adidas Originals has done a superb job of mixing heritage models with fresh new designs, and with so many to pick from now in both categories, it’s inevitable that some are deserving of more attention.  One such recent debut is the adidas Originals Roundhouse, a sleek, strapped midtop that combines early ’90s basketball with a bit of the trainer vibe from that same era.  We’ve only seen a handful of colors since it first dropped a couple years back, but Jeremy Scott has chosen to resurrect it for one of his most unique Originals by Originals releases yet.  Not only is the Jeremy Scott Roundhouse Mid ‘Handcuff’ a more familiar colorway than he tends toward, but the addition of a chain and cuff on the heel is perhaps the craziest accessory addition he’s offered thus far.  Click through to see these from more angles and let us know if you’re already excited for the fall/winter 2012 collection.  via HS

I think if people knew what this Scott character looks like, no one would want to rock anything he made. kinda like a gay version of Pauly Shore on Encino Man.

Interesting/annoying how people automatically associated this with black people... I didn't know adidas were only ment for blacks . hmmm, im Brown so I guess I cant use them for running, tennis or for soccer anymore.. Their marketing quote = "Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles" - message pretty simple and straight forward. your reading way to much into it When playing any sport and someone is doing really good - have you never heard / jokingly said,, "its gotta be the shoes" this is what i thought about when i read it/saw pic. So whats next - people who use chains to lock up their bikes, fences or any other purpose ... are being racist too... some people should just not be allowed on the comp.

Cant believe this has been taken to a racial debate..Im black and at some point i feel the overuse of the word "racism" makes it lose all kind o credibility. thoz shoess wil find customers from all backgrounds, i find it so weak to bring this up that im wondering if its not an anti-adidas propaganda.

Although the price tag is ridiculous, I do feel like these are a good set of trainers. The same morons that will purchase this shoe with their well fare check will end up wearing the real thing soon enough. As coach always says, "practice like you play".

For those who in any way feel these shoes represents slavery or racism in any way, please take a breath. Now go to the bathroom but before you get there, remember whoever stares back in the bathroom mirror is the one responsible for your disease; Yes, it may come as a shock, however "Sissy Oversensitiveness/Attention Whore" afflicts many people. Symptoms include, but not limited too, stretching as far as possible to create some type of unecessary nonsense. Also many subjects experience "Debbie Downer Palsy", where you will often bring up nothing but negative comments, stories and or suggestions for everything. These serious conditions of naive ignorance are treatable. Just refrain from bringing your ignorance to the point of action, it may cause dispicable results. Get Well Soon!

At first I saw only shoes with a security band. Then I saw the comments. Like love and hate, racism is in the eye of the "beholder." Far too many people see racism everywhere. Why? because they're looking for it. Drive a Volvo and you notice Volvos on the road. Drive a Mustang and you evaluate every Ford you see in terms of your car. Relax! It's only a witty security band, nothing more.

Might be a little disrespectful towards the black community. Its like if JS was mocking slavery

I'd take the handcuffs off..lol but these are pretty damn sexy!

You actually tie/wear the "hancuffs" around your shin-ankle when you wear these. So you'll be looking like those prisoners with the old ball and chain if you get my drift.

because he had sexual thoughts on his mind at the time he was designing them. he was probably thinking how he was going to handcuff his boyfriend and do the hibity dibity with him .

I dig the way adidas thinks outside the box and brings in cats with the designs to keep joints interesting.

SLAVERY AND RACIST VIEWS ON THESE SHOES ARE PERCEPTIONS CREATED OUT OF INSECURITY, NAIVITY AND FLAT OUT IGNORANCE. For those not aware, SO is called Sissy Oversensitiveness", its a disorder where subjects are apt to nonsensical jibber jabber/filibuster regarding some sort of nonsensical injustice that is taking place. This disorder is in the category "Whoa is Me". Whoa is me is a category of diseases brought on by persistant and constant displays of ignorance and dispicable actions. SO, is a very serious disease and it looks like a lot of people dont have blood in their veins, they have weak sauce, that is suseptible to whoa is me disorders! Another side effect of SO, is DDP or Debbie Downer Palsy. This disease causes subjects to ruin the moment, the day, the week, or anytime they are around thru negartive, pessimistic and downright, gloomy outlook on everything. There is hope and an instant cure for both SO and DDP, Step 1: Dont be yourself, be awesome instead. Step 2: Repeat Step 1 until people stop ignoring and/or making fun of you GET WELL SOON :)
