Air Jordan IV GS Voltage Cherry Detailed Images

Is an Air Jordan IV for girls worth a thousand dollars if you can get a pair ninety days before everyone else? That’s the latest question in the early availability scene, as the ‘Voltage Cherry’ Air Jordan 4s have managed to make their way to specialty retailers just as many of the other Retros and new colorways are apt to do these days. This pair’s pink nubuck design is eyecatching to be certain, but with a fireplace’s worth of heat on tap for the holidays season, Jordan Brand got the February release date right, especially with this pair’s ‘FTLOTG’-style heart/basketabll embroidery details. Check them out in the images awaiting your click on the jump below and if you’ve got the nine-ninety-nine-ninety-nine to pony up for the Voltage Cherry AJ4, grab one of the super limited supply from Kicks-lab.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Steven Pinkerton Round 3

The third time’s the charm, or so they say, but when your first Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke was as good as Steven Pinkerton’s Cookie Monster-inspired ‘Round 1′, it takes something special to be the winning entrant.  But we haven’t seen too many Bespokes like Pinkerton’s latest, the ‘Round 3′ defined by the textures apparent on the range of premium materials making up their uppers.  It starts at the toe with a Maharam fabric featring tonal green digi-camo and continues the earthy vibe with Loden green on the suede Swoosh and perforated lenticular side panels.  Those same large gauge perfs are replicated on the white rear quarter that gives these a lighter feel than had they employed any other color; does this unique take on the autumn hunter vibe make for Stevens best Bespokes yet?  Let us know with a comment after you look at some more photos below the jump and schedule with 21 Mercer to create your pair today.  via UGS

Nike LeBron 9 Ohio State Release Reminder

The second of the Nike LeBron 9 University Pack will hit tomorrow, as the Grey/Red/White ‘Ohio State’ colorway will hit select Nike Basketball retailers. With LeBron’s roots in Akron, OH, THE Ohio State University was a possible destination for King James had he not chosen to jump the collegiate level in favor of the pros. You might’ve caught the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Ohio State’ in action over the last few days as the Ohio State Buckeyes began their basketball season (you can catch it here in our Opening Week recap), so if you like what you see, the opportunity to obtain these is now at your doorstep. These will launch at midnight on Nikestore, but be sure to check your local Nike Basketball retailers tomorrow, or cop a pair right now on eBay.

Staple x New Balance 577 Teaser

Jeff Staple collaborations perfectly exemplify the ‘quality, not quantity’ idiom. It’s not often we see Jeff Staple team up with a major sneaker brand, but when he does, the term ‘instant classic’ can be attributed. Jeff’s clothing brand ‘Staple’ is the exact opposite of a misnomer, and his famed ‘pigeon’ motif has resulted in some highly-coveted gems like the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’ and a duet of New Balance 575s. Much to the satisfaction of sneakerheads worldwide, Staple will once again team up with New Balance – this time on the 577 model. Will it feature the Pigeon graphic once again, or will Staple divert into another direction? The salmon pink color seen here could indicate the return of the unofficial bird of NYC. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think.

Air Jordan 3 Black Flip New Photos

At the dawn of 2011, there was much talk of the making a big comeback. Looking back eleven months later, that prophecy was fulfilled to a greater extent than most of us would have guessed. Yes, we got a gang of OG colorways (don’t forget about the Black/Cements dropping next week) but a colorway that really came out of left field was the above pictured Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip’, which reprises the original flip look from 2007. These blacked out joints go heavy on the elephant print, with a clean monochrome colorway save for the hits of silver found on the branding. We know the next couple of months are going to be busy for the sneakerheads out there, but hopefully you won’t sleep on these come the December 3rd release date. Get the full look at the Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip’ after the jump and let us know how they stack up against all the other Air Jordan III’s we’ve been treated to this year. via SoleMovement

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 5 White Grey Red

There’s a seismic shift going on over at Swoosh skateboarding, where all of the signature riders are swapping out their old cushioning systems for something fresh.  Because most of us will never have the opportunity to ride a rail on the moon and see what it’s like to take a gap with 1/6th the force of gravity weighing us down, the Nike SB P-Rod 5 offers a LunarLon midsole to provide featherweight comfort with superior boardfeel compared to traditional cupsole cushions.  This white pair slated for next summer adds a grey side panel Swoosh, but it’s the red Lunar foam sole that’ll have you clicking through for more images, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via N-SB

Air Jordan IV White/Cement 1999 vs. 2012 Comparison

Whenever an original colorway of the Air Jordan re-issues, the comparisons are bound to happen. Thanks to YungDrSeuss, we have a nice side-by-side of the 1999 Retro vs. the upcoming 2012 edition. The tone of grey is obviously different (Tech Grey being a much darker shade) and of course, how do you not notice the difference in the branding on the heel? That just goes to show how long it’s actually been since the Air Jordan IV White/Cement last graced the planet, and this February 18th, 2012, the newer generation will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest OG Air Jordans of all time. Check out the full video as well as the highlights of the comparison below and let us know what you think.

Nike SB Dunk High Pro – Dark Oak – Black – Tar December 2011

Nike SB seems to be in love with the tumbled look as of late and we can’t complain, as fresh material selection is always a good way to breathe new life into a timeless silhouette like the Dunk. The last couple drops to feature the look were the ‘US Passport’ and ‘UK Passport’ Dunk Lows, but as far as we know this Nike SB Dunk High doesn’t have any international tie-ins. Instead it’s just a nice earthy colorway that opts for a pretty dark look, thanks to the black out swoosh and sole. If you’re in the market for a new pair of Dunks that don’t scream for attention this December release may be for you. Hit the jump for the full look at let us know in the comments what you think. via Maven VT/N-SB

Air Jordan 10 Chicago New Photos

Sneaker News recently posed a question to our readers: Which colorway of the ‘City Series’ do you want to see a Retro of? The resounding answer was the ‘Chicago’ colorway, and given that this January 2012 release is a near copy of the original, we expect it to be one of the biggest hits of the year. A few changes to note: the inner lining features the checkerboard print (the OG was solid red) and the Jumpman symbol on the heel is red (the OG was solid black). Regardless of these changes, the Chicago version of the Air Jordan X is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated sneakers of the first quarter of the coming year. Are these a must-have for you? Check out the new images below and let us know after the jump. via soleawesome.

Nike Air Max 90 Midnight Fog Black White

The Nike Air Max 90 has seen a variety of special releases this season ranging from the VacTech and Aztec collections to a pack all done in ripstop nylon. This latest pair gets back to basics with a colorway that looks like it was crafted from a melted down firearm. Gunmetal is the way to go with leather, nubuck, mesh and the sole all offering their own take on the smokey Midnight Fog shade of grey, select black and white accents cementing this model’s allegiance to the dark side. Peep Nike Sportswear’s latest in additional images after the jump, then grab a pair from select retailers like Shelta.

The 50 Best Sneaker Ad Campaigns

Ad campaigns play a major role in consumer sales, and for sneakerheads, that bodes especially true. There’s a story to tell behind every sneaker, and over the last few decades, we’ve seen some of these stories come to life in the form of television commercials. Charles Barkley, an anti-hero of sorts, is presented as ‘not a role model’ (eating donuts, being generally abrasive), or Terry Tate, the office linebacker hired to maintain a high level of workplace productivity. No ad campaigns have been as profound as the Air Jordan campaign, going from the comedic (Spike Lee trying to convince us that ‘it’s gotta be the shoes’) to one where Michael himself reflects on his own imprint on the future of the NBA (the legendary ‘Maybe it’s my fault’ message). In any case, Complex just listed the 50 best ad campaigns of all-time, so take a look at a sample of what you can find below and head to Complex for the entire feature.
