Right after the release weekend of Ronnie Fieg’s latest collaboration with one celebrated running imprint and we get our first substantial look at his next. Previewed here is the New Balance 999 that Fieg has been cooking up, apparently a take-off on the beloved ‘Steel Blue’ colorway of the New Balance 1300 that his Kith space recently re-launched in 2012. The sneaker does play with the traditional Steel Blue makeup a little bit, switching out the mesh sectioning towards the toe box and ankle areas in favor of a perforated suede treatment. Please take your trashy simplistic kid-like single colour "limited" hype-beastery away from New Balance and stick to ruining Asics retro's. Who gives this guy jobs? You cant come up with a single colour and the choice to use quality materials on your own?? C'mon people... CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN! You'll save money at least. Having said that, well done to this guy, he is the Paris Hilton of the sneaker design world... famous for being famous. And doesn't have to do anything to get it. I wonder if these will ALSO be shot accompanied by a hot women, as they always need something to detract from the fact the shoes have no substance.
guy gets an opportunity to work with new balance, so what does he do? rehash an existing colourway and doesn't even get the materials right. *snore*
