As if you really needed a reminder: Tomorrow, December 23rd, will be the official release date of the most anticipated and highly publicized sneaker of the 2011 – the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. It’s a sneaker deemed a holiday must-have even by non-sneaker heads, as it conveys more than just the astounding history of Jordan’s return in ’95 and magical season in ’96, but a symbol of footwear relevance in 2011. Wrapped in a luxurious black patent leather with a white ballistic nylon upper and an icy blue translucent outsole with just a hint of blue, the Concords will cause an immediate frenzy in retail stores and online merchants, so we hope you all prepared well for this year-defining release. Typically if it's a release I'm really gunning for I'll come out with 3 pair... This was a different animal. I opted to skip the online release and gambled with my local spots, knowing the size runs were extremely limited here (for this particular release). I told myself I'd be good with one size 12 and ended up only grabbing one, as dude behind me needed a sz.12 too; I couldn't bring myself to snag it from him cuz he waited just as long as I did. Now if this had been the black-cement release I'da copped them all (like i did) but dudes are sensitive about the Concords so I felt bad for homie. #XmasSpirit

I went yesterday at 5 pm and my store didn't open til 8 today... waited all night and Wen I got them and walked out a guy n line bought my size for 400 ... I never even looked at them... space jams here I kome
What gets me mad is that the majority of people were hypebeast or just jumped on the bandwagon. I over heard a girl say, "what time are they going to open footlocker for the black and white space jams." I wanted to slap the shit out of her lol, but didn't..... Poor kids waiting on line for 9 hours then come to find out it's sold out.. What I don't understand is why JORDAN BRAND won't make millions of pairs to keep everybody happy?? I mean if they think about they also would profit more cash in the bank.. I mean if I was the CEO I would make millions of pairs so everyone could enjoy it. It just doesn't make sense......
in a perfect world that might work. but in reality, companies want to uphold their reputation and sought-after-ness of their products. sure they will profit more for more pairs sold now, but they care more about the long term (i.e. retaining the rarity of the shoe some what and generating/augmenting consumer desires to purchase any future releases of the model or variants that are reminiscent of the model) -- supply control, just a tool for market manipulation
I have been up since 6 since cops killed people out the mall at midnight. Then had to go to 6 different store but finally succeed. I would say out of all my sneakers I collect this release tops it at all measures. The yeezy's could not even touch it. c

Got my pair from a finishline store. I went a few days before they released and one of the managers told me that if I wanted to reserve them I had to pay an extra $100. (She was very cute BTW). They were going to have a midnight release. At first I wasn't sure, but as I thought more about it, it sounded like a good deal. $100 so I don't have to deal with the lines and online orders. So I did it and the total I ended up paying was $298. But she then told me that I had to go 1hr after they release (so at 1AM) So when I arrived at 1AM there were still about 20ish people there still in line. But then another manager came out and said that they were sold out and people left mad saying that they were in line for 9hrs. I felt kind of bad for them. So as they were leaving I entered the store and waited for everyone else to leave (except the manager that hooked me up) so then she finally said ok now lets get down to business. So she ran back and got my pair. So thinking back, i'm glad I paid the extra $100. And i'm very grateful that I got 1 pair

Yep. Got shutdown in Jacksonville Florida. Cops shut it down cause too many people were cutoff in line and bum rushing the door. Couple people got arrested too. Seriously!?!? For some shoes. All good though cause I got my two pairs from footlocker and my reserve from Finishline. Hope my boy and his wife like their Christmas presents!!!

walked into the London Westfield Footlocker at 09:05 (they had only had one of each size) got my 9.5's in UK sizing, then two people followed in, purchased the remaining sizes. No queues There are few sizes left on the UK NIKE website (not sure if they ship to US)
Got another pair for a friend at around 1 AM PST from Finishline. Took over an hour of refreshing though. By the time I finished the order, I checked to see what sizes were left and surprisingly, 9.5, 10.5, and 11 were still available to order.

Mall just stoped all sales down here in Lousiana. Too many ppl flighting and pushing to get in. They said come back at 8am. I dont understand this bc it will be the same thing at 8am
Was able to get a 9.5 off of finishline.com around 9:54 PM, then I was able to get my friend an 8.5 pair a few mins after. Tried to get a third pair for his friend but the Finish Line site seems to be down completely. I had a pair added and ready to go @ Nike.com but by the time I submitted my order with CC info entered in and everything, it paused and timed out. Here's hoping that Finish Line doesn't cancel out since they've done it before with me on the Altitudes last December.

You think they (Footaction, Eastbay, etc.) would know by now to be ready for a release like this...servers down for like an hour and a half...smh
