Nevermind that he’s been a Nike athlete for several years now, the New Balance 574 is hitting with all the power and quickness of Manny Pacquiao of late. The NB574 has widely been recognized as one of the pillars of the classic running canon, and it’s been released in countless colorways since the 1988 originals, with more grey and navy suede drops than most shoes have had from all the rest of the colors combined. But over the past three months or so, the US/UK brand has dropped and previewed so much heat, it’s as if this is a brand new model that’s getting the kind of attention reserved for a superstar signature athlete. But it’s not even a sport that’s being represented in this latest pack, but more of an accessory with the ‘Backpack Pack’ slapping five different suedes with golden brown ‘N’ branding and diamond loop you’d find on 80s era backpacks. NB has shown a penchant for luggage-inspired sneakers over the years, and though these aren’t the most pointedly luxurious, are they the best yet?
