As of midnight last night, the Sneaker News 2011 Readers’ Choice Poll results were officially in the books, leading us right up to tonight’s moment of truth and the unveiling of this year’s winners. There were runaway landslides and some neck-and-neck battles, obvious favorites and a few sleepers, and when it was all said and done, we’re left with a year-end awards list determined entirely by you, our faithful readers. You might not be on board with all the winners, and quite frankly, neither are we, but at the end of the day, majority rules and the people have spoken. Nike Mags are THE shoe of 2011. Hands down. It wasn't a retro. It was never seen before besides in a movie. That's the shoe. Who cares what a poll on the internet says? Make up your own mind. Draw your own conclusions. Concords are definitely the most hyped shoe of the year, and possibly of all time. But it's because it has back story. But nah, the Mags are it for 2011. THE shoe. It's just too bad they weren't like a quickstrike instead of a super limited run. But I get why they did it the way they did. The intentions were honorable, and at the end of the day that's what counts.

mags were hands down the best release of the year
Lost in all of the madness is the upcoming Zoom Flight (the Glove) re-release and the Air Max Uptempo 95. For me, those are two of the most anticipated shoe releases of 2012. I can't get amped over retro releases anymore becuase Nike compresses so many is such a small time frame that cats can barely recover before the next "hyped" one comes out. And on top of that, the quality is worse than the original release and they jumped the price up $10. But some of these new kids don't know that, they just blinded by the promo and not up on the history. Recognize.
All I'm saying is most anticipated shoe release of 2012 is Cement 4s. I absolutely love those.

mags are for charity and that is the ONLY shoe that when you buy you shouldnt wear but the whole idea behind it was amazing and it raised millions for charity so fuck you you piece of shit.

Think this is a reasonable list, I can see why the Concords beat the mags too. I mean how many of us will own that shoe let alone see it lol. So to me its like the mag never existed to be honest unless you had 3K sitting around the house. On other note my fav non-Nike shoe this year has to be the Kobe Crazy 8s top 5 sneaker for me. I remember when they first came out and I had a pair in 1st grade, this is what makes you love sneakers the memories....

Hype is predictable so I didn't vote on the first page because we all knew what was gonna win but the hardest question on here the last one is complete BS. I took me about 15 min to make my pick (Olympics) but it took me 1/2 a second to cross the yeezy 2 out of my option list.

Apparently the majority of the votes was from the hypebeast crowd. How were the Mag's not the best overall and the Oregon 3's not the best PE's? Insanity.
I preferred ray allens, meant more, better looking sneaker. Oregon pair was meh unless you're from oregon.

First you say you have to like other sneakers other than Js,, then you go off about other Js being better, see the problem here? So what if the youngsters think Js are the only things that makes one a sneaker head? It all starts somewhere doesn't it? Jordans has been established as a stable in the community, if the sneaker game continue to interest them, then they will find their way to be exposed to other brands of sneakers. Of course there were, there's always peoplemlike that for every release, even black cements. I copped two pairs of concords, for myself, and I've been wearing one pair since release date. I honestly don't ind that the sneaker culture has gained publicity because of this release.
