As if you really needed a reminder: Tomorrow, December 23rd, will be the official release date of the most anticipated and highly publicized sneaker of the 2011 – the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. It’s a sneaker deemed a holiday must-have even by non-sneaker heads, as it conveys more than just the astounding history of Jordan’s return in ’95 and magical season in ’96, but a symbol of footwear relevance in 2011. Wrapped in a luxurious black patent leather with a white ballistic nylon upper and an icy blue translucent outsole with just a hint of blue, the Concords will cause an immediate frenzy in retail stores and online merchants, so we hope you all prepared well for this year-defining release. These will hit retailers when the hour and minute hand meet at midnight, so make sure you play your cards right and get a pair in yours hands. Want to avoid the midnight or early-morning rush? Cop a pair now on eBay.

I tried again and again to get these, i guess it wasn't meant to be but shoutout to all the cool people I met in all 6 LINES I WAS ON!!!! and R.I.P. to the kid who was shot on 34th (not Footaction, I wish it was 34th's Footaction manager though) This shit cray, I love you concords but it seems i can't have you -RT
Typically if it's a release I'm really gunning for I'll come out with 3 pair... This was a different animal. I opted to skip the online release and gambled with my local spots, knowing the size runs were extremely limited here (for this particular release). I told myself I'd be good with one size 12 and ended up only grabbing one, as dude behind me needed a sz.12 too; I couldn't bring myself to snag it from him cuz he waited just as long as I did. Now if this had been the black-cement release I'da copped them all (like i did) but dudes are sensitive about the Concords so I felt bad for homie. #XmasSpirit
i had to cop size 10 concords. need 10.5. anyone in tri-state that maybe had the same situation with a 10.5 and wanna swap?
What gets me mad is that the majority of people were hypebeast or just jumped on the bandwagon. I over heard a girl say, "what time are they going to open footlocker for the black and white space jams." I wanted to slap the shit out of her lol, but didn't..... Basically, I didn't get my pair OR my little sister's pair. What a bad way to end the year... RIP to that nigga in DC that got killed.
Such a joke.I waited on nike store for 3 hours of crashing just to be told by a store rep that there sold out.To be quite honest Ive never understood the hype behind these sneaks? The toe is patent leather, meaning it creases on day one! trust me i have other sneaks with the patent.I will never understand the hype behind these, the 5's are so much doper in my opinion
My cousin got assaulted by a group of dickheads for his Concords today at highschool in Canada. GWS fam.
Poor kids waiting on line for 9 hours then come to find out it's sold out.. What I don't understand is why JORDAN BRAND won't make millions of pairs to keep everybody happy?? I mean if they think about they also would profit more cash in the bank.. I mean if I was the CEO I would make millions of pairs so everyone could enjoy it. It just doesn't make sense......
I have been up since 6 since cops killed people out the mall at midnight. Then had to go to 6 different store but finally succeed. I would say out of all my sneakers I collect this release tops it at all measures. The yeezy's could not even touch it. c
Got my pair from a finishline store. I went a few days before they released and one of the managers told me that if I wanted to reserve them I had to pay an extra $100. (She was very cute BTW). They were going to have a midnight release. At first I wasn't sure, but as I thought more about it, it sounded like a good deal. $100 so I don't have to deal with the lines and online orders. So I did it and the total I ended up paying was $298. But she then told me that I had to go 1hr after they release (so at 1AM) So when I arrived at 1AM there were still about 20ish people there still in line. But then another manager came out and said that they were sold out and people left mad saying that they were in line for 9hrs. I felt kind of bad for them. So as they were leaving I entered the store and waited for everyone else to leave (except the manager that hooked me up) so then she finally said ok now lets get down to business. So she ran back and got my pair. So thinking back, i'm glad I paid the extra $100. And i'm very grateful that I got 1 pair
Cant complain, i signed online to nikestore.com and got my pair with ease w/ free shipping -- shame people had to push and fight in crazy lines. Merry Xmas
went to HOH in NC. 10 minutes before they open the fire marshall comes and shuts that shit down. cops were pepper spraying kids. shit was crazy. looks like i gotta go online and pay 300 plus for some concords now. i probably could have stuck around and waited for HOH to open but i wasn't trying to get pepper sprayed and arrested over some kicks
Yep. Got shutdown in Jacksonville Florida. Cops shut it down cause too many people were cutoff in line and bum rushing the door. Couple people got arrested too. Seriously!?!? For some shoes. All good though cause I got my two pairs from footlocker and my reserve from Finishline. Hope my boy and his wife like their Christmas presents!!!
walked into the London Westfield Footlocker at 09:05 (they had only had one of each size) got my 9.5's in UK sizing, then two people followed in, purchased the remaining sizes. No queues There are few sizes left on the UK NIKE website (not sure if they ship to US)
Got another pair for a friend at around 1 AM PST from Finishline. Took over an hour of refreshing though. By the time I finished the order, I checked to see what sizes were left and surprisingly, 9.5, 10.5, and 11 were still available to order.
RIP tyreek amir jacobs killed over a pair of concords this saddens shoes are getting so hyped young kids are getting shot and killed over and jb is just profiting.
Mall just stoped all sales down here in Lousiana. Too many ppl flighting and pushing to get in. They said come back at 8am. I dont understand this bc it will be the same thing at 8am
Was able to get a 9.5 off of finishline.com around 9:54 PM, then I was able to get my friend an 8.5 pair a few mins after. Tried to get a third pair for his friend but the Finish Line site seems to be down completely. I had a pair added and ready to go @ Nike.com but by the time I submitted my order with CC info entered in and everything, it paused and timed out. Here's hoping that Finish Line doesn't cancel out since they've done it before with me on the Altitudes last December.
I STOOD ON LINE AT FOOT LOCKER FOR 8HRS TO GET THESE JOINTS!!!...IT WAS BANANAS OUTSIDE...THE LINE LOOKED LIKE NEW YEARS EVE IN NYC!!!...BUT I GOT 'EM AND LINKED UP WITH SOME COOL PEEPS...IT'S 230 IN THE MORNING HERE IN NYC, AND PPL ARE STILL OUTSIDE TRYNA COP A PAIR!!!
Got an order confirmation from Finishline...still not ecstatic because they have cancelled orders in the past...still holding on to hope though! And what the hell! You think they (Footaction, Eastbay, etc.) would know by now to be ready for a release like this...servers down for like an hour and a half...smh
I got mine off of Finishline.com...Still some available, you just have to know how to get in to the site and have a fast intranet connect. Good luck to everyone
I got 3 pairs. Even I live in Japan, this release was hard. Merry Xmas to everyone. Now I am going to sleep.
I went yesterday at 5 pm and my store didn't open til 8 today... waited all night and Wen I got them and walked out a guy n line bought my size for 400 ... I never even looked at them... space jams here I kome
in a perfect world that might work. but in reality, companies want to uphold their reputation and sought-after-ness of their products. sure they will profit more for more pairs sold now, but they care more about the long term (i.e. retaining the rarity of the shoe some what and generating/augmenting consumer desires to purchase any future releases of the model or variants that are reminiscent of the model) -- supply control, just a tool for market manipulation
