Get ready for an ‘encore’ for the Air Jordan IV in 2012, because if 2011′s releases of the Air Jordan III is any indication of what’s planned, it’ll be OG heaven. The White/Cement IV and Military Blue joints are already confirmed (and the Bred IVs could possibly be a Black Friday 2012 release), so what Retro+ or Lifestyle colorways are there in store? An Air Jordan IV ‘Year of the Dragon’? Just reciting that phrase should send chills down your spine. Let’s take a look back at one of the sickest Air Jordans of all-time – the Eminem x Air Jordan IV; just fifty pairs exist and are in the hands of Eminem’s closest individuals as well as the utmost of sneaker collectors (even Jordan Geller has a pair displayed in his ShoeZeum). We can thank Slim Shady’s relationship with Nike for this astounding sneaker, but let’s cross our fingers for a similar release in 2012 (the Knicks Spizikes came pretty close). If you’re on that collector’s tip with disposable money, cop this size 14 pair right now from lilshk54321 on eBay.

You’re missing out if you decide to skip out on this week’s Sneaker News Blogs: Best of WDYWT, so check ‘em all out below and vote for your favorite at the very end!

With so many Miami-inspired colorways of the Nike LeBron 9 to have released, it’s about time ‘The U’, one of icons of the Miami sports foundation, gets some representation. It encapsulates the famous Hurricanes colorway of White, Green and Orange, which is a color-combination that is more ‘Miami’ than any other we’ve seen on a LeBron thus far (or do you disagree)? These are the third and final of the known University Pack relaeases and are slated to hit Nikestore on midnight and tomorrow at select Nike Basketball retailers, so click through for another detailed look and cop a pair right now on eBay.

Can you feel it in the air? Cyber Monday is upon us, which typically marks the unofficial opening weekend of the chaotic Holiday shopping season. Already at the top of many ‘Want’ lists is the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, which will release on December 23rd in full family sizes. Widely acclaimed as one of the best Air Jordans to have ever been created, Michael Jordan himself caused the buzz around the shoe when he decided to make the switch during the 1995 NBA Playoffs; even a poised Ahmad Rashad, who was roaming the court as a sideline reporter for NBC, was astonished at the unparalleled beauty of the Air Jordan XI (the first televised ‘neck-breaking’?). Well, now that you know it’ll be available in multiple tiers of sizes for your clan, does this change your shopping plans? Check out the new detailed gallery below and let us know how many of these you’ll have to cop by the Holiday. via Warped.

Shawn Kemp’s 1990′s reign as the premier above-the-rim forward in the league is one of the most remembered NBA tenures in the game’s history. He threw down with complete disregard for human life (just ask the Golden State Warriors), made hanging on the rim an artform, and even helped the Seattle Sonics reach the NBA Finals in 1996, beating the 72-10 Chicago Bulls twice during that series. His departure from Seattle marked the end of the Reign Man, who brought with him quite a few extra pounds and thusly a decreased vertical leap, and faded away as the butt of numerous jokes – only to return in tip-top shape in his comeback attempts in the mid-late 2000′s. During Kemp’s reign of terror, he sported one of most memorable line of signature basketball shoes with Reebok while wearing Nike before and after that time, so check out a quick helping of some of his best sneaker moments below and head to Complex for the full feature.

You might think the popularity of Foamposites have peaked, but the apex is certainly much higher thanks to a number of highly-anticipated releases for 2012. ‘Electrolime’ has us dazzled while ‘Metallic Red’ keeps us excited, but what if these ‘Snakeskin’ customs released? The latest Foamposite custom job, done by Gourmet Kickz, is completely wrapped in a shimmering faux snakeskin material with copper accents surrounding the shoe. Yes, those are actual pennies covering the 1-Cent logo, and the strip of copper dots are actually CopperHead brand BBs. A bit to ornate for your taste, or is this gaudy production right up the Foamposite alley? Check out the images below and hit up AF1King to get your customs done. via paintorthread.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VII will soon join Nike iD availability, so here’s a look at the Nike iD template view. Currently slated to release for $180for men and women – the same price-tag as the Zoom Kobe VII Supreme – the Zoom Kobe VII iD leaves a lot of questions; will there be any gradient/camouflage print available for the newly designed upper? Are translucent outsoles a possibility? What are the options for Kobe VII removable insole (which, by the way, is also iD-able for $55). It appears that the Big Three Nike Basketball signatures, which typically coincide with the NBA Season, will all be featured on Nike iD, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information on the Kobe VII iD information and let us know what special colorways you have in mind.

The Black/Cement IIIs should have given you your Thanksgiving weekend sneaker-head fill, but save some room for a decadent dessert – the Black Flip III. The ‘Flip’ concept was introduced back in 2007 as a re-imagination of the original Air Jordan III design, and reception was surprisingly positive; messing around with the original state is often a sensitive topic of Jordan purists, but news of the ‘Black Flip’ was certainly one of the best surprises of the year. A few things to note about these; it gets yet another price-bump (from an already aching $160 to a piercing $175). These have begun to arrive at Jordan Brand retailers like MrRSports, so check out the images below once more before the 12/3 release and cop a pair now on eBay.

It’s safe to say that Reebok is pretty pleased with their ongoing Swizz Beatz partnership, as the man has brought them a huge amount of attention with his Kamikaze releases and the like. The brand seems unafraid to reach out to other, less established hip-hop artists to rep their sneakers-linking up with MMG representative Meek Mill for the launch of the Reebok Blast in a move that echoes the recent Kendrick Lamar/adidas sightings. The retro release of the Reebok Blast was foreshadowed by this sample that popped up a few months back, and it looks like the shoe will be hitting shelves this December. Featuring the familiar honeycombed Hexalite technology and the namesake ‘blast’ on the back end, this Reebok release ups the ante for off the wall sneakers. Get at full look at them after the jump and stick with us for release info. Oh and don’t worry, these won’t set you back a fat wad of cash like your boy Meek Mill is holding here, retail is set at $95.

Knicks playing ball this season? Book it – for now. With a 66-game schedule in the works between the owners and players, we can finally look forward to some on-court heat, like this Green/Orange colorway of the Jordan Melo M8 that could be on the feet of Melo when the Knicks tip off on Christmas Day against the Boston Celtics. These could also make for a great St. Patrick’s Day PE as the New York Knicks have worn Green/Orange uniforms on that holiday for several years, but while there’s no official indication that this is indeed a holiday designation, we’re betting Carmelo will wear these or something close to it once the holiday arrives. Another interesting fact to point out; the last time the NBA experienced a shortened NBA season, the New York Knicks went to the NBA Finals. These have popped up at House of Hoops Barcelona, so check out the extra image below and stick with Sneaker News for U.S. availability.
