Around these parts, the lion’s share of retro signature sneakers that pop up bear the names of basketball’s elite. A bit of an anomaly in that category is the adidas Rod Laver, a low-top sneaker made for the tennis master of the same name that made its debut long before anyone wanted to be like Mike. Having since been reinvented a handful of times, the latest version of the shoe comes from the adidas Skateboarding division. This particular model was done up by team rider Dennis Busenitz, whose name pops up on the heel section of the midsole and the unique tongue tag. Busenitz keeps the colorway pretty straightforward, with a smooth black suede paired up with contrastive white stitching.
