“9.8 ounces is nothing. 9.8 ounces is everything.”
When you’ve got the lightest basketball shoe in the world, it’s okay to brag. adidas Basketball has designed the adidas adiZero Crazy Light so that it’s so slight you can barely feel them yet their distinctive Three Striped ankle collar ensures you can recognize them from afar. It’s these kinds of edges you’ll see emphasized in the new ‘The Difference’ video from Foot Locker and adidas, a clip starring Dwight Howard and young ballers Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday plus the Rick James via MC Hammer-sampling music of Big Sean. Click through to watch the short and let us know if your team rocks the Crazy Light. Look out for the ‘Blackout’ edition of the adiZero Crazy Light hitting Foot Locker retailers this Friday.

Who-da thunk Foamposite would become a genre on its own? Introduced in the mid-90′s by Nike APE as a lightweight and less labor-intensive material, the Nike Air Foamposite today has become one of the most collectible sneaker items around, and 2012 will only fuel that fire with a plethora of upcoming releases like the ‘Metallic Red’ and ‘Electrolime’ Foamposite One, shown here. The Electrolimes were first dubbed the ‘Golden State’, a name that seems rather fitting based on this nice view of the Yellow/Navy One-Cent logo on the heel (Michigan would’ve been a nice fit as well). Spring 2012 is the target season for the release of these bad boys, but if you can’t wait around and want to break necks before the New Year, cop this size 9 pair from lilshk54321 on eBay.

Before we knew that their Nike SB ’94 was coming back in two new colorways for the holiday season, it looked like the collaboration between Supreme and Swoosh skateboarding for 2011 would have come on the lines of Eric Koston’s first SB sig. The Nike SB Eric Koston 1 was depicted around the turn of the year with the red box logo superimposed atop a blurred out colorway, but that model turned out to be the Sport Red and Tourmaline GR that released without a bit of the hype typically associated with New York’s skate kings. Here’s another new Koston 1 in red that won’t see Supreme attached once it hits retail, though this one certainly bears a resemblance to ‘Preme’s logo with its crisp colorblocking. Rajon Rondo hosted a special charity basketball exhibition game at Harvard University this past Saturday, bringing together a number of Boston Celtics players that were members of the 2008 Championship team. Rondo was joined by teammates Paul Pierce, Marquis Daniels, and Jeff Green as well as former Celtics Nate Robinson, Kendrick Perkins, and Leon Powe. During the Charity Game, a few notable sneakers were spotted on court, like Nate Robinson’s Black/Cement III, Rajon Rondo’s Hyperfuse 2011, Powe’s Jordan 6-17-23, and one of the more infrequent Feet sightings – the Air Jordan VII ‘Flint’ (a 2006 release). Check out the extra shots below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more NBA Lockout Feet action! via thecrimson.

We already know that British sneaker shop Size? is a big fan of the Nike Blazer’s classic lines, evidenced by their use of three different pairs for part of the store’s 10th anniversary celebration last year. Those three pairs were actually Mids but they reached into the past to get the old school fat bellied Swoosh common to the Blazer High and its VNTG releases, and now they’ve come back with another twist on this OG baller turned street staple. With these new Vintage Blazer Premium releases, we get the first leather pairs since 2009 and only the second set done in anything but suede since the series was launched in February of that year. Check them out up close after the jump then head over to Size? to grab a pair before they’re gone.

Sneaker News showed you an upcoming Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski colorway for 2012 cast in the classic ‘Takeshi’ combo of black and gold, but if you need your skate -slash- boat shoe fix before this year’s up, maybe you’d consider a slight variation? This new Stefan Janoski SB pictured above goes for a mix of navy blue suede and golden brown accents, this pair’s Swoosh-into-ankle collar blocking offering a new pattern we wouldn’t mind seeing replicated across a variety of color combinations. Check them out in greater detail after the jump, then grab yours from a Nike SB retailer like Premier.

When it comes to Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski samples, most of what we’ve seen over the past couple years has eventually made its way to market. Notable items previewed in this way include this year’s ‘Brogue’ Mids and the ‘Wino’ Quickstrike, but an even more radical departure from the Janoski’s base construction was in the works and might have even turned out to be the final verison of the shoe. In a parallel universe, this sample version would have replaced the Zoom Stefan Janoski SB we’ve come to know and love, but it’s hard even with your best sci-fi/fantasy hats on, to imagine this edition outselling the hugely popular boat shoe-infused final release. But you could argue that we got a taste of this design even if it didn’t have Stefan’s name attached, their classic skate style not all too dissimilar from the P-Rod 4 we got a short while after the Janoski debuted in 2009. Do you agree Nike SB made the right call here? Click through to see the non-boat Janoski samples and stick with Sneaker News for more rare Nike SB showoffs. via N-SB

Among the standout comments in our most recent look at the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan 4 Retro was the “number one reason why we [sneakerheads are] broke . . . fresh.” And while it merely takes a quick look at some of the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke designs to realize that plenty of heads are doing quite well, the point is still valid that Jordan Brand is hitting us with scorching heat in a rapid-fire succession never before seen to this point. After a six week stretch in late ’11 that includes the ‘Black Cement’ AJIIIs, ‘Last Shot’ XIVs and ‘Concord’ XIs, we’ll start 2012 with the ‘Chicago’ Tens followed in a month by the ‘Old Royal’ colorway of that model coming just one week before we get the first ‘White Cement’ Fours inabout thirteen years. So as you can see, the next rolling quarter-plus is absolutely inundated with beloved classics; will you structure your sneaker savings to include funds for these AJIVs? via Soleland

The last time we heard from the UNDFTD x Converse team-up, it was for the all white collection from their Ballistic Pack. Depending on your post-Labor day rotation those may or may not be a no-no, so here’s a heads up on the blacked out version set to drop next week. Grabbing the Converse Academy Low and the Converse Star Player once again, UNDFTD works their magic on these unassuming models, giving them a tech-feel thanks to the ballistic upgrades. Get the full look after the jump and be on the look out for this capsule at UNDFTD locations on the apropos release date of Friday, November 25th.

It is with good reason that the period between mid-November and the end of each calendar year is commonly called the ‘holiday season’. So many of the world’s local cultures have contributed to a melange of occasions suitable for celebrating, and the one that starts off the annual spike in retail sales starts later this week in the United States. But even if coming together during the winter results in increased sales, getting the major sneaker brands to cooperate is a task on the order of creating world peace. So Foot Locker‘s ‘Black Pack’ for Black Friday not only launches the store’s Kicksmas celebration in earnest, but it also manages the ambitious coordination of releases from adidas Basketball, Jordan Brand, Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear. Dark colorways of the adidas adiZero Power Howard and adiZero Rose 2.0 join the Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Cement’, Jordan 1 Flight in the same colorway, triple-black Nike LeBron 9s, Zoom Hyperdunk and Hyperfuse 2011s, the Total Air Foamposite Max also in black/anthracite, and John Wall’s Reebok Zig Encore. Last but not least is the ‘Binary Blue’ Zoom Rookie LWP, a model presumably included because it’s the darkest colorway on a model that has no ‘blackout’ edition (yet?). It’s a mouthful and enough to drain your wallet, and even if FL’s best wishes come true, it’s unlikely anyone will seek to complete this ‘pack’; so which ones are the must-haves?
