Coming from the series that paved the way for a litany of copycat lowcut designs, it’s not shocking to see the Nike Zoom Kobe VII continue to set the bar with innovative new designs. For the Zoom Kobe VII, the defining feature is indubitably the shoe’s tongue-less design that has you fastened directly to the footbed via the removable ‘Play Fast’ setup. We’d exect this black, grey and white colorway as an ‘away’ look, but then again, perhaps Nike Basketball kept the purple to the insoles on this pair so they’d be more versatile given that, unlike most other years, Kobe himself probably won’t be guaranteed a chance to rock them at Staples Center. The lockout can’t prevent you from utilizing the Black Mamba’s superior lockdown system, though, and you can count on these Zoom Kobe 7s whether the lockout ends today or next year. Have a closer look at them after the jump and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike Zoom Kobe VII release dates. via MarqueeSole
