Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Year of the Dragon’ – Release Info

Nike Air Force 1 Low Year Of The Dragon 11 570x377

After absolutely zero buildup in 2011, the Nike ‘Year of the Dragon’ collection made some big waves early this year with designs spread from the Sportswear division all the way to Jordan Brand. And while it’s great to see some new designs get the Water Dragon theme, there’s one NSW silhouette that’s been there for the cycle of the Chinese Zodiac year in and year out, and that’s the Nike Air Force 1 Low. The ‘Year of the Dragon’ Air Force 1 Low offers a subtle take on the theme with tonal black embroidery all over the silken uppers, a look so clean (especially from a distance) that the new ‘AF1-XXX’ gridded box might get even more attention than the shoe itself. This package has been seen in earlier images, but these latest shots depict a dragon graphic overlay not totally unlike the YOTD AF1s, but the effect is quite different thanks to the details in black atop the aforementioned red-on-white grid. It’s a great way to kick off the Air Force 1’s 30th anniversary year, and while some Tier Zero retailers expect to have theirs in stock on Sunday, San Antonio’s Sole Boutique and some other shops will be selling their pairs a day earlier, on January 14th, so make sure to check with your local spot.
