Nike Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 Officially Unveiled

Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a look at the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 in the Team USAB colorway of White, Obsidian, and Red. In accordance with this mass unveiling of upcoming sneakers, Nike Basketball has officially unveiled the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk 2012, accentuating the space-age design with this futuristic colorway of White and Neon Green tones. Since 2008, the Nike Hyperdunk has elevated performance basketball to new heights using Flywire as the pillar of the lightweight nature of the shoe, but the Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 expands on the Hyperdunk mantra by including an all-new basketball-specific LunarLon outsole with a new dynamic Flywire unit that stretches at key stress points and rests where the foot rests. Stabilizing the foot is the glass-reinforced composite mid-foot shank, while elevated forefoot outriggers provides the foot with security during hard cuts. Check out the detailed angles of the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 below and stick with Sneaker News for more on the Nike LunarLon Collection.

aesthetically speaking…i really love certain parts of the shoe, but not as much as the parts i don't like…

  4. Nadrojj Says:

Wow, that candy apple green lunarlon is dope.

  5. charlie Says:

what happens if the flywire breaks/gets broken?

  6. @AndrewCHoward Says:

I'm sure its an excellent basketball shoe but not for casual use… at least as it is tied now.

  7. skinnypenny901 Says:

    flywire doesnt break homie…

  8. Jim Bob Tawney Says:

These shoes will sell because you can kick somebody's ass and floss their teeth at the same time. Wack shoe. I can see what they're doin with this. Nike's getting cheap on us…Well, cheapER than they already were.

  9. Ryan Roslyn Says:

    agreed

  10. antiRick"rosay"Ross Says:

thanks for the insight, really helpful

  11. airyoshi12 Says:

Wait…so no more Zoom Air…? Garbage.

  12. @BGordy16 Says:

OOOOOOO okay this explains that LeBron 10 or 9 P.S sample we seen a while back with the exposed Flywire and the full length Zoom Bag

  13. NolterVetter Says:

Lunarlon is a retarded name for anything. WTF is lon? Plus, it's for runners, not ball shoes. These need to come out in Zoom, even Max air would be a thousand times better. And the exposed flywire… a pair of scissors in some jerks hands, and these shoes are quickly fucked.

  14. colin Says:

swosh on the toe is no no

  15. SWITCH Says:

I'm loving these shoes!!!! The future is here!!! Thank god!!!! I'm sick of that old ass retro shit!!!

  16. VoiceOfReason Says:

A pair of scissors in some jerks hands and any shoes are fucked your fucking jagoff

  17. kha_boogie Says:

hope tht flywire holds esp. outdoors but these are nice i wud def cop and a few cws mite just make me wear em casually

  18. SnoopDoggyDoug Says:

There was Lunarlon in the Kobe IV homie. It takes the impact and spreads it out over the whole area, rather than just the point of impact.

  19. SnoopDoggyDoug Says:

Not true. Though it is designed to hold over 2000 pounds of force, it can break as I ripped my original Hyperdunks while hooping in them.

  20. SnoopDoggyDoug Says:

How are they getting cheap by allowing you to see the technology? Everyone always asks, "What does this shoe do for me? and Where can I see it?" Right in front of your eyes is the answer.

  21. lil midge Says:

i knoww its like they run out of room for a good place to put it

  22. brah Says:

treat them flywires as if there were laces and youll be fine brah

  23. 123 Says:

so what does it do? nothing…. looks like aesthetics to me

  24. 123 Says:

    trickle down

  25. 123 Says:

thats the best place to put it!!!

  26. Zach Says:

reminds me of crazy lights for some reason?

  27. Renz Gallarmen Says:

You can't really treat flawier as laces as you brush some parts of the flywire at the court.

  28. NolterVetter Says:

that's not true at all, i don't know what shit-ass shoes you wear… and also, i said quickly. some plastic scissors wont get through my lebron vii's very easily. jerkoff

  29. Jhormundo Says:

Im loving these. If you ever had a pair of Lunars your defiantly gunna love this for basketball.

  30. brah Says:

what the fack "FLAWIER" means brah me talking about FLYWIRE brah

  31. That Random Guest Says:

I still truly don't know what any of the materials are meant for on most basketball shoes, I always thought they put extra materials to make it seem better. # water tower swag gang # findlay prep

  32. jiggy Says:

for the people who think the flywire is gonna rip, look how thick the effing cables are, they are like shoe lases on steroids

  33. jiggy Says:

bro, i think that scissors could probably cut through your lebrons, just sayin

  34. nextt Says:

I like this better than the 2011, the swoosh would look better somewhere else and Zoom Air should be way better.

  35. Sneakerz Says:

when is the release date in Aus?

  36. Super Zoom Says:

The design look really thrown together at the last minute. Lunarlon is great to have in the hyper dunks. Will definitely try these on. Nike is going to push these hard.
