It was just about twenty years ago that a ten story tall reverse-dunking Michael Jordan covered the side of a major downtown Barcelona highrise. A classic MJ home video reveals among other details from the 1992 Dream Team that Michael himself visited the massive ad while wearing a Bordeaux-styled short suit, a reminder that it was the Air Jordan VII Jordan wore while dominating international competition en route to his second gold medal. That means that the above pictured Air Jordan VI Retro is more commonly associated with Ray Allen’s 2000 Sydney gold-winning performance, or perhaps one of your lucky sneakerhead homies who happen to have one of the rare remaining quality pairs from that run. We’ll have another crack at them when the ‘Olympic’ Jordan 6 hits retailers on July 7th and you can see a fresh set of images after the jump that represent a couple of pairs available right now from parkave718 on eBay.
Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’
White/Midnight Navy-Varsity Red
Quality will be typical 2012 JB quality, but just as every other retro has sold out instantly this year, these will do the same. I personally like the look of the new midsole. Definite pick up.
These are clearly b grades. I wouldn't stress over looks/quality until we see real pics in the coming weeks. Still a cop in my book
regardless of anyone else's thoughts, im getting these. by far, the olympic 6s are my fav jordan of all time, and with the current prices of the 2000 model, and the likelihood of the 2000s breaking down on me, im def gonna do all i can to buy these at retail on release day.
The quality looks like complete shit. It has to be better on the release version but ive always thot these were sick and idk why yall hatin on the icy sole i think it looks tuf
wish they whited out da bottoms instead of icy'n them. Turn yellow mad quik. But i wouldn wear them much anyway. Still have my 2001 pair in good condition
Finally some legit pics, hope to see more like they doin with the 7s. Gonna cop for sure, just wanna see some in better quality than these b-grades..
The leather def doesnt compare to the varsity red white VI that dropped in 2010. The leather on those were soft and buttery. Drastic change from all the J's that were made later
These look cheap but I will be copping 2x when the final product is out there. I never buy early anymore because 9/10 resellers cant tell the difference in fakes.
These are probably b-grades early releases often are imo, I only cop my kicks on release day at reputable stores, guaranteed to be official and minus a luxury tax. Anyway I'm on these soon as they touchdown.
Midsoles ultra disappointing. I thought the point of retro re-releases was to bring back the desire of the 1st run. This is a different shoe with the same upper... still deciding... i'd rather have more white on the midsoles. =( Big Dix
All u complainers STFU, either buy the shoe or don't. Yes the shoes look worn but damn these are an early release pair calm down. This midsole swap aint a big deal get over it these are retros which means to be different from its counterpart in someway. Yall cant be sneakerheads and not kno the common sense of things. Either yall r broke and cant afford jordans or plain cry babies. No one should want these shoes for this price not worth it, but please grow up ppl. And this whole repaint the midsole sounds foolish u just taking the value out the shoe.
STFU about quality its not gonna change. I'll cop Im not happy bout the midsoles though. At all. Prob just repaint em and get rid of the glossy finish
i honestly dont care about the quality or the blue ice or the midsole change. this color way is was too smooth to pass up and the 6s are my favorite jordans
Not worth the $500 price tag, I wish these hype beast's would get over themselves and realize nobody is paying 500 hundred for a general release.
even though the quality looks type weak and the midsole isn't right...they still look prettty nice...especially the bottoms....but I am pretty sure I am going to pass
used to like these back in 92, but now they look awful to me. PASS. much fresher j's out there if youre looking to get them for collectors reasons thats cool, but if u think they hard jus cuz they jordans then you are whats wrong with the sneaker game today. to each his own tho. respect either way.
i was with you until you said taking the value out of the shoe..... these new jordans don't hold any true value other than resellers trying to make sure they meet their 200% profit quota from ebay besides that no. so painting a midsole to resemble the shoe they really want isn't gonna harm a thing matter of fact it just means that they wear their shoes.
Que? What? WTF did you just say? '92? Really? Somebody is talking out the side of their d@mn neck and they have a little follower (below) who's co-signing him. These never released in '92. This colorway first came out in 2000. Not only that, the VI's/6's came out in 1991. Man, this a case of a person who fronts like he's the man/he's knows what he's talking about, but in fact, he really doesn't know doo doo. @dotsupreme, you need to pull your skirt down and stop the cheer leading, because you look just ass ignorant as the guy "curtmo" Get back on the side line and study the play book son.
icey soles always make me question getting a shoe now because after about 5 wears that ice start turnin...smh
you can see the quality just by looking at a picture? Wow you people complain about everything. Make a firm decision either cop or shut the fu k up.
im sorry but either im blind or not looking at the right places but where do you see the quality being crappy on this because other than screwing us over with the midsole and no oval laces i can't see a thing from just photos of the shoe taken in bad lighting.
well they have that blue tint that slows the yellowing process down but it's very possible to keep them icy for years if you take care of them
do you run thru water and then leave the shoes in the middle of ytour floor for a month before cleaning them? if you clean the soles and dry them and then put them in the box they stayr pretty icy.
well the "leather" looks way more synthetic than the ones from 2000 so get ready for tons af creaes quickly and the paint JB uses on almost all thier sneakers is super latex based so it does not seep into the impact foam on the midsole jus lays on top which leads to easy chipping and cracking after only a few wears.........hopefully that answered ur question
