The entire LeBron-fan collective has been holding its breath for the next South Beach-inspired colorway of the Nike LeBron since the late-2010 release. The OG South Beach is regarded as the best released LeBron shoe in history, so does the upcoming $250 Elite version hold its own against it? Here’s a first look at the Nike LeBron 9 Elite in the Wolf Grey/Mint Candy-New Green-Pink Flash – aka the ‘South Beach’ colorway; unlike its SB predecessor, the Elite features a predominately grey upper paired with a black carbon fiber plate, a completely solid midsole, a translucent New Green outsole, and electrifying hits of Pink Flash on the interior lining as well as the stability wing on the midfoot.
Aside from the technical advancements and re-tooling of the LeBron 9 Elite first seen here, some other notable changes have occured as well; the LeBron insignia on the tongue and heel have both changed, and a noticeable vent on the forefoot outsole has been implemented, exposing the Zoom Air. Like the previous two P.S. installments were to its respective flagships, the LeBron 9 P.S. Elite also provides an overall lighter package to adapt to LeBron’s in-season evolution, and surely with the Elite, LeBron will have his eye on his first ever NBA Championship. doesnt matter how many negative comments there are now. day before the release date everyone will be drooling over these.. i personally think these are dope, just might cop
they shouldnt call em south beach they should come with a tottaly different idea like Marty <cflys
so, we cant say the word H-Y-P-E anymore? you guys at sneakernews are bugging. im going to solecollector...
Yeah, Its a hypebeast colorway but it doesn't take away that It's a sick design. Will not cop, but I respect the shoe. Also the upper looks so cheap with that mesh:/
The grey gives it contrast, but I'm kinda on the fence as to whether to pair that much grey up with tropical colors such as pink and teal. The silhouette of the shoe itself really doesn't do it any favors either, at least in pictures. Most definitely a shoe that you have to see in person to base a good enough opinion on it.
Does anybody know where you can buy some south beach lebron 8 SHOE LACES (pink)
These look like the Yeezy 2's. As a whole collection of different colorways, The Lebron 8 series of shoes will be the best Lebron collection ever. It's tough to compare the Lebron 8's to any of the other Lebron shoes, past or present.
There is a bag of pink laces attached in the pic as the second set. If you cant find it, its because it is in the open your eyes section! lol.
I actually was a big promoter of the LBJ9 when it came out, when everyone else was against it, now they warmed up to it. But im divided about the new styles, hate the LOW's... those shapes on the side wall are random and cheap looking. But the ELITE, wow, thats quality. So cheap in the US still, compared to the normal range over here in Oz. As for this cw, i was like "Nooooo... no more South Beach Hype"... but i LOVe that its predominantly grey as opposed to bright turquoise, as this means us 'non-kids' can wear them now. BUT, and its a big but, these look more like a BTTF Marty McFly cw to me...
Yep another let down... its like we know we screwed you on the mcfly but here is a knock off for 250 plus tax
i hope everyone does hate these,so i can have an easy pickup for a change, but i doubt it cuz y'all will be in line camped out to get these
Too me their is no other south beach other then da 8s... these are a good cw but dam near not worth 250.. 200 mayb but knowin nike, gotta hike up everythin til u have to decide between a new pair of kicks or pay dis rent
not what i was expecting after all the buildup. cool CW, but kind of disappointed considering the hype, the price, etc.
I personally think they look like a mcfly colorway but there not worth aiting a week inline for
Colorway is dope but not as nice as the OG South Beaches and they can eat a D!$& on that $250 pricetag!
Darrian is right, they kind of look like Reebok Kamikazes....dissapointed. The lebron 8 south beaches r wayyyyy nicer! Im from and live in Miami and this colorway represents South Beach in a weak way....they could of made this shoe better than the 8s but messed up with the grey.....SMH + the price tag of 250....Nike wake up your overpricing the shoe!!!
The black carbon fiber area doesnt really go with the rest of the shoe, in this cw at least, imo.
The $250 price tag is kind of bitter sweet at least when hypebeast ask their moms for $250 they'll say no and real sneakerheads can have a chance to cop
not all hypebeast depend on mommy and daddy. I work with a whole gang load of them and apparently if it ain't a foamposite or Louis V its not "hot in the streets"
"This is a man's world" school boy pockets need not apply stick to your jordans and v.1s
I guess the word "South Beach" justifies that 250 price tag in Nikes mind and the sad part about it is the way the sneaker world has been heading they are right. smh
Regardless of the fact that people will be all over these because of the "South Beach" colorway, I'm more impressed that the materials that have gone into this shoe truly justify the 'Elite' tag put on it by Nike. These are great on not only a visual level, but on a technical level - and the hype surrounding these should be more along the lines of the materials used rather than the colors on the shoe. For once, the $250 price tag will actually be because that's what it cost to build the shoe, and not because it's the popular colorway. Well done, Nike!
now u kno fuuuuckin well dis shoe cost less then 25 bucks to make in sum sweat shop wit da rest of nike shoes.... da fact dat Nike is issuin out da REAL FINISHED product of da lebron, kobe & hyperdunk shoes now, slap Elite on them, hike da price up 40% is fuuuuckin ridiculous. Worse enough nike up their products 10 bucks frum last yr on everythin. They bring out da rough draft of lebron & kobe system shoes fa 170 & 180 & make 20 different cw fa both thru da last 6 months & now all of a sudden u bring out da final draft of da product & ask fa more money... fuuuuck ouuutttta her. Da jordan 11, 12 & foamposite shoes frum da late 90s had carbon fiber on them too, full zoom air unit, great stability & support & they were worth 125 & 150 respectively. So 15 yrs later, a base model shoe is 170 & now u add mooore carbon fiber & more support & u want me to pay double wat i paid fa sum og 11 or 12s dat have da exact same carbon fiber & zoom air support as these so called elite???... if u dont think dats ridiculous then u have no common sense & need to get ur head examined. Cuz Nike are sum greedy snakes... And if these will b da shoes he will b wearin in da playoffs, last yr P.E. models were CHEAPER than da original 8... even air force 1s are dam near a 100 bucks now.. outrageous
Im jus sayin if ur spendin 170+ & 180+ fa sum lebrons & kobe system shoes now, they should already b made sum elite materials & quality.. nike shouldn charge extra wat they already precieved to b high quality then several months later u tell us dat they have a better shoe & their are gonna up da price 40%... even a ID pair of lebrons are 215 & can do anythin u want to them fa less than these so called elite models
Don't take it literally fellas - of course the shoes don't cost $250, I was simply saying that it's good to see Nike stepping up the materials they're using and not simply charging $250 because it's a hyped colorway. While I'll be passing on the shoes (as $250 for a pair of Lebrons is a bit ridiculous), my point was that it's good Nike is actually adding something to the shoe in order to call them 'Elite' other than a sought after colorway. No doubt these cost about $20 to make, I'd never dispute that!
cost of production definitely increased but i know for sure it don't take no $250 to make some damn shoes. But you can't blame nike if people are gonna buy everything they put out. but then again south beach is a good looking cw with or without the hype.
