Derrick Rose is technically an alumnus of the University of Memphis, but one-and-done ballers in the post-Howard era are often more strongly associated with their high schools than the college colors they wore for a single season. Such is the case in Chicago, where hometown hero Derrick Rose led the Simeon Success Academy to back-to-back Illinois state titles in the mid-’00s.
