Shawn Kemp’s Greatest Sneaker Moments
November 28th, 2011 by John K. | 24 comments

Shawn Kemp’s 1990′s reign as the premier above-the-rim forward in the league is one of the most remembered NBA tenures in the game’s history. He threw down with complete disregard for human life (just ask the Golden State Warriors), made hanging on the rim an artform, and even helped the Seattle Sonics reach the NBA Finals in 1996, beating the 72-10 Chicago Bulls twice during that series. His departure from Seattle marked the end of the Reign Man, who brought with him quite a few extra pounds and thusly a decreased vertical leap, and faded away as the butt of numerous jokes – only to return in tip-top shape in his comeback attempts in the mid-late 2000′s. During Kemp’s reign of terror, he sported one of most memorable line of signature basketball shoes with Reebok while wearing Nike before and after that time, so check out a quick helping of some of his best sneaker moments below and head to Complex for the full feature.

the shoe on the 1st pix was the reebok optix
i got thisyoung chick shes so immature shes like why you dont buy me Reeboks no more
Yes he and gp were the back bone off Seattle in the 90's .this was basketball at it's best much respect to my Seattle reps the sonics one day will return and I will be in the stands and in the rain !!
I totally forgot that he actually had three signature sneakers. Anybody remember the name of the third shoe? (the pair he is wearing in the first pic)
@orka those were the aftershocks and he had more than 3 pair... I had them all, he was my fav. There are at least 6 since the Kamikaze 1s
To all 206 sonics fans we owe this man alot. He made it fun to watch sonics basketball and dont forget about GP. kemp and payton, one of the best duo of all time and they both also had dope ass signature sneaker at the time! Nice dude ..check it out sometime
The great thing about being old was being able to see Kemp playing when he was was the beasts back in the day. Saw him, X-Man and the Glove when they were in SA at the mall, cool as hell. And he definitely be mashing on some fools nowadays, what a waste of talent, but a MF'er all the same.
I feel really sad looking at all these pictures. He had so, so much potential...
This cat would eat any PF in the league today alive period
except maybe dirk, tim duncan, kevin garnett, or zach randolph. Ok take back Z-Bo, Shawn Kemp would chew dude
i smoke rocks
I second that...Greatest sneaker moments???????? But THE REIGN MAN was a fuq'n beast. Just imagine if there wasnt a lockout back then, it basically ended his career. What a shame.......
I CANT TELL WHAT SHOES HE HAS IN DA FIRST PIC
@imissda90s aftershocks
He was my dude back in the day too bad he went the DmX route and let the drugs get him. He coulda been a lot greater than he was. NBA jam 1995 HEEEESSSS on FIRRRREEE!!
Classic pic on the front with the Space needle in the back. I miss the sonics...driving to Portland to see an NBA game is not the same as just heading down to Seattle Center and checking out the Key Arena. GO STORM... I guess?
Greatest sneaker moments?! They're just pics of him playing in sneakers, as most basketball players tend to do.
206 stand up man this guy was greatness . To bad no chip.
YESSIR! Rep that 20sickness man. Reign Man was that DUDE back in the 90's. Seattle sports was live at that time. Word to Steve Largent! lol..
only reason the pic with jordan made this is because of jordan and his concords
Or because hes wearing the dope ass Kamikazes
