Just because a sneaker design is time tested, doesn’t mean any individual pair is immortal. We’ve seen quite the opposite with some older grails succumbing to the elements in the form of crumbling cushions and dissolving soles, but even the newest kicks can’t survive a sharp scalpel. The latest to go under the knife is one of those select few models XV and up that warrants serious consideration for a retro release, the Air Jordan XVII Low ‘Lightning’. Arguably the best of the low version of Mike’s second comeback shoe, you can see it stripped down to the shank plate where Tuned and Zoom Air cushions came together for the first time. these shoes were the mark of the signature AJ downfall. Damn they came out with some abominations after these. Don't get me wrong, these were ugly in their own right though!
