One of the more significant trends in the wake of 2008’s global financial crisis was a return to traditional styles that’d stood the test of time and remained in the crucible of time while other more transient designs dwindled into the ashes. We’ve seen all kinds of sneaker designs influenced by classic ‘dressy’ looks, ranging from wingtips to boat shoes and don’t forget about all the familiar boot-inspired styles we saw this winter. Now moving into another warm season, Nike Sportswear will continue blurring the lines between casual sneakers and old school favorites, this new Nike Lunar Flow coming through with a stately appeal only matched by the recently revealed Nike x Cole Haan LunarGrand mashup. The rich Hazelnut leather on these slot-perfed Lunar Flow is downright elegant with its deconstructed, leather-lined build nessled up against a tonal LunarLon sole; are they better than the whtie-bottomed version we previewed right around the turn of the year? Let us know which pair you prefer, but don’t expect to have your choice, as it’s likely that only one of these styles will hit retailers, and given this one’s newness, it’s gotta have the edge.
