Midnight Fog wool plus a leather toe on a VacTech constructed version of one of Nike Sportswear’s best loved basketball classics? Regular Sneaker News readers might hear that description and feel like we’ve already showcased such a shoe, and there was indeed an Air Force 1 High released not too long ago in the same motif. This is one of the few times when the AF1 vs BTTYS battle will see direct competition, as the exact distribution of colors and materials has been replicated on this newest Nike Dunk High VT Premium. We’re seeing more and more woolen VT releases from NSW; how do these leather-toed editions stack up against other variations like the sole-speckled Air Max 90s and that same model with multi-colored tweeds? Click through for a closer look at these VacTech Dunk Highs and look for them at NSW sockists like Caliroots.

Many of you are look forward to the Air Jordan X Retro releases that will begin this January, but for others, the Jordan CMFT Air Max 10 from earlier 2011 was good enough. It appears that the Jumpman Brand saved one of its best colorways for an opportune time, because this upcoming Black/White-Varsity Red version is definitely one of the best we’ve seen (and if transferred onto an Air Jordan X, all hell will break loose!). It features a black nubuck upper with a textured synthetic leather mudguard, but there’s no doubt that your eyes are glued to the black/red checkerboard inner lining – something that makes the Air Jordan X stand out so well. Expect these during the first month of the new year, so get familiar with these by taking a look after the jump.

Can we get much higher? That question may be running through your mind as collaborators rush to grab bigger and bigger numbers on their New Balance concoctions. Concepts set the bar high early in the year with their Kennedy 999′s, but Crooked Tongues recently upped the ante with a 1500. Nice Kicks is following suit, getting together on a New Balance 1500 that should show up on December 16h. The sneaker mixes up red, grey, and white in tune with the theme of their website, although we’re sure none of our loyal readers would be familiar with that color scheme. (haha) Check out the full photos after the jump of this upcoming collabo between Nice Kicks and New Balance.

Not long ago, we showed you some great Air Jordan III Black/Cement-inspired t-shirts to match this Black Friday’s big release. If you’re looking for more variety, here are two great selections from a name that’s well known for killer sneaker-inspired t-shirts – Vandal-A. The white t-shirt features Michael at the 1988 NBA All-Star Game, which Michael transformed into a one-man show in the Black/Cement III’s. He dropped 40 points en route to his first ever NBA All-Star Game MVP award – the first of three MVP awards he would win that season. The black t-shirt featured a red print of Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch for the Jumpman logo, which is significant because the AJ3 was Tinker’s first Air Jordan design and the first to feature the logo. Head on over to Vandal-A to cop yours and let us know which of the two you like better.

Nike All Conditions Gear is known for its especially exuberant brand of outdoor and offroad gear, but even during the division’s eras of peak production, Nike Running has often blazed their own paths. Not every trail-ready runner with a Swoosh has to feature the ACG triangle logo on it as well, and the latest instance just might be one of the best rugged releases from the running division yet. The Nike Air Trail Ridge 2 Shield applies the same weather-beating technology that came on the the six-pack of grey, white and orange runners released in October and followed up last week with the new Free TR 2. These do the ‘Vintage Box’ look proud with a Max Air-cushioned sole that’s as beefy as any we’ve seen with visible bubbles; how do they match up against the more street-oriented Shield runners, or Nike ACG standouts like the Lunar MacLeay, for that matter? Let us know with a comment when you click through to see more images and look for these at select retailers including Kicks-crew.

The new Auto Clave outsole on the Air Jordan 1 gives the shoe an emphasized street-wear appeal, but don’t give the AC unit all the credit; this new Hazelnut/Team Red colorway of the Air Jordan Retro V.1 gives it a versatile appeal, allowing it to be fit for a casual night out or maybe even a hike in the woods! The rugged, nature-y combination of colors, the workboot laces, and the suede upper are all important keys to a nice outdoors shoe, so what can’t the Retro V.1 be part of the group? These are set for a release this January 2012, so take a look below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more Jordan Brand January 2012 releases.

We just saw another vulc-soled classic b-ball shoe join the VacTech party when the Blazer Mid VT popped up out of nowhere, but the revelation of the above pictured model might be considered even more of a surprise. The Nike Dunk High AC VT seems somewhat shocking because we’ve already seen the OG Dunk High and its Skinny cut for women done in the vacuum-sealed style, and the curiosity only builds when you realize that this model differs from the entire rest of the VacTech collection with its use of the Dunk’s traditional upper eyelet wing instead of fusing this into the rest of the one-piece aesthetic. The same tonal and textural contrast remains on this element as on the Max Orange edition, though it goes a step further with this pair adding another vibrant shade of blue on the tongue and laces where the oranges were black. Do you prefer the high-contrast look or everything in a closely-related range? Check out the Obsidian edition in more detail after the jump and look for these at select Nike Sportswear retailers like TGWO. via Dunkbar

In the late 90′s, Jordan Brand created a line of footwear that was to be built alongside the Air Jordan signature series. Those models, which we now refer to as ‘Team Jordans’, have carved their own path to what Jordan Brand is producing today – performance-based models utilizing some of the latest technologies engineered by Nike. The Jordan Flight-The-Power, which will debut this January, is clearly a tech-inspired shoe, using thin mesh windows that reveal a funky pattern of cables that mimic the performance enhancement of Flywire while providing some visual appeal. The multi-layered construction gives the Flight-The-Power that skeletal, bare-boned theme, and the midsole, with Max-Air cushioning on the heel, appears to borrow a few strokes from the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011. Three colorways are set for a release at a $115 price-tag, so check out all of them below and let us know what you think.

Is it baseball season already? This Yankees-inspired release of the Air Jordan 1 Phat, destined for a January 2012 release, is a nice reminder of fresh cut grass and tossing the ball around in the open field. And with the NBA lockout being as persistent as ever, we can’t wait for another professional sport to infiltrate our minds. C’mon, we need sports to stress about! But look beyond the colorway, and you’ll see that this Air Jordan 1 Phat has some nice materials, like a smooth leather upper (with a sick molded Jordan Wings logo on the ankle), a perforated base layer, and elephant print on the swoosh. These are a must-have for the overlapping group of Yankee and Jordan fans, so checkout the angles below and let us know what you think.
