College basketball fans were in for an amazing treat when #1 ranked UNC faced off against Michigan State atop an aircraft carrier in Coronado, California. Dubbed the Carrier Classic, this sporting event was a special way to honor the members of the Armed Forces on Veterans Day; the significance of the game seemed paltry to the true purpose of November 11th, as thousands of military veterans as well as President Barack Obama were in attendance, celebrating the remembrance of our nation’s most courageous individuals in a unique way.
Both UNC and Michigan State took the outdoor court wearing the Carrier Classic collection uniforms and sneakers, but also spotted were a number of notable sneakers that were clearly from the players’ own collections; The Air Jordan XI ‘Cool Grey’, Air Jordan V ‘Wolf Grey, Air Jordan XIII White/University Blue, Air Jordan 2011 UNC PE, and the Nike Zoom Kobe VI were spotted alongside the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 and Air Jordan 8.0. Check out a full recap of the game and the awe-inspiring outdoor basketball court below and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more NCAA Feet features as the college basketball season rolls on! via Yahoo!.
I know its not the most important thing but did anyone else notice the Jordan socks with the elite stripe? too dope.
I extend my utmost gratitude to the veterans as well as their families in respect to their duties as well as this event. I sincerely thank you all for your actions. God bless. Also, Obama's kicks are fresh. I believe we can all learn a thing or two from him when it comes to dressing appropriately
this is probably the coolest basketball game i have ever seen...those jordan elites are crazy, and i feel bad for that guy who was playing in the wolf greys because he has such a disadvantage over the hyperdunks and other performance shoes
I'm glad NCAA feet is back.. Henson 13's (which i still need to add to my collection) and Marshall's 2011's were the best ones out there and i noticed them both right off the bat.. Sticklands wolf greys are nice but im surprised his whole shoe didnt fall apart on that cut..
First things first: Those 13's are fire. Also: didn't Mike already talk to these UNC kids about rocking Kobes? #40 is taking his scholarship in his own hands.
San Diego was the perfect backdrop, some of these pics are amazing (the sky on pg. 1, pic 3) been there twice, such a great place
Harrison barnes started the game in the cool greys then after the first stop in time he put the kobes on and wore the the rest of the game
