Our latest spotlight on a custom sneaker creation comes from an artist who’s unquestionably at the top of his game right now; is El Cappy the best customizer doing it today?  We’ve seen him combine styles as disparate as Air Force 1s and Christian Louboutin, but even something as crazy as his ‘Las Vegas Nights’ AF1s can’t hold a candle to the vast scope expressed on this latest design.  The Nike SB Dunk High ‘What the Dunk’ is a hightop version of that legendary 2007 mashup that arguably paved the way for the advent of modern hybridization thanks to its approach that combined ‘spare parts’ from 20+ of the best SB Dunks.  The original ‘What the Dunks’ got sneakerheads everywhere talking about hybrid designs; how long will we remember El Cappy’s hightop version?

Like the concept. I don't think I could have done it better. It is weird how the sections are on the wrong panel compared to the original and wrong materials. Not a fan of the lucky and unlucky numbers being there as they were already on the lows. Also why the BAM! panel? Those kicks were disgusting. All in all great concept, but the execution could have been different to make more sense.

These are fresh but I'm pretty sure he butchered a bunch of fakes for the parts right? Where he get a day of the dead, heniken and de la soul high ankle straps? Either way, these are crazy

This is amazing... comparable to the lows.

Would've been nicer if he just put colorways that were from SB Dunk Highs instead of adding some designs from dunk lows like Heinekens, Day of the Dead.

maybe for the midpanel could have a better inspiration shoes than the Boom dunks 2010 , but execution isn't bad

imagine if Nike actually made a pair w the actual material. the real shoe would look dope. but this was executed nicely tho
