There aren’t too terribly many sneakerheads who’ve become so established in the community that they’re known by a nickname. Mayor comes to mind as one of the great Air Force 1 historians, so when another dedicated collector gets a nod from the list publishers over at Complex, you know dude’s behind a sneaker closet few can rival. Fran ‘Franalations’ Marchello‘s Top 25 Sneakers of All Time reads like a ’90s baby list, nearly all the entries having released in the past decade with the few notable exceptions Air Jordan Retros plus the Nike Air Mag he showed off not too long ago. Not really hating on the guy, I just suppose his child-like appearance generates a lot of hate. He has a hot Asian lady friend though. And Complex are really plucking at straws yes, and they need to stop saying "of all time"

Franalations? Can anyone say grasping at straws? Guess they didn't want to restart the the "all time" cycle of DJCK, MAYOR and any other irrelevant member of the ATF oompah loopas. This comment is so damn relevant to the sneaker game these days, PERIOD! It's changed so much with the way overhyped shoes, top 25 this, top 25 that, the stupid nicknames for everything, little kids buying any little shoe that comes out on Ebay just to say they copped it, the dickass resellers on Ebay, CL, and shoe forums, etc ... . Where is the hustle? Where is the true love? Where are the normal kicks that get the heavy rotation wears? I promise you, if this kid didn't have internet hookups in one form or another, he'd get mauled in the street. I got zero respect for that shit. Truth.
Dude i agree with you man. Not taking anything away from Fran. But i feel the shoe game has really really become SOOOOOOOOO over hyped it aint even funny. It aint even about the shoes anymore IMO. Your right about there not being any normal kicks that are in heavy rotation. People are more into the love of the hype of the shoe then the shoe itself. I think when someone has TONS of shoes they prob dont mean as much as a person who only owns 5 and loves all 5 and wears them out like no ones business!
It's not even about Mr. Franalations -- look week to week at these "All time" lists that are on one blog or another. It's gotten to the point where they need to fill air time and space because nothing else is going on; that's the reality of it all. What it does is create these internet celebrities and then it all just feeds on itself and the cycle keeps repeating.
Yo you ever notice how on these top 25s it's all hype shoes. If you don't have a plain black pair of classic chuck taylors in the top 25 sneakers of all time kicks. You're not a sneaker head period . This is a shoe that damn near everyone at some point in their life has had on their feet, but no one ever has it in the top 10 and thats lame. I'm a SB nike dude at the present but nothing tops the all star chuck.

You can say that about a lot of people....but i guess doing what he loves and using a media to expose his love got him there. and everybody has there own favorites for certain reason and its good to see when people have diversity because you never know his motive behind his top 25.
