The increased extent to which sneakers are released in themed packs has brought along with it a few sets that express a more abstract inspiration than just copying the colors from a familiar object. Models like the ‘Your Time Will Come’ Air Royal from Nike Sportswear and Reebok’s Alien Stomper collabo with England’s Visual Countermeasures Project represent a thinking man’s approach to sneaker design, and this new collection from adidas Originals manages to take direction from a similarly atypical source. The adidas Originals ZX 750 ‘Make Moves’ brings together seven new colorways for men and women that manifest a vision of people getting stuff done in all kinds of ways. Three Stripes regards “Everything an individual does to improve their situation, or in pursuit of a dream [as] a move,” and the designs that hold it all together are the kind of simple high-contrast fare you might have expected from the ZX series 1980s heyday.
