While basketball fans were suffering with the spectre of an NBA season lost to another lockout, we all kept our collective heads up with the knowledge that we’d at least have the 2012 London Olympic Games. Nike is perhaps more aware of this fact than anyone other than maybe Coca-Cola, so you can expect a variety of Olympic-oriented sneakers and gear, probably in just a few short months. The earliest indication of such a release comes at least in part from Nike Sportswear, and perhaps entirely, though the recent release of one of these models on NIKEiD suggests it might still fall under the Nike Basketball umbrella. That’s where each of these classic basketball shoes from the upcoming ‘USAB Pack’ originated, this pack containing three gold medal winners and the aforementioned Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 that’s considered a gold standard in b-ball kicks to this day.
Joining the Huarache 2k4s in this white, navy, red and gold-colored quartet is the Nike Air Force 180we’ve only seen in hybrid form since the last retros in early 2008. Joining that Charles Barkley look from the 1992 Dream Team comes Scottie Pippen’s Air More Uptempo from the ’96 Atlanta Games, along with Vince Carter’s Shox BB4 from the millenial event in Athens. It could be harder to find a sneakerhead without warm and fuzzy feelings for at least one of these shoes, than to find someone who’s indifferent to the four-pack, so click through to see each of these models in their OG form and stick with Sneaker News so we can let you know each pair’s release date.

180's and Uptempos are a must
December 6th, 2011 at 10:20 am
The Pippen's are different from the House of Hoops release that recently came out, those ones match the retros from the picture. The new ones have the midsole coloring alternated. I would still cop the whole pack, w/ BB4s being first on the list.

I remember seeing Vince dunk over that French 7 footer Frederic Weiss live on TV, during the 2000 Olympics in Syxney Australia. I was 15 yrs old, and it was probably one of the top 2 or 3 best dunks I've seen to this day. Vince won the rookie of the year that previous season in 1999, and then won the dunk contest in the 2000 season right before the summer Olympics. The French papers called, and still call that dunk, "The Dunk of Death" ("le dunk de la mort"). Even Jason Kidd still says "it was one of the best plays I've ever seen". Definitely a dunk to remember. If you haven't seen it, just search-Vince carter Olympic dunk. You'll see…..

nike air force 180 and the air more uptempo
December 6th, 2011 at 11:01 am
The air force 180's are probably the best of these four. I love the Olympic air uptempo's too, but they were just retried at HOH in late 2009 or 2010. And I bought them then. 180's is where it's at….
December 6th, 2011 at 11:05 am
WOW! Thats a good look.
December 6th, 2011 at 11:12 am
The Air Force 180s are the best in this grouping of shoes imo.. Each has their own strong points tho

December 6th, 2011 at 12:43 pm
IMO They shoulda released the USA Flight Lite 2 Pippen wore on the Dream Team. I always thought More Uptempos looked like shoes for 4th graders. I want those force 180's tho!!!
December 6th, 2011 at 2:10 pm
180s are the must have for me…..and not just because everybody else mentioned them. They're just classic.
December 6th, 2011 at 2:31 pm
I'll take the Barkley 180's. Those are classic! I remember when they dropped. I was in the 6th grade lol.. The Pippens are nice but I already have a pair in a diff color. VC's greatest moment in history…but never was a fan of the SHOX technology. Too hard for me.

Am i the only one excited for the BB4's?
December 6th, 2011 at 3:06 pm
BB4 is one of my favorite sneakers of all time.
Thank god for releasing them!
December 6th, 2011 at 3:07 pm
Hell no.. big fan of those.. i got two pairs in a Nike warehouse sale for 70 dollars each in the 2005.. so beat.
December 6th, 2011 at 3:15 pm
pippen and the 180s are all im excited about
December 6th, 2011 at 4:15 pm
So what's the 2008 shoe? The original Hyperdunks?
There should be one.
December 6th, 2011 at 5:15 pm
180 and uptempos for sure!
December 6th, 2011 at 5:19 pm
IMO better than almost every Jordan coming out in 2012
December 6th, 2011 at 6:37 pm
They should have waited to releases the Olympic 7 until 2012 IMO. Maybe doing the Olympic 6 as the For the Love of the Game if they wanted to do an Olympic Jordan then.
December 6th, 2011 at 7:33 pm
I'm pumped about the BB4's. Those were the shit back in the day.
And of course the uptempos and 180s are fire.
Hyperdunks… eh. Whatever.
December 6th, 2011 at 7:58 pm
Even better than the Olympic VI's?
December 7th, 2011 at 1:37 am
nike please release the rest of the vince carter line! specifically the 2's and 3's!!!! and the BB4s are a definite cop
