LeBron James was recently quoted as saying he’d love the chance to play for Cleveland(‘s fans) once again, and it looks like his hero Michael Jordan also has some interest in donning the Cavaliers’ colors. The above pictured Air Jordan 4 colorup doesn’t signify MJ’s third un-retirement, but rather a trip back to one of the early glimpses at his world-beating form courtesy of a 1989 flashbulb moment that still haunts the site of the Richfield Coliseum. It was at this arena halfway between Cleveland and LeBron’s hometown of Akron that His Airness elevated over Craig Ehlo in the closing seconds of the fifth and deciding game of the Eastern Conference Playoffs’ first round, a visual Gatorade recently remixed by asking ‘What if’ ‘The Shot’ had rimmed out. This Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’ is a similar twist of the knife on history that’s every bit the ’89 OG in its own right as the recently released and hugely anticipated ‘White Cement’ Retro. They offer another chance to share one of Jordan’s great moments with the younger generation, and the GS sizes of this colorup look absolutely spot-on. Will this pair also prompt lineups around the country? Let us know your plans and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via TTB
i wear gs sizes and i love the way these look in gs sizes. yes def cop for me, hope it ain't hyped up and hard to get.
I dont know if this will be a QS, or GR. But since they are making them in a GS i will cop for my kids.
i dont understand why its such a big deal that new colorways are releasing. if you wanna stick to og colorways be my guest and keep buying the same shoes over and over again and wasting time/money. in the mean time id like to open up to fresh new styles that havent been done before. for instance il most likely grab these. just because its not original jordan colors and mj never rocked it doesnt make the shoe shitty. and no im not a hypebeast so for all you that go around on every jordan article to call people hypebeasts chill the hell out and appreciate the shoes for what they are
First off when Jordan's first started to release everyone loved Jordan and couldn't wait to get any Jordan that came out. People wanted the Jordans whether they liked it of not. Meaning they we're "hypebeasts". Now new sneaker heads come in to the game and don't k ow nothing about Jordan's but do what old sneakerheads did which is try to cop everyone that came out. Bottom line is a Sneakerhead is a hypebeast. Theres just og Sneakerhead and new sneakerheads. Sneakerheads are people who just want and buy more sneakers than you necessarily need whether you wear em or stock em. That's te sneaker game and it ain't gonna change so stop with you stupid comments think your bigger and better sneaker head than others when in the end were all the same jus people who love f*****g sneakers. Oh as I like em so imma cop. Goes with all my Knicks/mets gear.
Stop trying to hype everything Sneakernews. You and the rest of the blogs are the reason there's so much damn hype, and then you act like your one of us a d hate it too, you guys need to keep it real and quit this Ish...
please stop complaining about the knicks/cavs thing. and why the sneaker game isnt the same and all this bullshit. these last couple of years have seen the most amazing releases in a long time. so enjoy the sneakers and not the hype.
FIVE REASONS why these are called "Cavs" not "Knicks" 1. In 1988, Michael achieved his very first playoff series win by defeating the Cavs in the first round. He had 50 pts in Game 1 and 55 points in Game 2. He averaged somewhere around 45 points for the series. I have never forgotten it to this day as my very first pair of Jordans ever were the 4s. The LEGEND began in 1988. 2. "The Shot" over Ehlo in '89 to finish off the Cavs in the first round while rocking the bred 4s. 3. The following season Michael scored 69 points in Cleveland, which ended up being the most points he ever scored in a single game. 4. In 1993, Micheal hit another buzzer beater against Cleveland during the regular season, adding another chapter to MJ's domination over the city of Cleveland. 5. Former Cleveland Cavalier Ron Harper, whose best years statistically were with Cleveland, ended up becoming Michael's trusted backcourt teammate en route to three Chicago Bulls' titles in '96, '97, and '98. WORD.
Every damn shoe "let the hype begin" can you just like the shoe, cop the shoe and move on the next one with out let the hype begin? smh and the sneakergame aint dying its just changing with the times not much we can do about it.
let the hoopla begin !!!!! oh and thats the old cavs uniform u fcking dummies get your fcking hype right!
ugly no cop, and the fact that all of a sudden jordan wants to switch up the name to cavs wen its clearly knicks is pissing me the fuck off, i hope everybody still calls dem knicks not stupid ass cavs
funny how these show up around when LINSANITY hit. make no mistake about it they will be worn with j lin t-shirts and jerseys .....this is soo knicks c/w.....because how many people have throwback/retro cavs jerseys??
These joints are retailing as a gr in a few months, why hell why I pay $600. To the hell with resellers, to the death of them.
Can anyone tell me exactly why these have been dubbed the "Cavs" rather than the "Knicks"? I understand it's their old school colorway, but I'm not understanding why that justifies a colorway...
Stop F'ing complaining bout the name, thats why there the 23rd aniv. Of IV's.. the cavs wore these colors for the timeframe in which JB is aiming to commemorate! Shut up and just appreciate new fours for your collection or pass. If they were called yo mamas fools would still cop so it don't matter.
Yeah sneaker frenzy is crazy now days, white girls/kids/ and old men that never were even into shoes. They by up everything. Nice colorway though
coppin 2 pair like da white cements... dont matter wat they called, da cavs dont wear those colors anymore but da knicks still do.... regardless, 2 pair, done deal
Every pair of J's will have a lines and camp outs duhh...even the wack ones lol! Kids dont know what they are buyin and why they r buyin it so get ready to sacrifice a work day folks
back in the day fakes tried to copy the real ones as close as possible now it's the other way around. people will give their money for anything nowadays. the sneaker culture aka nothing but who can out do who and hype beasts galore
