The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is an American icon on a level that even the vast majority of Air Jordans can’t even come close. It’s kind of like the t-shirt or a leather jacket, one of those indespensable items that has already passed the test of time and been adopted into the very DNA of our culture. The latest pack of Chucks comes in highs and lows and takes its inspiration from cultures that existed on this continent long before the USA was established. Dubbed the ‘In-Ethnic Pack’, this set of turquoise, red and black kicks adds a woven pattern to the heel of each pair that clearly connects with aboriginal weaving styles, yet calls out to no one tribe in particular. It’s a fitting vagueness for a shoe that itself has enjoyed success in nearly every subculture over the past century, and you’ll find them available now straight from Converse Japan.
