Nike Air Yeezy Laser Sample

The Nike Air Yeezy remains as one of the most compelling year-round sneaker topics in the game, and with the upcoming release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, it’ll reach higher heights. Until we do get more solid information regarding the release (tentatively set at 3/23/12), here’s a look at some more Air Yeezy goodness – a 1-of-1 ‘Laser’ sample. It features a similar colorway to the ‘Grammy’ edition that was auctioned off over two years ago, but this particular pair features lasering of the ‘YEEZY’ graphic on the midfoot strap that was seen on heel-tabs of other Air Yeezy samples. Check out the video below to get a look at the sample and let us know what you think.

Nike Air Max 90 VT Bright Turquoise Unreleased Sample

The Nike Air Max 90 VT will continue as part of Nike Sportswear’s spring 2012 release schedule, but the focus has shifted in recent weeks from the construction that marked the earlier pairs to a concentration of wooly uppers in a variety of knits.  And while we got a nice variety of leather and suede VacTech Air Max 90s, the above pictured pair certainly wouldn’t have fallen on deaf ears had they made the cut.  These Bright Turquoise AM90 VTs have the same all-over look as many of the other pairs, but this color is just so vibrant that they feel like these would have been in a class by their own.  Did NSW nix the best potential release from its VacTech collection, or would you have passed on these during the ultra-stacked holiday shopping season?  Let us know what you think about this unreleased sample when you click through to see more angles, and if you want to be the only one wearing these, check out the auction from dballaholic on eBay.

Air Jordan XIV White Sport Red | New Photos

While the ‘Last Shot’ release of the Air Jordan XIV sorta came and went without making much noise (just too much darn heat dropping in December), the XIV will still get some nice representation in early 2012 as the release of the White/Sport Red colorway still looms. As you all know, the Air Jordan XIV was designed with Michael’s Ferrari in mind, and the White base of this colorway truly accentuates then lines and details that make the XIV one the most intricately-designed Air Jordans of all-time. With the Holiday shopping season still going strong (post-Holiday sales, gift-cards, exchanges), we expect these to be a sleeper hit amidst the other scheduled AJ Retro releases of Spring 2012. Will you cop? Let us know below. via soleland.

Patta x Asics Gel Saga – Detailed Images

Usually when Dutch boutique Patta teams up with your favorite footwear brand for a collaborative sneaker, the results aren’t exactly easy to get your hands on. Their latest drop, an Amsterdam-inspired colorway of the Asics Gel Saga will be especially elusive for our stateside readers, as it’s looking like a Euro-only drop up to this point. Following the recent release in their flagship store, these will be finding their way to other top notch retailers across the continent pretty soon. Follow us after the jump for a detailed look at this sleek runner, and let us know if you’ve got a Euro connect who is helping you out on this Asics release. If so, they can be had at spots like Sneakers N Stuff come December 30th.

Air Jordan XI Original Sketches By Tinker Hatfield

Need proof that the Air Jordan XI is the most beloved Air Jordan of all-time? Just look at immense media frenzy caused by the chaotic release of the Concords late last week. ‘Concords’ is no longer a term exclusive to sneakerheads, but one that has infiltrated pop-culture mainstream waves, so let’s take a quick look back to the origins of the XI; these early sketches done by Air Jordan XI designer Tinker Hatfield reveals what exactly Tinker had in mind, but did he know that the XI would be the success it is today? Take a look below and let us know if you think the Air Jordan XI is the greatest Air Jordan of all-time. via Complex.

Air Jordan IV GS Ultraviolet New Images

2012 is shaping up to feature a strong run of GS-sized Air Jordan Retros, three of which are separated by mere degrees.  The Air Jordan IV GS is pictured above in a white leather construction with Ultraviolet accents, just a bit of extra grey and one hit of Cyber or two from matching the Air Jordan X GS also set to hit soon.  And though the colorways are nothing alike, it could be argued that this IV’s feminine appeal more closely correlates with the other AJ4 GS coming up soon in Voltage Cherry with the FTLOTG symbol on its heels.  So as you can see, there’s quite a lot of heat for the young (ladies) coming up early next year from Jordan Brand, and you can see a bit more from the Ultraviolet Air Jordan IV after the jump.  via Soleland

Nike Pre Montreal Racer Quickstrike

Imagine if LeBron James had come out of high school and followed the career path we’ve seen through, say, about season four, met with an untimely demise.  A closer analogy to Steve Prefontaine might actually be Drazen Petrovic, since both young athletes were killed in car accidents.  But where Petrovic remains a Croatian legend and one of the Nets’ all-timers, Pre was more like LeBron in the sense that he created a legacy of excellence early in life, had an impact well beyond his sport, and always wore the Nike Swoosh.  That’s just a bit of historical context for the Nike Pre Montreal Racer, a model so classic that we can’t pretend like that explanation was just for the ‘young’ sneakerheads.  This shoe was one of Nike’s first runners, a 1973 debut that showed Nike would stand behind Prefontaine’s push to capture that elusive 5000m gold at the ’76 games in Quebec.  But Pre never made it to Montreal, but thanks to the internet, we have the ability to visit England for a chance at the Quickstrike that’s only available in the UK at Size?.

Russell Westbrooks Air Jordan III True Blue Rollerskates

During the late 1980′s, the footwear scene in two popular sports would change forever. The Air Jordan III was created by Tinker Hatfield, re-routing the Air Jordan legacy into the astounding heights it is currently floating around today, and inline skates began to be mass-manufactured, making the 2×2 roller-skate set-up an official ‘Retro’ and vintage item. This funky pair of Air Jordan III Rollerskates in the ‘True Blue’ colorway was recently ‘flossed’ on the internet by a stern-faced Russell Westbrook, who backed up his photo with a claim that his skating skills are up there with his rock-dishing ability. You might remember that OG pair of the Nike Killshot roller-skates we showed you on Sneaker News before, but you would you consider rocking Air Jordan Retro rollerskates to your local roller derby?

Nike Lunar Forever

Nike’s Lunar cushioning platform has stolen the majority of the Running division’s new releases from the Air Max and Zoom setups that’ve dominated for years, this latest entrant likely to find itself somewhere in the middle of that pack in terms of both technical specs and price.  The Nike Lunar Forever is a nice mix of refined old school meets cutting edge new (hence the name), a shoe whose leather and mesh upper is downright retrofied compared to some of the Hyperfuse and Flywire-laden drops we’re used to these days, but one whose LunarLon sole immediately establishes its modern day credibility.  This ‘Mango Fog’ colorway was crafted especially for ladies, and like the Air Force 1 Light we previewed a short while ago, it’s unclear as of this writing if we’ll see these in mens sizes as well.  Let us know if these would make your shopping list if they do, and you can click through on the jump below to see more details.  via Sneaker Freaker
