They’re historically overshadowed because of a certain sick performance where Michael Jordan not only beat the Utah Jazz, but also food poisoning, but don’t forget that it was an Air Jordan XII original colorway other than the ‘Flu Game’ edition that MJ wore to capture the crown. The Air Jordan 12 Retro ‘Playoffs’ have dropped once since their 1997 debut, this latest run following up on a 2004 release that has each generation placed about an equal distance apart on the timeline. We still don’t have an official word on whether these will beat the ‘Obsidian’ OG or the new ‘Cool Grey’ AJXII to retail in 2012, but an increased frequency of previews while the others stay more mysterious suggests these would be the pack leader, perhaps right in time for this year’s NBA postseason. Be sure to check back with Sneaker News for the US release date, and check out a new series of images depicting the Grade School edition in the meantime. via Air-Randy
