When was the last time you saw horsehair on a pair of Dunks? We’ll give you a few minutes to think about that one. Got it? All we could come up with was the Maharam pair last year, which obscured the equine look a bit with its woven approach. That’s not to say that Nike is completely averse to the fuzzy textures though, as just last month we saw the Be@rbrick Air Force 1′s use the look pretty liberally. Reaching back in time quite a bit is this sample that just popped up on eBay, a Nike Dunk High that drips a fruity orange all over the horsehair look – sorta like the Air Force 1 ‘Savage Beast’, combining it with leather and suede paneling on the upper. Follow us after the jump to get a look at this Dunk that never hit retail and if you like what you see then bid on them now from dballaholic on eBay.

Even though the 2012 NBA All-Star Game came to a close, we’re all still on a high on the ‘Galaxy’ releases like the Foamposite and the Nike Basketball signatures. With the Galaxy Foamposites being on of the toughest sneaker acquisitions in recent memory, would we see any Galaxy Foamposites this week? We saw now one, but two submissions of the Galaxy Foams, but even those might have some stiff competition as we saw a pair of the Nike LeBron 8 ’112′ Friends & Family edition, the Parra x Patta x Air Max 1, and a slew of other sneakers that have this final February batch of Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT being one of the best of the year. Check ‘em all out below and don’t forget to vote for your fave at the very end!

With three of its signature athletes making up 30% of the 2012 NBA All-Star starters, Jordan Brand already had major presence during the fun-filled weekend. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade all made their presence felt by making appearances in front of thousands of fans at Footaction for special in-store events hosted by DJ Khaled and Jadakiss, while participating in the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Flight Lab’, which featured a sick installation as well as an outdoor hooping area. A ton of celebrities also showed up in Orlando wearing some Air Jordans, like Jadakiss, who wore the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, J Cole, spotted in the Air Jordan III ‘White/Cement’, DJ Khaled, wearing the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Knicks’ in Blue, Wale, hooping in the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Wolf Grey’, and T.I., who rocked the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’. Check out all of the Jordan Brand athletes and notable celebrities after the jump and let us know who had the best ‘Feet’!

With February about to come to a close, many sneakerheads are looking forward to the Nike Air Yeezy 2, which currently has a tentative release date of March 23rd. That date isn’t exactly concrete, nor is the actual nature of the release known (what colorways, for example), but with the rising number of appearances of the Air Yeezy 2, we can only hope that a release is coming soon. Of the Yeezy 2, the ‘Zen Grey’ has been a trending issue, as we saw a good on-feet look on them on Kanye West’s feet while he was out in London for Fashion Week. Here we have another simple shot of the shoe, provided to us by Def Jam executive Shawn ‘Pecas’ Costner yet again; with a grey upper, hot red interior, and mint green outsole, are these a hotter commodity than the Black/Pink? Let us know in the comments section below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates on what could possibly eclipse the Galaxy Foamposite as the biggest release of the year.

Sure aqua tones wrapping the ‘Freshwater’ version of this same sneaker may be closer to any jersey that Junior ever suited up in, but it’s a hybrid in the first place so if you’re particular about preserving the OG looks than these probably don’t appeal to you anyway. The rest of us can enjoy the Nike Air Max Griffey Fury in the new action green look shown here, with the grey-dient set up almost ending up look like an Air Max 95 homage. Stay with us after the jump to get the full shots of the Nike Air Max Griffey (as well as a pic of Wale suiting up them), which is available now at Social Status.

Japanese running giants Asics stayed out of the Chinese New Year 2012 race, but here’s a selection of Far East flavor that’ll just as clearly designate our current position on the calendar. These new Asics Gel Lyte IIIs are done with the kind of crisp white and black blocking that’s played a significant role in casual kicks early this year. The two are more or less inverted when it comes to their palettes, with the black pair coming cast in nubuck and Cordura while the whites opt for leather atop the rugged DuPont fabric. This pack of polar opposites manages to nail the theme while reminding the West that there’s actually no ‘bad’ side of the yin-yang, and you’ll find them now at select retailers like SNS.

With Michael Jordan at the core of the design and the three Jordan Brand signature athletes acting as pillars of performance engineering, the Air Jordan 2012 encapsulate the greatness of the then, new, and future of Jordan Brand. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade received starting nods for this year’s 2012 NBA All-Star Game, and all three athletes displayed their on-court excellence that has earned them the rightful reputations as some of the greatest players of the game. Dwyane Wade displayed ‘Air’ by recording the All-Star Game’s third triple-double in history while dunking effortlessly in the Air Jordan 2012 and Fly Wade 2, Chris Paul exemplified ‘Quick’ by dishing out a game-high 12 assists, and Carmelo was ‘Explosive’, chipping in 19 points, 9 boards, and 2 steals. Check out the three Jordan Brand All-Star athletes in action at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game below and let us know which flight approach – Fly Around, Fly Over, or Fly Through – you utilize in your game!

Solebox unleashed the best light-up sneaker of 2011 not named ‘Nike Mag’ last March and they’ve got a sequel in store for spring. The Solebox x Reebok Omni Pump Zone reprises a design first seen just under a year ago, this new model switching out the orange accents for an electric green that gets you thinking how many other different colors could make for an equally awesome design. We don’t know yet if this will be an annual highlight but Solebox and RBK do have a well documented relationship and we’ve got more images of their latest after the jump below.
