After two weeks of voting, Sneaker News readers have deemed these eight Air Jordan Retros as the peak of the litter, but there’s still work to be done! All four number-1 seeds are still alive, but that could very much change by the end of the round because it truly is any one sneaker’s game. Which #2 seed has what it takes to take down a number 1, or will the surging momentum behind the Air Jordan V ‘Tokyo 23′ be too much for the Laney V to handle? Continue reading to the open Elite 9 polls in the Sneaker News March Madness Non-OG Air Jordan Tournament and check out the full bracket on Sneaker News HD if you want a quick run-down of how we got to this point. Remember, the polls are open until 11:59pm EST Wednesday night.
ELITE EIGHT VOTING
Air Jordan XI ‘Cool Grey’ vs. Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’
WEST REGION FINALS MATCH-UP – Undoubtedly the most popular Air Jordan of all-time, the Air Jordan XI debuted the ‘Cool Grey’ pride to the Air Jordan legacy and gained an immense following thanks to the IX, IV, and III counterparts. It takes on the #2 seed of the West Region in the Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’ – a sneaker that opened up new ideas for Air Jordan colorways.
Air Jordan V ‘Laney’ vs. Air Jordan V ‘Tokyo23’
EAST REGION FINALS MATCH-UP – Two Air Jordan Vs will battle it out in East Region finals; the first is a tribute to Michael’s earliest basketball days at Laney High School, while the second points to Michael Jordan’s brand globalization after his retirement from the game. As the lone non 1/2 seed of the bracket, does the Tokyo 23 have what it takes to pull off the biggest upset of the Tournament?
Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ vs. Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’
SOUTHWEST REGION FINALS MATCH-UP – Headlining the Southwest Region is the original Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’, a sneaker that was made for Ray Allen’s 2000 Olympics effort, and the Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’ – the lone ‘Chicago Bulls’ colorway of the remaining pool. It’s a battle of iconic colorways in the Southwest Finals – so who comes out on top?
Air Jordan IV ‘UNDFTD’ vs. Air Jordan VI ‘DMP’
SOUTHEAST REGION FINALS MATCH-UP – The two top seeds remain in the Southeast region, with each sneaker telling a rich story in the history of Jordan Brand. the UNDFTD x Air Jordan IV continues to be one of the most sought-after sneakers in history as it was the first ever Air Jordan Retro colorway selected by a respected sneaker boutique, while the second pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s first NBA Championship in 1991 while serving its role as the first Air Jordan Package release.
smh to the dudes who think the Raging Bull 5's are more heat than the 00 Olympic 6's how many pairs of 00 olympic pairs have you seen in your life and how many pairs of raging 5's have you seen? olympic 6's were the first limited release to only 3k pairs. how many pairs did the raging bull come out with? don't forget all the pairs of 00 olympics that got retired.
got respect for the elite 8, hard to choose man but I say the Lightning IVs, Laneys, Raging Bulls and UNDFTD IVs will do it!
poor lightnings. any shoe thats put up against an 11 is gonna lost by a landslide just because of all the 11 hype
some of these i didn't think would make it this far but lets be honest, at this point it's clear by the voting that the Cool Grey 11s are a heavy fav so basically any sneaker that beats them would be an upset but my votes are as follows 4s, laney 5s, 6s, 4s. thumbs up or down I don't care its my choices not because of the lastest "hype" or which pair is "heat" or what rapper rocking j's
Final 2 sneakers are gonna be Raging Bulls vs Tokyo 5s, that will be the hardest decision I make in life
Not surprised by whos left. Folks sure did jump all on the air jordan IVs dick this year!!! Anyway gotta go with Cool Grey XIs, Laney Vs, Oly VIs and DMP VIs. I understand the UNDFTD IVs are rare but that doesnt mean they got stupid heat. Hardest was Olys vs. Raging Bulls.
Easiest was 4s vs 11s obviously the 4s win. then Laneys, over Tokyo. Olympics over the Raging Bulls, and UNDFTD 4s for the win
none of you guys are real sneakerheads, all fakes that think they know what theyre doing. im out 1nz
i got Lightning 4, Tokyo 5, Raging Bull 5, UNDFTD 4. Those two are for sure my favorite models, everything about them is dope
How the f*ck the Em 4s didn't make it but the Cool grey's and the plain ass dmp 6s did? WTF If the Raging bull 5s or UNDFTD 4s don't win everybody opinions will be just that opinions; makes it seem like this website traffic is all hype no knowledge/sneaker appreciation. You guys can do better
still don't understand raging bull v's. that pack went on sale when it came out. and the red ones look ragged in a hurry if you wear them. still don't know how they beat the cool grey IVs.
olympic 6 should have not made it this far . them shits is whack compared to every other shoe in here
The only pick I missed is AJ VI ‘DMP’...I still ask myself why? They are nothin special... Now I say IV ‘Lightning’, V ‘Tokyo23’, VI ‘Olympic’ and IV ‘UNDFTD’
Hype beast! Seriously? Laneys over tokyos your dumb as shit! and Olympic 6s over raging bulls? nigga you retarded!!
maybe in your country bumpkin ass town but everywhere else they sold out very quickly compared other releases and packs in that previous year.
boy you internet gangstas are on every site now huh? you know good and well you ain't bout that life. ol soft marshmallow ass lame
