Making yet another comeback this Fall 2012 season is the Air Jordan VII in the original ‘Dark Charcoal’ colorway. It adopted the ‘Raptors’ nickname after its 2002 reprisal, and continued to be a major hit when it released in 2009 as part of the Air Jordan VII Defining Moments Pack. Sneaker News already filled you in on the September release, but it look like we’ve got an exact date set; September 1st is the date to circle on your calendar, which falls right at the start of the school year! I was never able to get the DMP 7 pack so i must get these for my collection. And in all honesty the OG Rapter 7's looked JUST like these. Why do i see people saying the OG looked like the one from 02? My dad has a picture of himself back i the day when he got the OG Black/Dark Charcol/True Red 7's. And they look damn near what these look like. So all the "OG heads" should stop bitchin on the color
Oh Damn, I can see it already. This will be the back to school shoe. everyone and their mother are going to have these. I didn't get the DMPs so Im deff getting these and im gonna keep em' on ice.
I hope u guys know these are not raptor 7's and neither were the dmp's and for all the ppl that were not keeping up with release dates these, the OG raptor colorway, and Olympics are coming out in august/September so don't get the colorways mixed up these and raptors are 2 different sneakers.

Hey I get that these are charcoals, but I'm from Toronto. And these kicks will be forever referred to as "Raptors" in this city, just live with it.

Know ur jordan history cut the ogs were all black with a deeper tone of red these are basically the defining moment editions as opposed to the ogs which werent actually raptors but the 2002 releases were also the raptors and all black ni charcoal only charcoals were the dmps
I wish people would stop calling these the 'RAPTORS'. These are the 'PLAYOFFS' 7's that MJ wore in the 1992 playoffs and Finals. The Raptors Franchise came into the league in 1996 4yrs after the release of the AJ 7.

would have liked it better if it was made like the OG pair. but hey, this pair is on top of my short list. so i have to camp, i will. the11 breds, im pretty sure im not even gnna get a chance so i wont bother trying to risk my life lol

i will only consider if they look like the 02s or ogs. I thought that's why they were retroing. From these pics, its basically DMP. But people will go crazy regardless. I was looking forward to the og or 02 look.

they are the OGs were not straight black the retros were the ogs did have a deeper grey then that ones used on the DMP raptor retro wich these 2012 seem to have so essentially they are closer to the OG n heres video of the OG to prove http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-UnmYE8ulk
They were pretty much straight black the only difference being that two different materials were used. The outer "dark" parts were durabuck synthetic material and the inner parts were smooth black dyed nubuck which fades with use and age. Having owned both the OG pair and the '02s, they were pretty much made the same. After about 2 years of regular wear my 02's faded in the same manner. The pair from the pack was given the aged look in advance and in no way looked like the OG's did when they first arrived on the scene and neither do these.
I was expecting this to be all black. If this is the case I might as well just pass on these and stay with my DMP 7's
exactly i will not buy another pair of black and grey 7's when i have bordeaux's already ...on another note the end of this year is gonna be packed full of relases so if these dont end up all black like i want them just cop something else.
