NCAA Feet: 2KSports Classic Coaches vs. Cancer

Arizona, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and St. John’s University congregated at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden for a two-day span of games called the 2KSports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. During the four games that were played, viewers were treated with a healthy helping of on-court sneaker sightings, something we can all expect when footwear-powerhouse Arizona takes the court. Some Wildcats were spotted wearing the Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’, Air Jordan XIV ‘Bulls’, and Zoom Kobe VI in various colorways, while St. John’s players were seen wearing the Black/Red Nike LeBron 9. During the match-up between Mississippi State and Texas A&M, we saw two adidas-outfitted schools go head to head, wearing the adidas Crazy 8 and some TB colorways of the adiZero Rose 2. A nice visual recap awaits you below, so check it out and let us know which sneaker sighting is your fave. via Yahoo!.

Nike Total Air Foamposite Max Blackout Arriving at Retailers

Over the past few years, we’ve come to expect some all-black-everythings from Nike Sportswear on the day after Thanksgiving, and this year will see the tradition continue.  Following up on the 2010 drop of the black Air Force 1 Foamposite comes another Foamy favorite in a non-original form, the Nike Total Air Foamposite Max in a triple black getup.  These come in the wake of the Metallic Silver OG release that earned a more favorable reception in September than its previous retro drop a few years back; will the growing contingent of Foamposite fanatics make these a sellout even on a day when we expect an Air Jordan III Retro and the Entourage x Nike SB Dunk Low also in black-based colorways?  Let us know what you think about how this week’s shaping up and look for these on Black Friday at NSW spots like Wish, or get ahead of the game with your pair right now on eBay.

Air Jordan XI Retro Concord 45 Samples

The subject of uniform numbers on Air Jordan Retros is one that we’ll soon feel the impacts of directly.  The AJX ‘Chicago’ had been seen with both ’23′ and ’45′ on its lateral ankles before the final version proved to be blank like the OGs, and we’ve seen the above pictured model with both of MJ’s uni numbers as well.  But the big difference with the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’ is that, by the time Michael took them on in the 1995-96 season, His Airness had already switched back to his traditional number and the OGs did indeed feature ’23′ on their heels.  But we’ve seen several colorways of the Eleven also done with ’45′ to commemorate the fact Mike rocked these during the ‘lost’ playoffs vs. Orlando, and now it looks like we might have had that version in store for the holidays with all the samples depicted in these new images.  Would you prefer the OG ’23′ or does this retirement-number-one reminder strike you as more collectable?  Check them out in greater detail after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more on the Air Jordan 11 ‘Concord’ 2011.  via Air-Randy

Air Jordan 10 Old Royal New Images

Earlier this morning, Sneaker News showed you a video preview showing, among other notable early 2012 releases, the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’.  Let’s take a closer look now at this colorway that has the feel of an original thanks to similarities to memorable releases like the True and Military Blue IIIs and IVs.  But unlike those old favorites, this is a brand new drop for next year, and one of what could turn out to be a bunch of AJ10s over the course of those twelve months; how does a schedule like ‘Chicagos’ for January and ‘Old Royals’ for February sound to you?  Check them out in additional images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for all Air Jordan release dates.  via MarqueeSole

Celebrity Feet: Kendrick Lamar Air Jordan III Black/Cement

Aside from Swizz Beatz and a select few others with exclusive contracts, rappers can be seen sporting as many sneaker brands as guest MCs on their albums.  Just because you’re collaborating with Jay-Z doesn’t mean you gotta give 50 Cent the silent treatment, and switching back and forth between footwear choices is even easier.  Just ask Kendrick Lamar, the up and coming young artist we just showed you giving props to adidas Originals’ new boots, who’s seen here repping Jordan Brand and their big release for Black Friday 2011: the Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Cement’.  Lamar got his at least a week early as these images from last Friday’s soldout show at LA’s Music Box prove; will you make the necessary preparations to ensure you get a pair of Black Cements before they run out of stock?

Air Jordan IV White Black Tech Grey Red

Last Monday, Sneaker News showed you a series of images comparing the 1999 version with the upcoming Air Jordan IV Retro release.  This Monday, it’s a look at the 2012 ‘Tech Grey’ edition that applies a slightly darker shade to the Four’s grey sections.  This change along with a Jumpman taking the place of ‘NIKE AIR’ where it lay on the original, makes for a model that’s different enough for experienced collectors to differentiate right on the spot, yet one that very clearly carries the legacy of one of the best releases of MJ’s pre-championship era.  Click through and youc an see more images and let us know if you’re already setting aside some cash for the mid-February release.  via MarqueeSole

2012 Nike Air Foamposite & Jordan Releases Sneak Geekz Preview

His YouTube subscribers probably noticed that it’s been over two months since notable sneaker unboxer SneakGeekz has popped up with a new video, but if there was ever a way to come back with a bang, boy was it this.  SG came through with a look into the future by way of a number of early 2012′s most significant releases already in hand.  He inspects the packaging and then pops out the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’ and ‘Bordeaux’ Jordan Spiz’ike before moving into Nike Sportswear and its ‘Metallic Red’ and ‘Electrolime’ Air Foamposite Ones.  Perhaps the most intriguing part of the whole thing is how good the mostly tonal-grey Spizikes look under the everyday lighting conditions at SneakGeekz’ house; is their appearance strong enough to put aside the debate surrounding their nickname?  Have a look for yourself at the video after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all the upcoming Foamposite and Air Jordan release dates.

Nike Air Max 90 iD Space Jam Homage

“An homage…15 years later.”

Michael Jordan did great things for Nike Basketball and Jordan Brand, but his influence reached beyond the sport and touched on the lifestyle aspect of Nike footwear. Nike iD recently put together this sick Nike Air Max 90 iD, featuring a tonal black upper with patent leather mudguards, rip-stop nylon uppers (the XI featured ballistic nylon), and sport mesh on the toe and ankle collar, all paired with a white midsole and translucent outsole. Both a worthy tribute to MJ and a great way to show off the current options on the Nike Air Max 90 iD, this Space Jam should have you running over to Nike iD right now! More angles below, so take a look and let us know what Nike Air Max 90 iD concepts you have in mind.

Nike Zoom Kobe 7 Black Grey Detailed Images

Just this afternoon, NBA players rejected the owners supposedly final deal, a breaking development that suggests the 2011-12 season is now in serious jeopardy. Not only might we miss out on the follow-up to the best regular season in decades because of something called ‘BRI’, but we’ll also not get a chance to see Nike Basketball’s signature athletes wearing their new releases. For example, this Nike Zoom Kobe VII might have to just settle for being a versatile ‘away’ look, its black and grey silo in danger of never hitting the Staples Center hardwood. The season’s not lost, however, and you can add a bit of extra certainty by grabbing this release we expect for next February, already now at SoleAwesome.

Nike LunarEclipse+ 2

The Nike LunarEclipse+ ‘eclipsed’ prices of all Nike Lunar Running shoes by a whopping $35 (the highest-priced Lunar running shoe was $100), and still stands as the highest-priced Nike Lunar running shoe (if you’re not counting the Shield edition of the model, which is $140). Supreme comfort, sick styling – many fans of Nike running shoes deemed it money well spent, so how will its sequel be received? Here’s a look at the Nike LunarEclipse+ 2, previewed at the nike Running House Warming event in late October; it features the same LunarLon cushinoing with the seamless mesh/thin-skin upper, but now features the light-weight mid-foot lockdown harness seen in many current Nike releases, like the LunarGlide+3 and even the LeBron 9. These three colorways were part of that impressive preview, so take a look below and let us know what you think the LunarEclipse+ 2 design, and stick with Sneaker News for release updates. via p4000.
