One of the more compelling aspects of Michael Jordan’s legendary career is the idea that we too, through hard work, perserverence and sheer force of will, overcome nearly any obsticles on the road to greatness. It’s that kind of inspiration that makes the Air Jordan Legacy a great fit for the annual Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle, which for its eighth go-round chose the Air Jordan IV silhouette as the canvas for one of the special youngsters at the Portland-area childrens hospital for whom the collaboration is named. Isaiah Scott turned the Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’ into one of the most audacious colorways this four-decade-spanning silo has ever seen, a black-based superhero color scheme that like last year’s Air Jordan III DBs, utilizes a whimsical laser-etched pattern to give it that final push.
