Nike SB Dunk High Premium Tauntaun Available

Some have argued that the greatest contribution from the Star Wars x adidas Originals capsule is that the designs are so good, they make the Saga’s symbols relevant even to those who aren’t card carrying sci-fi fans.  The same can be said of this new Nike SB Dunk High, though this Tauntaun-inspired colorwayclearly goes about things less directly.  Instead of familiar faces and insignias, we get a sick combination of tonal grey suede with varying degrees of nappiness that comes together even with an even colder look than the creature’s home on Hoth.  Designer Shawn Baravetto hit the target dead on with this one, though they appeared markedly bluer in the initial preview images which also featured a twill material for the Swoosh and overlay.  Would you have preferred the sample style or will you be hitting up your local Nike SB retailer to get in on the neutral goodness? US and Euro skate shops are seillng their Quickstrike shipments as you read this, but perhaps an in-store only policy like the one at the UK’s Scene makes it more enticing to buy them now on eBay.

Air Jordan V Mickael Pietrus Warriors PE

What would compel a basketball geek to compare Goran Dragic and Mickael Pietrus, other than in discussion of their brief tenure together as Phoenix Suns?  Aside from the sheer nerdy joy of namechecking two of the NBA’s lesser known European stars, one might see Dragic’s 2010 playoff performance to Pietrus’ campaign the year prior in that both guards stepped up to contribute significantly to their team’s upset victory, only to be stopped short of glory by Kobe Bryant’s back-to-back championships.  But one thing Pietrus has that Dragic can’t claim, aside from a PHX zipcode, is a history with Jordan Brand; one that, though short, resulted in a couple memorable player exclusive Jays.

During the 2007 postseason where Pietrus’ Golden State Warriors had everybody believing Dirk Nowitzki might never get it done, MP rocked these Air Jordan V exclusives that look one heckuva lot like Ray Allen’s Sonics ‘Away’ edition.  Unlike Ray, though, who continues to break records and defy father time while racking up more and more PEs, Pietrus has long since departed the Jumpman in favor of Chinese brand Peak.  Could that possibly mean that the rarity of these sneakers means they’re worth more than the equivalent ‘Sugar’ Ray edition?  Perhaps the signature on this game-worn edition puts things in a new perspective, but does it mean you’d bid on these if they popped up on eBay?  Unfortunately for those who answered ‘yes’, these are a look-but-don’t-touch, so click through and let us know what you think about some of these more obscure Air Jordan PEs.  via Phase2

Nike Training Shield Collection

The Nike Running Shield Collection spanned six silhouettes when it released back last month, plus the option for you to customize their waterproof designs on NIKEiD.  Not to be outdone, the Training divison jumped on board with their own Shield set, this collection featuring PE colorways of the Trainer 1.3 Mid designed after seven of the country’s biggest college football programs.  They’re not done with the waterproof Free-soled trainers, just the college theme, as the new Nike Training Shield Collection drops its affiliations in favor of a darker take on the same palette the runners used.  This time around, it’s only the Nike Free TR2 getting the special treatment, a shoe that’s joined by the Pro Combat Hyperwarm Shield Mock and Nike Shield K.O. Hoodie for a pack that’ll keep your training more comfortable all winter long.  Click through for detailed images and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.

adidas Originals Hardland WNTR

Many of our readers may be quick to call this new winterized version of the adidas Originals Hardland a little to close to the string of “wheat” releases from another footwear giant, but the difference is in the details. This model works in the organic tan look on the upper through a premium nubuck, which is embossed with some subtle patterning on the tongue and towards the back end of the sneaker. The rounded black and yellow boot-laces are there, driving home the workwear look on this winterized offering from adidas Originals. Get the detailed pictures after the jump of the adidas Originals Hardland WNTR and be on the lookout for them now at your local adidas stockist.

adidas Originals Campus II

Few looks in footwear are as timeless as a clean pair of suede adidas with the leather stripes on the side. Adidas is clearly aware of this, and even in the midst of off the wall Jeremy Scott releases and Muppet tie-ins they’ve made sure that the purists get theirs, with drops like this batch of the adidas Originals Campus II. These clean low tops don’t go overboard on the color, keeping it pretty low-key with some relatively muted tones that let the pops of white do all the work. Then of course there’s the black pair for those of you who want to keep it as straight forward as possible. Get a look at all four pairs of the adidas Originals Campus II that just dropped after the jump and be on the lookout for them at retail spots like Undefeated.

Supra Trill Pack

The concept of ‘trill’ finds itself somewhere at the intersection of ‘keeping it real’ and ‘being true (to yourself)’, and is more associated with hip-hop superstar sneakerhead Bun B than any other individual.  Bun is a known Jordanhead, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Jays are the only ‘trill’ kicks out there, an assertion Supra looks to test with their latest three-pack.  The new Supra Trill Pack takes its name from the waxed black twill that makes up the uppers of the Supra Society Mid, Assault and Cuttler, each of which adds red eyelets and lining to approach that classic Air Jordan vibe.  Click through to see all three and if you find them congruent with your personal brand, pick up a pair straight from Supra.

2NE1 x Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Wings 2.0 White | Available

The immense popularity of the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals collaborative collection has reached the stars – pop-stars, that is. Korean pop group 2NE1 had their hand in two different colorways of the Wings, and both couldn’t be more in contrast with one another. One version featured a wide array of colors with animal print, achieving a feral/rainbow-effect, but the other is a pure tonal white, an angelic tone only accentuated by the 2.0 Wings on the heel. Euro retailer Asphalt Gold has these in stock so take a look for additional images below and look out for these at select adidas Originals retailers soon.

Air Jordan XI Silver Anniversary Jumpman Sample Edition on eBay

Nike Air logos were used on Air Jordans III to the Air Jordan VI, and during the earlier part of the last decade, the Nike branding was supplanted by Jumpman symbols, which has caused an interesting debate in the Air Jordan community. While some weren’t too pleased with the ‘original’ state being tweaked, others were just happy to rock their favorite sneakers without fear of having them fall apart. Then came the Air Jordan XI ‘Silver Anniversary’, which featured no Jumpman at all. Instead, Jordan Brand released twenty-three pairs of a Jumpman’ed version, randomly dispersing them to retailers worldwide. However puzzling that may sound, not all twenty-three pairs have been accounted for (or those lucky few simply did not know what gems they had in their possession). Here we have another look at the rare Air Jordan XI; this version is actually a size 13 and like the previous Promo Sample we showed you, could have originally been made for Michael himself. Check out the extra shots below and if you’re interesting in bidding, hit up the auction from oregonsole on eBay.

Air Jordan XIV Pizza Box

The Air Jordan XIV was inspired by Italian sports super-car Ferrari. Is that where this pizza box idea grew from? If you’re hungry for a cool collectible, look no further than the Air Jordan XIV Pizza Box; it features a blueprint of all the Air Jordan XIV functional parts, which you can cut out and built your own cardboard model Air Jordan XIV. Open up the box and you’ll find an Air Jordan XIV ‘Blueprint’ t-shirt as well as a set of instruction on how to bake the perfect Air Jordan XIV pizza pie. This is definitely all sorts of cool, but if you plan on ordering one of these, don’t expect delivery under thirty minutes. The Pizza Box was spotted in China, but will it hit retailers in the U.S.? Check out the extra shots below and we’ll keep you updates. via hoopchina.

PHANTACi x Nike Sportswear x LeBron James Lamda Beta Jamma Fraternity

With the NBA canceled, now seems like as good a time as any for LeBron James to go back and catch up on the college experience, since he skipped that stepping stone on his way to the pros. PHANTACi out in Taiwan has come together with Nike Sportswear to make this a possibility with their unique build out of the Lamda Beta Jamma Fraternity, an unit so exclusive that we’re pretty sure it consists solely of King James himself. The redone retail space is littered with all things LeBron, from memorabilia from his past to the more recent end of his sneaker catalog like the Nike LeBron 9 and the Nike Sportswear x LeBron James collection. Follow us after the jump to check out the full gallery of photos from the Lamda Beta Jamma fraternity and hit us up in the comments if you plan on rushing LBJ.
