sneaker line, worn by Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, features Zoom Air cushioning and Flywire cables for stability, but enough about the tech – let’s look into color options! For the Zoom Brave V, Nike iD will make available a unique Safari Finish, giving the upper a hint of that rugged detail that Tinker Hatfield introduced with the Air Safari. Check out a quick preview of the available colors below and expect the Brave V to hit Nike iD this November 8th.

You could argue that there’s a bit of Jackson Pollock in the various splatter prints we see in the sneaker scene today, or that Piet Mondrian’s De Stijl style informed the high-contrast colorways that were so popular in the mid ’00s (not to mention that SB Dunk in his name), but the only deceased artist to maintain an ongoing ‘collaboration’ with a major sneaker brand remains ‘The Radiant Child’. For the latest drops in their Affili’art collection, Reebok releases two new Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired basketball shoes, a couple of models whose debut dates sandwich the young Neo-expressionist’s untimely demise. The Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite applies his crown insignia in black to the white upper for a crisp contrast, especially when paired with the black patent leather heel, while a grey and teal BB6400 offers another take on the 1984 ‘Trumpet’ piece that’d been applied to the Court Victory Pump roughly one year ago. Detailed images of both are waiting for you to click below, and then you can pick them up from select RBK retailers like Miami’s Mr. R Sports.

Admit it: One of your guilty pleasures is to sift through pages and pages of blogs that compile some of the funniest pieces of text or imagery on the internet. One of the more popular time-wasters on the ‘net is ’Awkward Family Photos’, which features endless pages of some of the weirdest blood-related groups of people in the world. Family portraits in general are a bit awkward, but if you’ve got a respectable head of the household in the Nike Mag 2011 and two dope offspring in the Hypermax and Hyperdunk, there’s no way a portrait can look awkward, unless you decide to hold the Mags yourself while wearing a t-shirt showing Billy Crystal, as Mickey Gordon of the movie ‘Forget Paris’, shouting (what appears to be) profanities. Ah, so close. Still a cool picture nonetheless, so check out the Nike McFly Family Portraits and let us know what you think. via gallery2.

Nike Sportswear’s VacTech collection for the holiday season has seen a variety of applications spread across some of NSW’s best loved staple silhouettes, and while there’s been some overlap between silhouettes, this is the only pack that unites multiple pairs as a single unified drop. The NSW VT Haystack QSes are a trio of wheat-suede vacuum-constructed classics whose corded laces have them feeling more like the classic 6″ Timberland work boot than pretty much every earlier pair that’d carried the name. The Nike Dunk High, Air Force 1 High and Air Max 90 each perform admirably with this faux-rugged aesthetic, and though you can take your time in deliberating which pair(s) to get with the images we have waiting for you after the jump, you should act quickly because these Haystack Quickstrikes are sure to leave the shelves of stores like Extra Butter soon after they’re stocked on November 12th.

Here’s a twist on the classic ‘tree in the forest’ thought exercise for you: if there are no Lakers playing at Staples Center, are they still in 3-D? This new pair of Nike Zoom Kobe VIs might not show up on your TV screen any time soon, but they can, quite literally, pop out at you from the streets thanks to a clever application of stereoscopic colors on the ZK6′s signature snake-scaled upper. They’re more in step with Kobe’s NBA affiliation than the previous 3D Zoom Kobe VIs but each has its place in representing basketball in La-La Land, so serious collectors will simply need to have both. Have a closer look at these Zoom Kobe 6s in a Lakers 3-D motif and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. viaKicks-crew
