Kevin Durant is undoubtedly the most versatile player in the NBA. His ability to play multiple positions on the court is mirrored by the all-new Adaptive Fit system, which permits the Zoom-cushioned Nike Zoom KD IV to be a sneaker for players of all positions. Kevin Durant’s game is that of natural leadership and carrying the bulk of the load (two straight scoring titles and delving further into the NBA Playoffs every sesason is proof of that), but we’d like to remind you that Durant’s got a playful side about him – he’s just 22 years old! He’s active on Twitter, meaning he’s accessible to the masses, and he’s got no issues with donning gaudy chains and tribal gear as one of the original Nike ‘Hyperizers’ – even his Zoom KD III was partly designed after his love of video games.
And so, with the Nike Zoom KD IV scheduled for a wide release this December 3rd, Nike has teamed up with Hasbro to create a special pair of the Nike Zoom KD IV inspired by one of the generation-defining toys in this era – Nerf. The spongy toys that ran rampantly throughout the 1990′s returns alongside the Zoom KD IV, colored up in a high-energy assortment of neon tones and confetti-like detailing and packaged with a spongy Nerf mini-basketball with the box folding into a functional backboard and hoop. On the tongue you’ll see the classic Nerf logo as well as KD35 in the similar typefont for even more of a playful vibe. We’ve got a detailed look at the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Nerf’ below, so check ‘em out and stick with Sneaker News for more updates and release info for undoubtedly the most exciting Nike Zoom KD release yet.

When news of the NBA Lockout began to surface, some NBA players wasted no time in accepting contract offers from professional teams in the Chinese Basketball Association. It gave these out-of-work players a chance to shine brightly on a stage that is perhaps equally as energetic as the one in the United States, and given that the NBA still hasn’t scheduled a tip-off, the move to the other side of the hemisphere, in retrospect, was a shrewd move. Players like J.R. Smith, Wilson Chandler, and Yi Jianlian (who felt right at home) have been sporting some sick sneakers during the games, like the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’ (courtesy of Chandler), the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ (Smith’s doing), and the Air Jordan XIII ‘Bulls’, rocked by former NBA-er Gerald Green. Check out a quick overview of the sneakers spotted around the Chinese Basketball Association and let us know who rocked the best heat!

Which Nike LeBron 9 colorway is more Jay-Z – the ‘Watch The Throne’ Tour PE, or the Blackouts? HOV’s all-black-everything tagline has maintained relevance in his fashion repertoire for a quite a while, as he’s opted for all-black Timberland boots for most of the Watch The Throne Tour performances. LeBron recently tweeted a picture of himself wearing the WTT PEs, but the Blackouts would’ve been just fine as well – we’re certain Jay-Z would’ve approved too. The Nike LeBron 9 ‘Blackout’ will officially hit stores tomorrow, before the Thanksgiving holiday, so check out the new images below and pick up a pair now for under retail from luxurylook4less on eBay.

After a quick break from the bright looks with the metallic dark grey release, the Nike Air Griffey Max II is back in familiar form with some nice hits of tour yellow as the color of choice this time around. Purists might snub the sneakers without a tie to a specific team Griffey played for, but that just means more for the rest of us. This top-notch retro release has been one of the most well received this year, with fans excited to finally pick up the missing pieces from their Griffey collections. Follow us after the jump for a full look at let us know if this black and yellow pair will find its way into your rotation. You can find them available now at select Nike retailers like CitySole or get your pair now on eBay.

Miami’s professional basketball team hasn’t been united since early in the 2011 NBA Finals, so Supra’s looking to fill in the gap with a little Heat of their own this winter. Supra’s Hot Pack adds the kind of black and yellow trim to a trio of red uppers you might expect from a Nike LeBron PE, but all three of these are skate silhouettes with major casual appeal. The Supra Vaider Mid, Cuttler and Vaider Low are each cast in an aggressive shade of canvas and has us wondering how long the crown brand can wait before we see something similar, but with green hits for Christmas. Check out the Hot Pack’s ‘Big Three’ after the jump and then look for them at Supra dealers worldwide.

When a new colorway of an Air Max 95 rolls around, it always garners a ton of attention. We all know what the shoe looks like, and it’s been around for over a quarter-century, but that’s just the nature of ‘the icon’ – it demands attention. Air Max 95s definitely fall in the category of ‘sneaker icon’, so even when a rather simple color combination surfaces, like this new Black/Crystal Blue, we find ourselves intrigued, as if we don’t know what to expect – like turning to the next page of a thrilling suspense novel. These are definitely worth the attention (it’s got that Air Penny effect), and JDSports has them available now (exclusive to them), so take a look below and let us know what you think.

We’ve seen plenty of Paul Rodriguez’ Nike SB signatures done in the legendary black, white and mint combination known as ‘Tiffany’, so why would it be any different with his latest? The P-Rod series makes its move to LunarLon cushioning with the Nike SB P-Rod 5 LR, this pair in black suede with white Swooshes and soles adding just a hint of soft blue on the branding and outsole so the overall effect is a bit more subtle than on models like the original Diamond Supply Co. Dunk Low Pro SB. Click through so you can see more angles including the minty outsole and stick with Sneaker News for this 2012 Nike SB release. via N-SB

A quick look back over the silhouette’s quarter-century of game-changing makes it seem more obvious, but it’s still impressive to consider the wide range of possibilities afforded by a VacTech constructed version of the Nike Dunk High. We’ve seen the Dunk High VT skinny and ‘standard’ in both suede and wool, in traditional cupsoles and a surprise AC edition that offered a different take on the vacuum-sealed look, in traditional smooth leathers and now this metallic pair whose detailed shading gives the illusion that they could be a special edition Monopoly piece for the 21st century. Luckily, they’re one heckuvalot more comfortable, and available right now at Nike Sportswear stockists including SNS.
