NBA Feet: 2012 All-Star Weekend – Saturday Night Recap
The 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend continued with Saturday night’s events, which featured the Foot Locker 3-point Shootout, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, All-Star Shooting Stars Competition, and the headlining act, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. There was plenty of sneaker action to take notice, beginning with the insane space-themed PEs of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 (and a Low version), Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011, and the Nike Zoom Brave V (worn by Tony Parker) spotted during the Skills Competition. During the three-point shootout, James Jones wore a White/Red/Yellow colorway of LeBron 9, while runner-up Kevin Durant wore the KD IV ‘Dragon’ on one foot and the Grey/Yellow on the other. Paul George got creative by making himself glow in the dark while rocking the Air Flight One NRG during his spectacular dunk.
It’s hard not to give the top sneaker spot to one of the contemporary sneaker releases spotted during the night, but that prized label goes to Allan Houston, the former New York Knick who teamed up with Landry Fields and Cappie Pondexter during the Shooting Stars Competition; the former Nike athlete, who wore some sick PEs back in the day, wore the Nike Air Flightposite III, which conveniently fit in with the ‘space travel’ theme due to its funky alien-like panels on the upper. Paul George and Allan Houston killed it bottom line....shoe game sick....no pics of Penny from Friday with the white Galaxy Foams?
dunk contest was trash but Paul George with those Pennys was amazing....Allan Houston with the Flightposites was the sickest moment of the night...ironically enough I didn't like them when they dropped in 2000 but I might cop if they came back out
So I guess we gon have to blame Allen Houston for starting the flightposite hype... Lol... Please stop
Flightposite III KG's to me were the whole shit of the whole night ! Nike if u gonna retro sumethin', retro dem bitches...now's the time since EERBODY is on this FOAMPOSITE craze. Would b a dope ten yr anniversary re-release, jus sayin'
does anone know why lebron and wade dnt compete? flightposite 3s need to be retro i want them platinum joints and lmao why kd
Terrible dunk comp. just terrible. All those stars in the 3 pt and skills, and those 4 donkeys in the dunk.
flightposites are nice...the lebron pe's lookin too much like mcdonalds shoes..idk. too many gimmicks in the dunk comp tho...rather just watch all the old ones i recorded from that nbatv marathon..
so stupid that players you never heard of lobby to get into the dunk contest...we should vote players into the dunk contest like we do with the all-star game (which is absurd because they should want to be in it in the first place)...it's so sad to watch it today after growing up watching it in the 80's and early 90's...it's a joke now...I'm looking at you David Stern
are you serious? it was one of the more complicated dunks, in the dark, and he nailed it first attempt.
I can't lie, I didn't mind this dunk contest. Everyone gets so hyped up waiting for the contest, that the hype exceeds the turn out. You can't expect to see something different. The human body can only do so much. Practically everything has been done. Just be glad there is still a dunk contest...
You ain't lyin'. This shit was garbage. I've never been so disappointed in a dunk contest in my life!!! Had to admit though, seen this shit coming from last year......SMFH
da shoes allen houston got on are flightposites, paul george had da air flight nrg's on... now whos da dumbass yo
The Platinumposite was a special colorway of the Flightposite III from the Nike Battlegrounds Platinum Elite Collection.
