Nike LeBron 9 iD Taxi

Are Nike LeBron 9 iDs the new Air Force 1 Bespokes?  The experience of creating your own custom design online isn’t exactly the same as doing it in person at 21 Mercer, but it’s hard to argue that the Nine isn’t an ultra-premium release in its own right.  And now that the LeBron 9 is available on NIKEiD, we’ve started to see some impressive designs like the firey ‘Super Flame’ edition that popped up yesterday.  Just as those were a takeoff on another LeBron 9 colorway, this ‘Taxi’ iD can be seen as connected by a thematic thread to the Zoom LeBron VI in the same colorway, a string literally reflected in what looks like that pair of ZL6s’ laces swapped in.  Click through to see more details and let us know which themes or colorways you’d most like to apply to the Nike LeBron 9 on NIKEiD.  via awsome blossom on NT

Nike Zoom Kobe VII Wolf

We haven’t seen much from the Nike Zoom Kobe VII until Sneaker News showed you the jaw-dropping Treasure Blue ‘Shark’ colorway earlier today. We alluded to a ‘Pack’ of Kobe VII colorways, with each colorway represented by a particular animal that matches Kobe’s on-court ferocity and demeanor. The ‘Wolf’ could also be used to describe Kobe’s persona; he’s a relatively private guy who has stayed away from the off-season All-Star Charity game charades and has distanced himself from the clique of NBA superstars. While he’s among the league’s elite, we often forget that Kobe’s got a few years on LeBron, Wade, Melo, and CP3 (and the Championship Rings as well), and did in fact play in the Jordan Bulls era (albeit for a short time) and boasts a superstardom that transcends two generations of NBA fandom. This Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Wolf’ is currently slated for a March 15, 2012 release, so check out the detailed images below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates on this animal-inspired set of Kobe VII releases.

adidas Originals London Aluminum

Things have been pretty quiet on the City Series front from adidas Originals lately, save for the winterized pairs of the Kopenhagen we saw drop a couple of weeks back. But with the adidas Consortium being resurrected, is it possible that the City Series will come back in a major way as well? Only time will tell, but for now we have a new release for the adidas Originals London, coming in a somewhat gloomy colorway that seems to pair up well with London’s trademark weather. This 70′s sneaker has a fine looking suede up top to go along with the leather stripes, which match the brown sole on bottom. Nike Zoom Kobe VII Shark

The ‘Black Mamba‘ is a nickname that Kobe Bryant assigned himself, claiming his desire for his on-court play to be that of the Black Mamba snake, which strikes with 99% accuracy at maximum speed. For the Nike Zoom Kobe VII, which features the ‘Play Fast’ removable cushioning unit, Kobe will assume the identities of a few more speed-dependent wildlife beasts. Check out Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Shark’, featuring a Treasure Blue/White-Black colorway with a tantalizing deep-blue ocean inspired design on the upper and a shark logo on the heel; we haven’t seen much in terms of colorways from the Kobe VII, but this not only gives us a hint at a non-Lakers colorway, but also the possibilities in terms of design concepts and themes. Sharks are one of the most feared animals on the planet, with power and strength being its primary mode of attack, and the ‘Play Fast’ cushioning should enable Kobe to attach his prey and move to the top of the food chain and regain the NBA Championship. We’ve got a detailed set of images of this March 2012 release, so take a good look and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike Zoom Kobe VII updates because we’ve got a lot more coming your way.

Bedwin x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Tom

Zipper-usage in sneakers has become an indie theme lately, with shoes like the Nike Blazer Mid and the Zoom Meriweather featuring the user-friendly applique on its sneakers. Truth is, zippers have been quite popular for some time, especially on casual sneakers like the Chuck Taylor All Star. What makes this zippered pair of kicks stand out is that it features black foxing around the circumference of the midsole, which was also seen on one of Bedwin’s previous collab with the Converse Jack Purcell. Expect the ‘Tom’ to hit select Converse retailers this Saturday, so take a look below and let us know what you think. via houyhnhnm.

Nike Zoom Rookie LWP Dynamic Blue Available Early on eBay

With the huge success of both the Nike Air 1/2 Cent and the recently released Nike Zoom Rookie LWP, it’s almost a sure bet that Nike Sportswear is working on another Air Penny hybrid shoe. In case they’re not, you’d better grab as many as possible, because the Air Penny line, despite its short life, is one of the best Nike has ever produced. The Zoom Rookie LWP is definitely among one of the best Penny-attributed sneakers ever made, and this new colorway of Dynamic Blue introduces a new attitude to the Penny heritage, which we often see in Royal Blue (and rarely in another shade of blue). There hasn’t been finite release information for these just yet (although you have the White/Black colorway to look forward to this December), so check out the new images below and cop a pair in advance from el-store on eBay.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro Gucci Customs by Jason Negron

The Nike Air Foamposite has come a long way from its original roots. Created to fill the need of a lightweight material that was less labor-intensive during manufacturing, Foamposite technology was developed by John Tawney and Toren Orzeck (he named it ‘Fomposite’) of the Nike Advanced Products Engineering team. Aside from its performance appeal (Foamposite material molded to your foot and the shoe featured Zoom Air cushioning), the Air Foamposite was an instant eye-catcher; as the story goes, Penny Hardaway fell in love with the sneaker the moment he laid eyes on it, and the Air Foamposite One became his. In the year 2011, where most Nike Retro models have more or less taken a back seat to Nike’s more recent performance models, Foamposite has firmly become a fashion culture phenomenon.

Foamposites have always been cult hits in the D.C./MD/VA area, but with so many colorways that have released in One and Pro form, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone that either doesn’t own or hasn’t considered buying a pair. The Air Foamposite has become the ‘it’ shoe as of late, with the focus for upcoming releases emphasizing dazzling and tempting colorways, like Electrolime or even the proposed ‘Galaxy’ sample. One such colorway that’s become a common verbage when discussing sneakers of today is the ‘Gucci’, which is inspired by the signature green/red/green ribbon seen on many of its fine goods. This custom pair of Foamposites, done by sole-swapping mad scientist, Jason Negron, utilizes that luxurious combination, using the ‘Pine’ Foamposite Pro as the base with the translucent outsole dyed a nice shade of red. Other emblems, like the Swoosh at the forefoot and heel, as well as the FOAMPOSITE embroidering on the heel-tab, have also been dyed red for further Gucci effect. Continue reading for a detailed gallery of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Gucci’ Customs, and hit up Jason Negron on Facebook to inquire about your own personal custom Foamposites.

Nike LeBron 9 iD Super Flame

The Nike LeBron 9 iD orders are beginning to arrive to customers, as we have a look at yet another iD design, by HK-Kicks‘ own H-Leung. Dubbed the ‘Super Flame’ as a follow-up to the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Blue Flame’ aka ‘China’, this LeBron 9 iD features an orange-on-red two tone upper and a solid red outsole for a composition that mimics a fiery blaze. These look too hot to handle, especially in comparison to the Vancouver Canucks iD we showed you the other day, which adopted the nautical theme from the hockey team’s jersey. More images below, so take a good look and let us know what you think. via NikeLeBron.

Celebrity Feet: Jerry Ferrara Air Jordan V Green Bean

Quite a transformation for Jerry ‘Turtle’ Ferrara over the past few years, no? Dude has to win the Most Improved Player award in some leag – oh wait, the trophy is standing right next to him. Truth is, Turtle’s been one of the most relate-able Hollywood cats over the last few years because he’s had a real passion for sneakers for quite a while, and if there exists a pair of actual kicks made by a fictional artist for his fictional character, one that some consider to be one of the best Air Force 1s of all time, you know he’s made his mark. Funny thing is that actors/comedians who have lost a considerable amount of weight suddenly lose their lovable nature – Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Horatio Sanz, we’ll even go as far back to MadTV’s Will Sasso – but we’re all rootin’ hard for Turtle, who was just spotted rockin’ Green Bean Vs while out on the town with his lady-pal. Nike WMNS LunarMax+ 2 Black Fuschia

When two of Nike’s most prized comfort technologies get together, expect only the greatest in cushioning. The LunarMax, which featured a full-length Lunar footbed with visible Max Air embedded at the heel, was introduced last year; the sequel, as we see here in a women’s colorway of Black and Fuschia, also features the Lunar x Air Max combo with a redesigned upper that is similar to the anatomical foot design introduced in the Nike Free Run+ 2. The upper combines a multi-layered construction with a mesh forefoot and sealed toe for protection, while the Flywire underlayer stabilizes the foot while reducing weight. More images of the LunarMax+ 2 await you below, so take a peek and stick with Sneaker News for more release info. via SneakerGo.
