President Obama sure is rolling in the sneaker swag this year, having already picked up a pair from Spike Lee and now set to receive another from US Representative Michael Michaud. This time around he will be blessed with a pair of hand-made in the US New Balance 990′s, complete with ‘President Obama’ stitching around the heel area of the clean grey design. The gift comes from rep Michaud to remind Obama of America’s footwear industry, carrying with it the hope of switching military contracts over to buy domestically made goods more exclusively. Well..considering a Nike LunarEclipse is $135 US and a NB is $144...that does almost make me want to buy NB over Nike for my trainers. But shit, NB is ugly as hell, even for trainers. You wouldn't catch Seinfeld dead in a pair of NB's, enough said.
