New Balance Excellent Makers – Maine Factory

“Every cut has to be precise . . . attention to detail is critical.”
New Balance doesn’t just stand out because of the special English folks who man their factory in Flimby, UK. They’re also one of the few remaining brands who maintain their US-based manufacturing, resulting in a revolutionary Atlantic-crossing supply chain that traces one of its roots to Norridgewock, Maine. That’s where guys like Austin Green assemble standouts like last year’s superbĀ New Balance 1300 ‘Made in USA’ for fans of classic running styles who can’t get enough of the signature NB suede and mesh. Click through to see a bit of what it takes to make runners that retain their appeal for decades and stick with Sneaker News for more inside looks at the industry.

All you clowns that are crying about the cheap quality of over priced JB and Nike shoes have no one to blame but your selves. Why would Nike or JB stop making over priced dog shit shoes when you lame ass losers keep lining up to buy it? The funny thing is if you stopped buying it they would have to change or they would go out of business. It's you jerk offs that are responsible for all the crap JB and Nike put out. You ruined the shoe game, morons. If you got fucking lives and stopped camping out five days before a major JB release, that is sure to be shit quality, they would get the message.
Really hope a few of the workers here are getting the chance to make their own custom 1300's like the folks at Flimby are with the 576.
made in the usa and not $160 takes notes nike
See JB, you CAN give us quality. You oughta follow by example in this case.
This isn't an attack but lets get real. JB has people killing eachother for a pair of terrible quality overpriced sneakers made by some slave in China. They are making tons of $$ despite the garbage they are and put out. They will NEVER give us the good stuff again. Which is why I switched to Adidas.
Its just JB not Nike.
Yeah, they can, but won't, because that would cut into their profits. Nike bows to the shareholders who only care for max profits...and blame the American people, we always chant "Made In The USA!", but are always looking for the lowest prices. Props to NB for not selling out their quality standards completely. NB does produce some of their models in China, probably because their US and UK factories cannot supply all the demand...
This is dope as hell. I'd love to see a Jordan one
i dont think you really wanna see that
As a serious shoe collector, I consider New Balance as the best brand in running shoes. Because of superior design, craftsmanship, quality tops. Made in USA (Maine) or Made in England (Flimby) makes the shoes the most superior of them all. Asics Tiger Made in Japan can also compete because of its highest quality material.
These may not be Jordan's or nikes but at least quality is put into the shoe and not to mention made In the USA!
