The Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 was softly launched during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game when rising star Blake Griffin took the court wearing the ’10.0′ PE. Now the unofficial spokesperson for this year’s Hyperdunk flagship, Blake Griffin will soon take the NBA court wearing some new colorways of the Hyperdunk 2011 – possibly the Blue/Red/White colorway that dropped not long ago, or this PE colorway of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme called ‘The Blake Show’. The concept of Blake as a late-night talk-show host stemmed from and early-May appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and now that the 2011-12 NBA Season has been given the green light, BG will certainly hear the roaring applauses on a nightly basis (just not behind a talk-show host’s desk). ‘The Blake Show’ PE of the HD2K11 Supreme features a Grey/Red colorway matching Blake’s suit and tie that he wore during the Conan taping, and also features a fun insole with ‘The Blake Show’ logo on a faux-hardwood detail. These are set to drop this Thursday at Nike Basketball retailers overseas like Nike Park, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for U.S. Release info and let us know which of the three Blake-attributed Hyperdunks you like best.

Converse’s partnership with (PRODUCT)RED, the worldwide charity that promotes awareness for the fight against AIDS in Africa, continues this Holiday 2011 season with a Chuck Taylor designed by Brooklyn-based artist José Parlá. Following last year’s successful RED x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star capsule that featured other well-known artists such as Cody Hudson and Parra, the José Parlá x Converse Chuck Taylor utilizes the artist’s signature brush strokes, which blends calligraphy, textures, collage, and colors that sums up into a complex theme inspired by his painting “Ephemeral Pitches, and Notes, Rhythm and Phonetics”. These will release on World AIDS Day, which falls on December 1st, 2011, at Converse First String retailers worldwide for $100, as well as the Stussy NYC store. More images below, so take a peek and let us know what you think.

Exemplifying Gary Payton’s bravado and lock-down defense on the court, Nike Basketball created ‘The Glove’, aka the Nike Zoom Flight ’98. Undoubtedly one of the most advanced sneakers of its time, ‘The Glove’ featured the unique ‘Monkey Paw’ stability cage and an upper shroud that was released via the off-center zipper. During a recent autograph signing, Gary Payton himself recalled the Zoom Flight ’98 as his favorite signature shoe, and even noted that Nike will re-release the shoe in October of 2012. Even last year, Payton was spotted wearing the Zoom Flight ’98 overseas, although the nature of the shoe (OG or a Retro sample) wasn’t confirmed. Excited? Check out the video after the jump for confirmation from GP himself and let us know if you’re excited at this release.

Three Xs in one spot has a variety of pointed connotations, ranging from bowling a turkey to that quirky sheep ad currently running on Hulu beckoning you to buy virtual real estate in the net’s newly established red light district. And while Amsterdam is famous for its own such area, it’s another part of town and an entirely different meaning that Dutch boutique Patta looks to get across with the spot-markers on their latest collaboration with Asics. The Patta x Asics Gel Saga II is marked with its triple-Xs in commemoration of this as the third classic runner they’ve resurrected together, and if the next couple years are anything like what’s happened in the wake of their Gel Lyte III and Gel Lytespeed teamups, we’re in for quite a treat. This pair goes with a high contrast colorway you might call Chicago-esque were it not for select bright green accents, this twist a little one when compared to the unexpected variety of materials ranging from rubberized leather to horsehair. Click through to see a few more teaser images and stick with Sneaker News for updates including the Patta x Asics Gel Saga release date. via HS

Owing to a combination of the proximity to King James born date and the NBA’s annual TV showcase, Christmas colorways from Nike Basketball’s LeBron signature series are every bit as much a tradition as ‘home’ and ‘away’ looks. This year’s offers a festive vibe similar to last year’s release, and though it doesn’t feature more than a few select white hits, the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Christmas Day’ does indeed connect with that idea of driven snow ‘purity’ thanks to its huge sweeps of tonal red. Paired with white-ticked green laces, they’re something like an un-Tree, and these latest images show that in a small enough size (or on a large enough tree), they have the look of a sneakerhead’s favorite ornament. Check out a run of new images after the jump and let us know where these rank on your holiday wish list. via Kickz-Lab

Wale’s name is always mentioned when discussing celebrity sneakerheads, even by other celebrities. In fact, last week, Wale’s name came up when NBA baller Jarrett Jack talked about kicks, and he claimed to have a better collection than the DMV-based rapper. While any sort of competition hasn’t risen, Wale has continued to show off his best kicks – in this case, the Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’ that dropped earlier this month. He wore them during a performance in mid-November for The Daily Habit on FuelTV. Check out the video as well as some stills of Wale wearing his kicks after the jump.

After a relatively brief period that started when the Air Foamposite One hit in early 2009 in this unmistakable purple shade, Nike Sportswear has dialed down the frequency of its ‘Eggplant’ releases. The most recent sighting was on a pair of Zoom Rookie LWPs, an Air Penny mashup that has obvious connections to the original matte metallic purple release. And from the Penny Hardaway hybrid we move toward another 1990′s Nike legend for a new Nike Air Max JR that might make you wonder how many records Ken Griffey Jr. could have set as a member of the Colorado Rockies. The ‘Eggplant’ Air Max JR reminds us of the 1998 Home Run Derby where Junior nearly doubled his second place foe, a guy in Vinny Castilla who himself had benefitted majorly from playing in the Mile High City’s notoriously thin air. Click through to get some more angles of this iridescent purple design and look for a pair today at NSW retailers like Foot Locker.

With boots and boot-inspired hybrids more popular than ever within the sneakerhead set, it’s only right to see one of the all-time greats offer one of the widest range of boot looks. We’ve seen plenty of Air Force 1 boots, from the ‘Workboot’ edition to the ‘Duckboots’, and now you can apply the kind of premium leather you’d find on the former to a new round of Nike Air Force 1 iD options. Expect top-notch quality and rustic colors when these hit NIKEiD on Thursday, December 1st, one combination of which is certain to find a huge following in the Austin, Texas area. Click through to see more and let us know how these compare to Nike Sportswear’s own Air Force 1 Boots.

Now that the NBA is back on track, you can bet that the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Supreme will be showing up on a fair number of feet for the 66 game season. This quick re-introduction of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 brings a more intricate design on the layered upper, with a gridded geometric pattern popping up on the lower half of the sneaker. The colorways we’ve seen so far have went with a tonal look and this one maintains that theme, pairing a range of oranges for one of the brightest Hyperfuse joints we’ve seen yet. Check out the detailed images we’ve got for you after the jump and scoop these up now at Eastbay.

The layered look is always a popular one for the fall, but it’s one we don’t usually see it applied to sneakers. Converse doesn’t care though, coming with the double collar releases that bring the padded look with an extra hit of support around the inner lining of the shoe. This low-top release sports a soft grey nubuck, with the additional collar at the ankle area popping up in stark contrast to the overall light makeup of the sneaker. Where does this rank amount the upgrades we’ve seen to the typical Converse Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette we’ve seen this season? Let us know after the jump and if you need these in your life then grab them now at the Converse webstore.
